ActionScript 2.0 :: Random Pictures Loaded On Stage - Stopping Blur Tween

In this game I dynamically load 9 random pictures onto the stage. They all start off with maximum blur. The idea is that when the user hears a sentence the pictures gradually lose their blur. The sooner the correct picture is clicked on, the higher the score. My problem is, I can't stop the tween when the user clicks on a picture. I've tried it successfully on a much simpler fla, where the images are already on the stage and not loaded from an external source.

I am creating one movieclip function to use filter inside it. Scenario is I have alert_win (movieClip to show alerts). By default I disable its visibility and then call on some function. Now everything works fine except one thing. I want to draw blur effect on loaded background under that movie clip "alert_win". How can I blur the whole stage except loaded movieclip? Also "alert_win" movieClip is dragable. And on close button of that movie clip I am removing its visibility off.

How to stop the next tween action to start until the previous tween completes playing in as3.0?and also i want to stop the tween to happen on the same object twice.Basically i have a container (movie-clip) in which there are n number of movie-clips (arranged as bricks). When i click on the container the target (brick) will disappear (made scaleX and alpha to 'o'). also i am tracking how many bricks are closed.But the problem is if i do a fast double click the tween seems to happen twice. and the count also seems to increase for the same brick.

I want to know how to create a tween so that at start of it my movieclip called myBox will be at say 6 blur on the x and y. Then at end of tween it is at 0. And I need to be able to say how long it goes for. I have a tween already that makes it move, that was easy but making it blur as well isn't easy. How to do this?

When I try to create a tween for the blur, so it will blur into focus, the tween just wont work. I go to frame 130, keyframe, add blur filter, create clasic tween. But when i go to frame 131 it instantly pops into focus instead of going along the tween time span to blur in gradually(I have the next keyframe at 160).

I am in CS5 on an iMac. I am a beginner at Flash and trying to learn how to do specific tasks asked of me by my supervisor just by using the Adobe forums. This is what they want me to do: Show am image of a postcard that we sell, then have it morph into a poster (much larger) with a customizable area highlighted. I have learned how to put the postcard image on the stage and motion tween it to a larger version of itself, but I need that larger version to actually be a different image. Is there a way I can do this in CS5?

I'm having a lot of trouble stopping motion tweens.(No troubles with a Classic Tweens).When I have a layer with the animation, and then use the code snippets to insert a stop(); ...it won't stop. If I create a layer below the motion tween, put a keyframe in and place a stop there, it stops just fine.However, I've been told this isn't correct,that all actions should happen on the Actions layer.

I'm loading an XML file with a series of pictures. The pictures cycle through on a timer of about 3 seconds. The pictures load with an alpha of 0 and there is a tween to fade them in. The problem I'm having is trying to tween them back out to a value of 0. (My function fadeOut never fires (no trace))

I have a simple tween that runs over 50 frames, there is no stop action so it loops, just what I want. I have placed an invisible button over the tweened animation, now here's my question: When I click on the invisible button the animation stops and when I click on it again, it restarts. So that's it really, can this be done? I know how to stop the animation by putting a stop in the action script, so I am looking for some actionscript that works on an alternative click method if I am making myself clear?
Example: First click stops it, second click starts it, third click stops it fourth click starts it - this goes on forever.

I have a game where the player movement is dynamic but have the same template, so the movement is performed by a Tween() with changing variables. next I create a listener for the "TweenEvent.MOTION_FINISH" event of that tween, the purpose for that listener is because when the movement animation ends I call a function to show the player his next movement options.

here's the thing: in some cases, randomly, when the player performs a move the tween just stops suddenly, this is problematic for two reasons: first the player character stops in the middle of a movement, secondly the "TweenEvent.MOTION_FINISH" event is not thrown and the function that show the player his next movement options is not called.

edit2: Well I found out what was wrong. answered my own question. * Face-palm* sorry for this waste of space. (if you come across this randomly, my solution is answered at the bottom)Edit: While mulling over my code trying to find a solution, I noticed that when my .swf freezes as it is tweening out, an animated movie clip that is on the stage also freezes mid-animation. which brings me to believe that my problems may stem from the loading/creating image portion of my code. as a result, here is my loading function to supplement the code below:

I am loading 8 images into 8 movie clips using a random number generator. it is working but it loads in the same images in places. I need the 8 images to be different. They are being loaded from a mySQL database using php. Does anyone have any tips?

When you click on the top clip, which simulates the back of a card, the card turns over to reveal the image on the front.Now all this works fine in the demo movie I have constructed in order to present the problem in a simplified way for the Kirupa forum (The actual movie is a bit more involved, so I have just concentrated on the problem area.) The BIG problem I have got is that the cards are supposed to tween into a new position once they have been turned by the user & a button is pressed.What happens now is if you press the button before turning the cards the whole tween works fine. Press the button after turning the card & it will NOT work!ere is an online demo of the movie. I would have liked to include the fla, but it is showing as too large @226KBCode for first frame of movie:

ActionScript 3.0 :: Tween Stop Stuttering - Pictures Disappear And The Color Bars Start Roaming Again

I'm fairly new to AS3 and I'm trying to make a pretty complicated (for me) set of behaviors. You can see what I'm trying to do here: [URL]. The Main class sets up the crosshair, the navigation, the color bars that randomly roam the stage, and the 3 words that float around. The idea is that when you hover over a word, the color bars split apart like a curtain and two random pictures appear. Then, when you roll off the word, the pictures disappear and the color bars start roaming again.

I've got the color bars, the floating words, and the curtain split working great. My problem is bringing in the pictures. For whatever reason, 60 to 70% of the time the tween stops before it is complete. I think it has something to do with the fact that I've got a hover on a piece of text, and the mouse sometimes slips into the empty spaces between the letters, but even when I put a semi-transparent rectangle over the whole word to act as a hit area I got the same results. This the the project in a nutshell. The website has inventory that has three pictures for each piece of inventory that's paths are stored in a SQL database. Now when a piece of inventory is clicked it goes to the page that the slideshow will be located. Here is where the 3 pictures will be playing in a loop. The problem is I don't know how I'm going to get to pictures loaded into the .swf. XML is out of the question because I have 143,000 pieces of inventory and I don't want to have that many XML files. Is there a way I can access the database directly and pull the paths from there?

I have a homepage with five "links" to each swf. Now the first swf I have a custom cursor that hides the mouse. When I click on that link it plays and when I quickly go to the homepage again it hides the mouse there when it's not supposed to do it.

Same with every other link. When I was busy with the first swf and want to go to the last swf of the five, my mouse just disappears! It is almost as if it keeps on "playing" without seeing the swf...
