I want to know how to stop my random slideshow after 3 slides...
[Code]....
I am trying to create a slide show using actionscript that changes the images automatically. I have the script for a slide show that has buttons to let the user change the slides. It gets the images from a specified folder (which I want it to do- they are all named 1.jpeg, 2.jpeg...etc which makes it easy to update them) and loads it into an image holder named (imageHolder). There is a function called nextImage which loads the next picture, but at the moment is controlled by the buttons. I'm not sure how to get it to change images automatically using actionscript.
View 1 RepliesI am building a slide show in Flash 4. I have a series of slides that I want to automatically advance from slide to slide in order after 10 seconds. Is there a slide control in flash for this? Is there an actionscript for this?
View 1 RepliesThis doesn't happen very often but if you go to [URL] and click through the slides you'll notice on occasion, a slide will stick on screen and not slide out. And then the other slides slide under the stuck slide. Obviously, this is not acceptable at all. I tried to upload the .fla but FK keeps giving me a Upload failed error. So I'll just have to include the code below. Hopefully, someone can explain to me why this is happening. Is it possible it's because people are clicking too fast and it's a Flash tweening bug?

I'm making a presentation and want to make the text of the slides appear on command.This is what I wrote on the actions layer.
1.) First frame
bg_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playSlide);
bg_mc.buttonMode = true;
function playSlide(event:Event):void[code]........
On the actions layer there's a stop "stop();" before each new layer starts. But it doesn't work. I tried to paste the code in any order but still nothing. I works on a sample fla file I got.
the 3 externally loaded SWFs rotate with fade in/outf effect on their own as well as per button click. What I would like to add to it is having the the buttons change appearance (Tint or anything) - just to show which slide the user is currently seeing. here's my code:
// Attach Musicvar req:URLRequest = new URLRequest("squeeak3.mp3");var sound:Sound = new Sound();var controller:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel();
var b:Boolean;

I have just recently returned to flash after a very looooooooong time! I moved out of the flash world a few years ago and have been working in design for print. A friend has asked me to help create a flash slideshow for them. I know how to do this using older versions of flash but there seems to be a quicker way in CS3.I have selected from the opening menu, Flash Slide Presentation.I have created my slideshow and added transitions.Everything looks great however I can only progress the slideshow using the arrow keys.My question is...Using this slideshow setting can I set my slideshow to loop through the slides automatically instead of progress with the arrow keys?
View 2 RepliesI am trying to figure out how to create a flash slideshow including buttons that interact with the slides. A perfect example of what I am trying to create is the flash slideshow on the Frito Lay's website[url]....I am sure there is some action code for the button that can do this, but being to to Flash code.
View 1 RepliesI need to create an interactive slideshow where the each image automatically slides to the left every 10 seconds. There should also be the option of clicking a button to move both back and forth as well.
View 1 RepliesI'm fairly new to ActionScript 3.0 so forgive me if this question is easy, but I'm having issues with my portfolio slideshow. I have a few thumbnails and when you click on one the image slides in from the right. That part is fine. What I really want is for the user to click on a different random thumbnail and have the current image slide out as the new image slides in. My code so far:

I have 2 movie clips, one names mc_frame01 and another mc_frame02. I've tried to set variables and arguments to make it easier when theres more mc_frameXX's. All I want the animation to do is first MC slides in from the right, pauses, then slides off to the left. Then repeat for each MC. With the code below, both MC's seem to slide in from the right at the same time and that's it.

I'm using the Kirupa tutorial of the xml auto slideshow. I need it to stop after it runs through all the images one time.How should I modify the code below in order to do that

function loadXML(loaded) {

I'm using the auto slideshow with xml that you guys demo on your site (which I love BTW) -I need it to stop at the end of the last slide and the demo is set up for it to loop -It looks I need to alter the parse command but I don't know how to do that - Is there an explanation on the site of how to alter the AS so the slide show will end after it runs once through all the images?
View 2 RepliesI am loading 8 images into 8 movie clips using a random number generator. it is working but it loads in the same images in places. I need the 8 images to be different. They are being loaded from a mySQL database using php. Does anyone have any tips?
I'm using this actionscript code.
var mcLoader2:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
//set up a Listener
var mclistener2:Object = new Object();
//associate the Listener with the MCL

