ActionScript 3.0 :: Highlight The Button When The Slideshow Switches Slides

the 3 externally loaded SWFs rotate with fade in/outf effect on their own as well as per button click. What I would like to add to it is having the the buttons change appearance (Tint or anything) - just to show which slide the user is currently seeing. here's my code:

I am trying to create a slide show using actionscript that changes the images automatically. I have the script for a slide show that has buttons to let the user change the slides. It gets the images from a specified folder (which I want it to do- they are all named 1.jpeg, 2.jpeg...etc which makes it easy to update them) and loads it into an image holder named (imageHolder). There is a function called nextImage which loads the next picture, but at the moment is controlled by the buttons. I'm not sure how to get it to change images automatically using actionscript.

I am building a slide show in Flash 4. I have a series of slides that I want to automatically advance from slide to slide in order after 10 seconds. Is there a slide control in flash for this? Is there an actionscript for this?

This doesn't happen very often but if you go to [URL] and click through the slides you'll notice on occasion, a slide will stick on screen and not slide out. And then the other slides slide under the stuck slide. Obviously, this is not acceptable at all. I tried to upload the .fla but FK keeps giving me a Upload failed error. So I'll just have to include the code below. Hopefully, someone can explain to me why this is happening. Is it possible it's because people are clicking too fast and it's a Flash tweening bug?

I'm making a presentation and want to make the text of the slides appear on command.This is what I wrote on the actions layer.
1.) First frame
bg_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playSlide);
bg_mc.buttonMode = true;
function playSlide(event:Event):void[code]........
On the actions layer there's a stop "stop();" before each new layer starts. But it doesn't work. I tried to paste the code in any order but still nothing. I works on a sample fla file I got.

I have just recently returned to flash after a very looooooooong time! I moved out of the flash world a few years ago and have been working in design for print. A friend has asked me to help create a flash slideshow for them. I know how to do this using older versions of flash but there seems to be a quicker way in CS3.I have selected from the opening menu, Flash Slide Presentation.I have created my slideshow and added transitions.Everything looks great however I can only progress the slideshow using the arrow keys.My question is...Using this slideshow setting can I set my slideshow to loop through the slides automatically instead of progress with the arrow keys?

I have a few thumbnails and when you click on one the image slides in from the right. That part is fine. I have 2 movie clips, one names mc_frame01 and another mc_frame02. I've tried to set variables and arguments to make it easier when theres more mc_frameXX's. All I want the animation to do is first MC slides in from the right, pauses, then slides off to the left. Then repeat for each MC. With the code below, both MC's seem to slide in from the right at the same time and that's it.

i am working on this page: [URL] each button in the grid on the right will open up a project on the left where the news is now. however i would like to make it so that the buttons move left and right depending on how much space each project takes up (so no matter how much space the project being viewed takes, the buttons are always right next to it).

In my code, when a user clicks on a button, I set the alpha of the button to 50 and set enabled=0. This works to essentially disable and grey out the button. The problem is that even though the button has been disabled, it still sits in the over state until the user moves the cursor off the hit area... Funny, no?
Since you can't tell a button what frame to go to, how do I get it to go back to its up state (without recreating all my buttons as movieclips and doing the whole thing manually)?

When you go to each different section the content frame slides to the left regardless of what button you click.. We learned recently about buttonmode etc. and I can go to different Frames on a click.. but here it doesnt seem to go to a new frame it just loads each new clip with the same tiny effect? Is is pure scripting or how did they manage this??

I will try to explain my problem (I'm swedish...); If you look at the fla posted here and the trace information in the output panel when published, you see what the button is called. What I need is a way to use this info to create a code that makes the button blacked when clicked on and back to grey when some other btn is clicked.

What I'm trying to do is highlight a movieclip button when it is clicked, and then remove that highlight when another movieclip button in the same menu is clicked.I think the problem is arising from the fact that the buttons temporarily highlight when rolled over. I have used the 'ROLL_OVER', and 'ROLL_OUT' event listeners to initiate the animation, so any attempt to keep the current button highlighted is quashed when the mouse is moved off the button.here is some of the code i have used

i was trying to reproduce this nifty little effect of a springy rollover on a button, that can go from button to button, and also springs up when nothing is selected.

I have a menu with 5 selectable items. I would like to add a 6th. This is a side menu and they are stacked on top of each other.I would like to know how to highlight the current menu selection using flashvars and this page is html. Like I said I have searched but nothing is making sense and no one has offered to help as yet.Sometimes when I am browsing that site the flash menu up the top doesn't display, but hitting F5 brings it right up. There is a go to and play the last frame action in there. Could that be causing it? I have uploaded the file as well if anyone wants to have a look at that.Maybe someone can explain this to me Link to possible resolution. I've got a three year old site in actionscript 2 and something odd happened today.I had to change something in the fla, tested the swf and uploaded it to the server. When I test the swf in flash or just open it manually, all is fine, texts are okay.But whenever it's in a htmlpage (using swfobject or the standard flash method), all the multiline textfields turn from horizontal to vertical expanding text, so a large column of 1 character.Even my backup site acts the same way. It's driving me crazy. And my client.I installed a couple of new browsers a couple of days ago, and I remember I had to update my flashplayer. Maybe this is relevant? I just don't know.
