can i load the swf and connect to specific events in specific elements of the swf ?

View 3 RepliesI'm developing a Application in Flash Builder 4.5 to control an server application, also not a classical Website. All is Spark and I set the minHeight and minWidth-Properties for the , because i have an Image and Navigators, and there becomes a strange effect, when the browserwindow is sliding smaller that the min-Properties.The content and there scrollbars are already controlled over the parent containers, thats not the probelm.
Summary: What i expect from a upToDate-Application is:When the Browserwindow is larger than the min-Properties, but too small for the content, the Application respectively the container should control the scroll bars.If is the Browser-Window smaller than the min-Properties, i expecting scollbars from the browser. I think, in this case, the html-wrapper needs knowledge about the min-properties.
I've built a simple flash application that takes a user's photo/image, offers various effects and filters to play with. In the end, the application can write-out the resulting image to a PDF print file (to be purchased and sent to a printer).Currently I'm using PHP to template the web pages, with the Flash app embedded in the body of one of the pages.
I now need to integrate a shopping cart and check-out system, the idea being that the user can play with images, add various images to a shopping cart, at some point choose print sizes for each image, check-out and purchase etc. My app would attached the necessary print files, and email/submit the order to the printer.In researching the various cart systems out there like Zen-cart, Magento, osCommerce, etc.. these all seem to be full featured CMS systems, full websites, that you deploy, customize and skin, add products to etc... a "canned store". But in my case, I'm adding/creating the product at run-time. It's not a traditional store where you browse and select items.
At first glance its not clear to me how I would use one of these systems, how to integrate with my Flash app.... it seems I only want to make use of the shopping cart, customer database portion, payment transaction features.Is it possible to use one of these, using only the checkout and order management through a API? called from my Flash app? or processed via back-end PHP?
I'm starting to localize my flash application.I'm trying to see if there is a way to rollback on default operating system fonts for languages like japanese so I don't have to embed them.So far I didn't find anything online.I'm currently using css to define the font family like :

View 3 RepliesI'm building an application with the Flex framework and the 3D graphics library Flare3D. I want to be able to embed my 3D scene into an MXML application and still have the mouse events dispatched to the 3D scene.
Here is my code:

The problem is that the 3D rendering is done by default in a "layer" that is behind the 2D layer (where we can put MXML components). By default, if we mix 3D and 2D elements, we can't see 3D elements. So I added backgroundAlpha="0". This solved the problem of showing the 3D view. But now I have another problem, I can't move the cube (which is the default behaviour) when I click on the scene and move the mouse. I understand that this is because the 3D view is behind the 2D view.
Is it possible to give the 3D view the focus for mouse events (when it's needed) ? Or is there a different way of doing what I want ? The only hack I figured out is to uncomment this //stage.getChildAt(0).visible = false; which make the 2D view invisible. But I want to mix 2D elements and 3D view, so it's not a solution.

View 2 RepliesI would like to create a application in AS3.0 that going to publish to website where I'm trying to prevent from other people to download and decrypt. But of course, i need to design the application in such a way that it doesn't contain any sensitive data in case someone successfully download and cracked it.
However, i'm not sure whether it is really safe to include sensitive data by using dynamic external script (e.g. putting "include Data.as" on action). I understand that only during compilation this Data.as is being dynamic loaded but I'm not too sure people can decrypt and see the content of Data.as by some other way to download and crack from my application.
My embedded images show up in the Flex Builder Design Preview, but are not displayed when the application is run. The images have relative paths (/assets/images/...), and the application is run on the server (wamp). I've appended the path to the compiled location [URL] and tried to display a image in the browser, and the image exists, too. I've compiled it via FlashDevelop, Flex Builder, and Ant. I've deleted and remade the bin/bin-debug/release/bin-release files to no avail.

The problem is the wifi connection is unreliable and there are frequent dropouts. The schedule which the app reminds doesn't change very frequently. So instead of calling the web-service for finding the schedule every day/hour the app can store the data locally. Also, if the user updates the schedule on the app, the web-service is updated that the task on the schedule is complete. This data can also be stored locally so that when the user uses the app next time and there is an internet connection, the app can update the web-service.
View 1 RepliesI try to load an swf in my flex 4 project using the following line of code: <mx:SWFLoader id="game_swf" source="demo.swf" complete="init()" /> the demo.swf file is another project i created using flex 4. the problem is that when i run the application i see only the loading bar of the demo.swf flash file and nothing else. if i try to load a different swf file (for a example a game i downloaded), it loads just fine.

View 1 RepliesI'm a C++ programmer, but I'm a newbie in Flex. I'm developing a Flex 3 application for a social network using the FlashDevelop. For debugging I'm using the stand-alone FlashPlayer (10.3 debug) downloaded from Adobe. The application is a simple audio player which shows artist/album images.
The application worked properly on both local computer and remote server until I made some layout changes in Main.mxml. I added some HBoxes and changed Image placement. After that the application still works on my local computer, but it doesn't work properly after I upload it to a server.
Application buttons are not highlighted on over/out/click events, images loaded from the Internet are not displayed, text changed dynamically is not displayed, but when I click buttons a sound file is loaded from the internet and starts playing. It looks like some events which are responsible for components displaying are not dispatched, because some part of functionality not related to displaying still works.
To make sure that this is not a server problem, I rolled back to the previous revision. All works fine.
I suppose that this is a known issue, but I have no idea what is the reason.
It's my understanding that view states can be useful when switching the layout of design elements. Such as, a loading page as one state and the main application design in another state. Is this the correct use of them? Additionally, I have a label in State1 and I cannot figure out how to access that label via actionscript. labelID.text = "New Text"; is not working.

View 13 RepliesHere's what I am trying to do: I am working on a flash site and I want it to start out with a bang so I've made a intro clip in After Effects in 1920x1080. I want this intro to start by you clicking a button. So when you first see the screen you are going to see the paused video (In my case the earth from outer space) and a big red button which you can click to start this video. Since I am working in 1080p I won't be able to use FLV so we are talking about the embeded video function. My problem: I want the video to stop or go to the next frame after playback it only loops as of now.

I'm trying to understand how packages and dependencies work with Adobe Flash Builder 4. I've copied an example here and put it in a .as file called DependencyGraph. However I get the error message:
A file found in a source-path must have the same package structure '',
as the definition's package, 'DependencyGraph'.
I understand that the original file has a package name called package flare.apps. What should I change to enable this to run?
