IDE :: Highlight Currnent Page From Hrml, Flash Not Appearing And Add Another Button?

I have a menu with 5 selectable items. I would like to add a 6th. This is a side menu and they are stacked on top of each other.I would like to know how to highlight the current menu selection using flashvars and this page is html. Like I said I have searched but nothing is making sense and no one has offered to help as yet.Sometimes when I am browsing that site the flash menu up the top doesn't display, but hitting F5 brings it right up. There is a go to and play the last frame action in there. Could that be causing it? I have uploaded the file as well if anyone wants to have a look at that.Maybe someone can explain this to me Link to possible resolution. Here is a link to the page where it is in use, the site is yet to be finished.

I purchased a template from template monster. I am tweaking it, trying to replace the flash picture slider with html. I want the flash menu to remain. In my code, when a user clicks on a button, I set the alpha of the button to 50 and set enabled=0. This works to essentially disable and grey out the button. The problem is that even though the button has been disabled, it still sits in the over state until the user moves the cursor off the hit area... Funny, no?
Since you can't tell a button what frame to go to, how do I get it to go back to its up state (without recreating all my buttons as movieclips and doing the whole thing manually)?

I will try to explain my problem (I'm swedish...); If you look at the fla posted here and the trace information in the output panel when published, you see what the button is called. What I need is a way to use this info to create a code that makes the button blacked when clicked on and back to grey when some other btn is clicked.

What I'm trying to do is highlight a movieclip button when it is clicked, and then remove that highlight when another movieclip button in the same menu is clicked.I think the problem is arising from the fact that the buttons temporarily highlight when rolled over. I have used the 'ROLL_OVER', and 'ROLL_OUT' event listeners to initiate the animation, so any attempt to keep the current button highlighted is quashed when the mouse is moved off the button.here is some of the code i have used

i was trying to reproduce this nifty little effect of a springy rollover on a button, that can go from button to button, and also springs up when nothing is selected.

i'm trying to make an enter button slowy appear while loading background images..

I am creating a video and I need a play button to appear anytime someone hits the pause or stop button on the skin. Is this possible and if so does anyone have a sample code I could use. i have some preloader frustrations..dont point me to a previous preloader thread...i have been there already and no im not talking about any preloader that loads the WHOLE movie at the beginning, i know how those work... I need a tutorial/explanation that will teach me how to load a move 'button by button' or 'page by page'.
By this I mean, the first thing the movie will do is load the first 'page' and say you have a few more buttons on that 'page'. It loads all the buttons and that 'page' first..nothing else...then i click one of the buttons (no matter what order) and the 'page' switches to a preloader and then when the second 'page' is loaded, it is displayed.So many sites have this kind of preloader...but i cant believe how many tutorial sites only teach how to program the type of preloader that just loads the WHOLE movie.

In IE you can achieve this by doing the following - "Press and hold the contol button and then press the - (minus) button (Ctrl -)." or click on the view option at the top of the browser>>zoom>>zoom out.

Good day to everyone. I'm here today to seek help about Flash CS4 and ActionScript 3.0. The story starts when one day, my boss asked me to make a flash presentation about their upcoming user training for a newly developed software. I was enthusiastic and excited about it because it's been a long time that I did not use Flash (note that I don't have any experience in ActionScript 3.0). At first, everything was a bit rough as I need to recall how to properly use the frames to create a successful animation. As I was about to finish the project, my boss approached me again and asked if I could insert a menu page in front so that the users won't have to replay the whole thing again just to look for a little something on that part of the movie. So yea, at first I was abit hesitant to accept. I said that it will work with Powerpoint. But she's a total pusher and I was forced to say yes. Now I'm having this problem about how to make a flash button load a swf movie.I've tried searching all over the net for tutorials but most of the times the "getUrl" and other stuff are said to be outdated.
