Second, if it is installed, is it possible to display a flash video in an Activity? I'm thinking you'd have to use a WebView widget within your Activity to display the Flash content instead of something like a VideoView. Is Flash even supported within the WebView widget or is it only supported by the actual Browser app?

Nov 11, 2011I want to send data generated by a flash module into an external executable in windows. From what I've learnt about interprocess communication, I think it is appropriate to use pipes in this case. I am using Flash professional CS5 and when a 'trace' command is used inactionscript the ouput will be displayed in the output window in flash professional. I think Flash pipes the data into the output window and if so is it possible to obtain the handle to that pipe. Is there a way by which I can write the output from flash player itself when the trace commands are executed or the data generated on an event directly into the buffer of a pipe.

Feb 3, 2010I'm wondering wether there's a Javascript way to detect wether a user has any sort of flash blocking plugin installed so i can accommodate these users properly. For example, I use 'click to flash', but sites that use SiFR to render text are littered with "click to flash" buttons, which is getting very annoying. I don't use SiFR in my designs for this reason. But if I could spot wether there's a flash blocking plugin installed, I would simply not call the SiFR function.

Apr 3, 2012I have just installed Flash Media Server developer version 4.5 on my server, the Start Screen appears and keeps asking me to install Flash Player version 10.2 or above. I have repeatedly installed Flash Player 11 to no avail. I have tried to start the Admin Console but it just shows the 'get flash player' icon. I can confirm that Apache is running as I get an error from it when I try to access the Admin Console from the Internet. The Adobe web-site confirms that Flash Player 11 is installed and working correctly for the Operating System, Windows 2k8-R2. I have restarted the server to make sure everything has installed correctly, but it makes no difference.

Dec 22, 2009on publishing some FLA files on FLASH-8, a warning pops up saying the target Flash Player "Flash Player 8"is not installed. The standard Flash Player will be used instead" Flash Player 8 has been installed together with FLASH-8 and it shows up in Currently installed programmes in Control Panel. It is marked as a rarely used programme though I run SWF every day. Another strange thing is that it used to be marked with that FLASH red icon, now it is marked with the folder icon.
Control Panel also shows Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX and Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin which I do not recall to installed - probably they came as an upgrade - I wonder if they somehow screen off Flash Player 8?

However, when I close the Flash Player it is still occupying a connection to the server. Sep 27, 2011ran into a sticky situation the other day where a douchebag anti shockwave moron showed me our shh doesn't work: we obviously detect if flashplayer X.X exists and we do print some html mirror accordingly but for some, idiotic I might say, reason, if it is there and it is disabled, the detections still return true - well who the heck wants to know that then, ah? totally a case of sour grapes I might say - yes, it is there, but yeah well it's useless...
so anyhow - web's full of gr8 workarounds for detection etc... is there an actual proper reliable code to detect no flash, even if it's disabled?!
