I purchased a template from template monster. I am tweaking it, trying to replace the flash picture slider with html. I want the flash menu to remain. When I replaced the slider, the menu tabs work but the tab doesn't highlight the page its on. I use flash pro 8 action with script 1.0 & 2.0 .http:[url]......Here is AS code:[code]..

This is a side menu and they are stacked on top of each other.I would like to know how to highlight the current menu selection using flashvars and this page is html. Like I said I have searched but nothing is making sense and no one has offered to help as yet.Sometimes when I am browsing that site the flash menu up the top doesn't display, but hitting F5 brings it right up. There is a go to and play the last frame action in there. Could that be causing it? I have uploaded the file as well if anyone wants to have a look at that.Maybe someone can explain this to me Link to possible resolution. I found this script but it doesn't work. My buttons are not in a movieclip, and the instance names are but1-6.[code]The script is on a new layer called actions. Can anyone tell me why this script has NO effect whatsoever?

Works great, now.. When I hover over a menu item is turns green, I click it, it takes me to the right page, but I want it to stay green. And when I click another page I want the other menu item to turn green and all other revert back to regular. How do I do this?

I realize that there's some additional code that would need to be written here, but you get the point. Basically what I'm doing is disabling the button so nothing happens onRollOut. Then I'm setting all the buttons colors to null, but changing whichever button was flagged as active to red.
It seems like a really ghetto way of doing this, and you notice a visible flicker in color of the active menu item if there are a lot of items in your array. Does anybody know a better way to handle this?
I have an array of items that should be selected in my tree control. As you can see from my code below, I bind this array to the selectedItems property of the tree. If the selectedItems are toward the top of the tree, then the selection works just fine. However, if the items are toward the bottom of the tree, Flex seems to "ignore" my items (selects nothing).

I have a mc (houses_mc on frame1) (a long image the user can pan to the left or right) and I want to place some buttons in this movieclip to go to another page when CLICK. I put the second page on the second frame in the timeline, and so on. ( Is this alright or should I open it in a scene or as a new fla file?) So far I can't get my button work. It seems that As3 doesn't like btns placed in mc or something like that. The roll over and hover and hit works all fine, but when I click it doesn't go anywhere. I made a simple website with a flash menu, that opens internal links in an iframe. However, I have a few other (not included in the menu) external links, which open in the same iframe. And after I click on one of them and it loads in the iframe, the buttons on the menu stop working. I'm beginning to think it has something to do with the internet explorer, since it works on some computers. But I'm not sure... not very good at this.

so I have created a basic flash navigation menu bar for my website. I have added the bar into a frame on my dreamweaver page. I was just wondering if it was possible to link the buttons on my flash bar to open the pages into a different frame, the main frame below, my navigation bar? The code I have at the moment for my "home" button is the following:

and this is opening the "home" page in a new window. Is it possible to make it open it in my main frame (called mainFrame)? When I change _blank to _self it opens the page in the same frame where the menu bar is, not the mainFrame below it.
I am working on a project that I need to create a flash navigation bar for a html site. There will be a drop down menu when you rollover the buttons on the nav bar, which means the drop down menu will be overlaying on top of the html pages. I saw websites were done like this before, but I personally don't know how to do it.

I used to have a little text panel (that sat with the color, swatches, and align panels) that I was able to open up and edit text size, color, underline, etc with. It had a much better text editing ability then the properties panel, seeing as the properties panel does not even bother to allow me to underline text or to highlight and edit a single word in a whole text box. Now I don't have it, I can't find the damn thing anywhere, and I want it back. How can I get it?

The story starts when one day, my boss asked me to make a flash presentation about their upcoming user training for a newly developed software. I was enthusiastic and excited about it because it's been a long time that I did not use Flash (note that I don't have any experience in ActionScript 3.0). As I was about to finish the project, my boss approached me again and asked if I could insert a menu page in front so that the users won't have to replay the whole thing again just to look for a little something on that part of the movie. So yea, at first I was abit hesitant to accept. I said that it will work with Powerpoint. But she's a total pusher and I was forced to say yes. (URL... )where 12345 is the corresponding Id number that I want to get.I have this functionality working.I am using Internet Explorer 7.My issue is that when a user attempts to enter a new query string id into the URL, the page doesn't refresh when the user hits enter or the refresh button. View 1 RepliesI have a .swf I'm inserting at the top of a page in DW. I have a button named "aboutUs_btn" which when pressed needs to load "aboutUs.html. That part works fine, but it always loads the page into a new window. How do I make it load into the same window? I could do this in AS2 with getURL and using _self. Here is what I have:

View 1 RepliesI have an iframe to a page where a Flash swf file is running; does anybody have an idea how to make it transparent so that my drop-down menu should be shown perfectly? Kindly be informed I can't edit the source page (add param = wmode, value = transparent to the Flash object), only if there is any chance to make it possible in iframe or some JavaScript on my page, I have already tried allowtransparency="true" and background-color="transparent".
View 4 RepliesI'm trying to edit a Flash file, that get it's data from and XML file.Now when you click on one of the menu items, the page + page title should change, but somehow the page title remains the same. (at least for the first 3 menu items) But when you go to the last menu item and then back to one of the first 3 menu items, the correct page title is shown.I'm no flash / AS expert, so I can't really find out what the problem is, but it seems like it has something to do with this function