In this game I dynamically load 9 random pictures onto the stage. They all start off with maximum blur. The idea is that when the user hears a sentence the pictures gradually lose their blur. The sooner the correct picture is clicked on, the higher the score. My problem is, I can't stop the tween when the user clicks on a picture. I've tried it successfully on a much simpler fla, where the images are already on the stage and not loaded from an external source.
Here's my extracted code - the source fla is way too long to attach.
Actionscript Code:
import mx.transitions.Tween;
import mx.transitions.easing.Strong;
import flash.filters.*;
import mx.controls.Loader;
var totalBlur:Number = 100;//100 is maximum blur,

i am using a slideshow template that I purchased and I wanted to get the images to load randomly, I contacted the author but he wants me to pay him extra for this and I have no money left for this project.basically, I'm looking to add a line to this as2 file that would make the images load randomly without repeating and then start over when the cycle completes. I tried putting in an array but it caused all kinds of errors.
View 8 RepliesI am using a random slideshow on the homepage of my website. It worded perfect when I was testing it locally, but now that I've uploaded it to an external server which is a bit slower, and there is a delay between loading images. Here's the work in progress site: [url]... I know it has to do with the way the actionscript is written, and the order in which functions are carried out. I just cant seem to get it to function the way I would like it to. I would like it to immediately load the first image and display it, then while that first image is displayed I would like it to load the second image. Right now it waits until the first image finishes displaying to load the next image.
View 4 RepliesI have made a random image loader for a slideshow, but the preloader does not work for it (I grabed the preloader from a previous website I made) Is there a way to preload the images or the slideshow and/or have the next image pre-load while the current image is playing. I have attached a zip file of the random image loader

I have a library of about 70 movie clips of company logos that fade in and fade out...I wanted to make a sort of 'random slideshow' of all the move clips, so I went ahead and copied the actionscript code for a timer that would (ideally) delay the time that it takes for the next clip to load.
Problem is, the timer starts up first thing rather than after a clip has played, and the clips then play at the same time. The actionscript is on frame one of the Flash movie (there are about 70 clips, for the example I'm working on I'm just using 3 to start with):
stop();
function wait() {
for (i=25; i<=27 {
_root.attachMovie("my"+i+"_clip","new"+i+"clip", i);
clearInterval(myTimer);
i++;
}}
myTimer = setInterval(wait, 4000);
how can i make this slideshow [URL] to load the jpg's in random way ?

I've created a flash slideshow with a fade-in fade-out effect that pulls a random image from a file containing a bunch of images from an XML file.Now what I'm trying to do is create some type of array that would generate those random images but maybe only 10 or so and just play those 10 images so that there aren't any duplicates one after another from pulling a random image from the file every time.
View 3 RepliesI have an XML slideshow displaying random images.
It works but sometimes duplicates the same images or displys the same image way more than the others...
Is there an action I can call so ALL my images play once in random order, before they get to be displayed for a 2nd time?[code]...
I was wondering how would i go about making a simple application that can be run on a website that can:
-show a opening page that will stay for 5 seconds (for advertisments)
-show random pictures (well they will only be text)
-can change slide by clicking on screen.
Testing locally works fine but as soon as its on a server - published live - the images load random. It loads fine when you publish in flash.
Here is the code and below is the file she sent me.
Code: Select allthis._lockroot = true;
import mx.transitions.Tween;
import mx.transitions.easing.*;
var myShowXML = new XML();

What i would like to know is following:I got 10 images inside swf's, named from 00.swf to 09.swf, how do i make another movieclip, load them, display them in a slideshow where they fade from image to image randomly, and when the image is not shown, it should be unloaded. I used .swf file because i got effects on the images.
View 1 RepliesI'm working on a random slideshow gallery that uses xml to populate the mc, and it works great, but now i want to add a fade-in effect for each 1 of the pics, or maybe a cross-fade,this is the script i have so far.[code]...
View 2 RepliesI was using Emre Biberoglu's excellent slideshow as a base for a slideshow. Worked absolutely great, until my client asked for the slideshow to display the images in random order.

I tried modifying the values that define the current image to something like: (Math.floor(Math.random() * nodeCount); to generate a random number as it is a common technique which worked well for me in the past.The code is pretty clean, but for some reason, every attempt I made, the image number displayed doesn't match the image shown.
