Flash :: Flex4 / AIR With NativeProcess - Cannot Pass Cmd Line Options To Imagemagick Convert.exe
Mar 22, 2011
I'm trying to use Imagemagick convert.exe with Flex4 NativeProcess. I know I have it configured properly because I can get a successful result with a simple call with no options to convert.
I want to pass two parameter to nativeProcess. While i am running exe file using windows command with parameter, it is working. Command for window is "abc.exe a.txt b.txt"How can I pass two parameters to the exe in that format using flex nativeProcess?This is what I have so far:
Im using mxmlc to compile as3 on ubuntu linux. I've donwloaded flex4_b2_100509, just to use the most recent stuff...so Im typing 'mxmlc file.as' but it just hangs on me... it doesnt return anything. I checked running processes ('ps -e') and its showing both mxmlc and java as running, which tells me the compiler started. after a while the shell reports a 'segmentation fault'l.
Imagine situation when child component is scaled and parent component is scaled as well. I want line to be drawn without scaling in child component and to be scaled in parent. Is it possible to achieve this?
var arg3:Vector.<String> = new Vector.<String>; var rescJar:String = File.applicationDirectory.nativePath + "/java/test.jar"; arg3.push("-jar",rescJar,"-n "a string"");
As in the figure i have three lines out of which line1 and line2 are fixed. line3 is derived from line1 based on some angle say 70.I try to rotate the line3 but it deviate from the point x1 and x2. I try the code like this
I try to load an swf in my flex 4 project using the following line of code: <mx:SWFLoader id="game_swf" source="demo.swf" complete="init()" /> the demo.swf file is another project i created using flex 4. the problem is that when i run the application i see only the loading bar of the demo.swf flash file and nothing else. if i try to load a different swf file (for a example a game i downloaded), it loads just fine.
Im building a program that queries a database for options and displays the options in a number of comboBoxes. The comboBoxes are dynamically built and loaded via code and added to the stage. I would like to build the comboBoxes into a single movie clip (maybe not the correct wording) so I can use options like tweening and such to make it look better. The code is below.
My group is working on a Flex/AS3 scientific web application that is data intensive. Luckily the only plots involved are line charts. However, each line chart may have multiple traces (up to 24), and each trace may contain up to 2000 points. The user will need to zoom in and out and interact with the data (e.g. data tips, etc.).
The response I'm getting from developers is that's a lot of data to render in a plot in Flash. For reasons beyond the scope of this post, we can't sample the data to reduce the size (this has already been done and nature of the data prevents further sampling).
Rendering speed is critical for this app. What kind of rendering speed should I expect the Flex 4 line chart component to provide for a given number of points (e.g. 1 second to render 1000 points?)
Are there products available that handle plotting large data sets better, which can be incorporated in Flex (I've seen FusionCharts and ZingCharts online but have no idea how they compare with Flex's components)? Of those, which are easy to develop with while still providing a lot of flexibility in look and feel?
ok so I am trying to draw a curve and then make it into a mask, the problem is, flash only calculates the mask for a fill and thus using the line does not work. Does anyone know of a way to convert a line to a fill with as3 without using something like bitmap data as I would like to keep it as vector data if possible, below is my code:
ActionScript Code: line = new Sprite(); this.addChild(line);
I have built a application that use a nativeProcess to open exe. The application into Flex Builder 3 run whitout errors. Then the problem come when I export the aplicaction AIR in .air and install the applicaction in the developer pc or other pc. When I push the button to open the .exe, appear the message "Native Process is not supported". The code in the main.mxml that I use:
Is AIR nativeprocess able to receive message from Java program and process every line of message as fast as possible in milliseconds? Does it has a miss read or delay?
I need to pass the "" to the mm.exe that run with nativeprocess. When I pass "In From MIDI Yoke: 1" even using " to the nativeprocess, it won't launch the application properly and caused it to crash. What wrong this the code?
I would like to launch an external program on the server from a server-side ActionScript. My server-side scripting is in ActionScript 1.0 so I can't use the NativeProcess class, right? Can I use ActionScript 3.0 on the server? Is there another way?
I want to interact with a .jar-file in my AIR-project.I am using the NativeProcess feature in AIR2 for this, but it seems like I can't just define 'myJavaFile.jar' as the executable.On Windows, you can give 'java.exe' as the executable, the problem is Mac can't handle .exe-files.So my question is: how can I use .jar-files with the NativeProcess feature in AIR2. Or maybe there is an other solution to communicate with a .jar-files in AIR / AS3?
I gave up on Python and wrote the stdout interface with a C++ Win32 Console .exe file. It works fine. Bleegghh.
Old post: I'm trying to communicate with a Python script. It is not going well. So, first off, I can't get the damned thing to launch for the life of me -- so I'm focusing on that issue. I can get CERTAIN .exe files to launch, but not all of them. If I bundle putty.exe (lol) in a folder called NativeProcess it works fine, but I can't launch python.exe from my computer.
The NativeProcess is having a big issue which would hang/sudden stop response after 1-2 mins of running. I wonder if anyone else encounter the same issue?I have tested on Windows 7 (64bit).If there any way to launch an exe and release the Nativeprocess handler from monitoring the process or other method will be appreciate.
How can I find the return value of a executable which has been invoked by a AIR app using the NativeProcess API? I am using Flash Builder 4. The following c++ generated executable
festival --tts "HelloSpeak.txt"
works fine on the Windows cmd line , but on invoking by the NativeProcess API like in the example article doesn't produce the desired result. I invoke the command with the arguments on a button click handler, but there is no TTS generated output.
I'm trying to understand how packages and dependencies work with Adobe Flash Builder 4. I've copied an example here and put it in a .as file called DependencyGraph. However I get the error message: A file found in a source-path must have the same package structure '', as the definition's package, 'DependencyGraph'. I understand that the original file has a package name called package flare.apps. What should I change to enable this to run?
I created few flex components in flash using flex component kit for flash. It generates a swf and a swc file. my question is, how can i load these flash created flex component at runtime and use them.
Friends, I am developing a control panel for a web hosting company, I am considering using Adobe Flex 4 (Adobe Flash Builder), but I'm afraid that the staff are no longer using more flash in computers, especially with the growth of ipad, iphone without flash.
This panel will be used by enterprise customers to manage their products.
Do you think that the flash actually has a future? think it is reliable to use flash in such an application?
I'm trying to pass the contents of variable playnoyes to the long line of code below to decide whether or not to autoplay the flash movie, but doing it as I have below, the resultant line of code has the variable in quotes and therefore the code doesn't execute it as expected. My question is, how can I pass the variable so that the resulting line of code doesn't have the quotes around the variable value.
var playnoyes='true'; var testtext = "<script type='text/javascript'>AC_FL_RunContent ('codebase','http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.[code]....
I am loading a swf file, which I did, but the think is, in this swf file I am doing URL request to get an image file, when I open the swf it works fine, but when I loaded using the code above, I`m getting a error:Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.everything loads fine, just the image which I am getting externally it`s not loadingf I run as debug mode, I got this message in console:
I was wondering if it possible to write up some AS that will take line paths that you have drawn and convert them into a Path object? For example say you drew a jagged line from left to write, would there be a way to have AS convert that into a Path object.
I am using Flash 8 by the way. Anyways what I am doing is making a menu with different options. I need the user to click on various buttons from the menu and then after those buttons are clicked, an animation needs to play and then return to the original menu. I have got the mouse to follow my custom cursor and made the general outline of the menu, but no buttons so far.
