I developed a flash app and i need the functionality when I click on a sprite I want to open a web page in browser for example [URL]. I use flex sdk 4.5 and I changed the use-network tag from false to true in flex-config.xml. But when i compile my project and load the swf in browser I get everything blank. I tried also to use html page with swf embeded but same result

One application JEE / Flex 4 running on a tomcat, inside my Flex layer I have a iFrame passing a url to an ip of my internal network (http:url....) which is another application running within an industrial PLC.When access this app from within my internal network works fine, but when I try to access this iFrame to an external network in my home for example have a timeout error onhttp:[url].........
I believe this error occurs because the flex client is trying to run this url as I was in a internal network.Is there any way to run this url from an external network?

The HTML wrapper page does contain the flash application, but the content is blank, even though I have a simple label component on the stage.Also I noticed that when I right-click on the flash object, the default context menu appears, displaying the "Zoom In", "Zoom Out", "Show All", etc..options which are removed from the application by default.If you are interested, here is my code, as easy as it gets. :)

I have a flex Air program that loads external content with the HTMLLoader.Now for some reason whenever I load a page that has any flash content a blank system window pops up outside of my program. It's completely blank, all white with min, max and close buttons.If I close it any flash content I loaded stops working. For the life of my I can't figure out what's happening and there's no messages in the console and no title for the window.

I've been adding some components to a Flex 4 app (it was originally Flex 3 but has been ported). Some of these components make the app go blank when it loads. I'm not even able to see the loading progress bar. Just white.
For example, adding

To the root tag causes this. I also was able to make it happen when I tried setting a custom components skin from my style sheet instead of from the skinClass property.
I was editing a very basic mobile Flex project, and after I debugged the master (application) mxml file, Design View stopped working (blank screen displayed, no Design View errors) for all files. Creating new projects, either mobile or else, or testing old, working projects, doesn't work either. Out of the related issues I've found info on, most concern earlier versions of the IDE, and deal with either Design View errors (got none), use of certain functions or custom components (I get the error even on a new project), or are solved by changing styles back-and-forth (tried already, to no avail).
I can't drag and drop components to the design area, either (a "prohibited" symbol appears and nothing happens when I drop); so I'm pretty sure it's not code-related or a bug, but probably something stupid, like a configuration issue, so I definitely need someone to take a fresh look at it.
I would like to list all network shares but have no idea where to even begin my search, I assume that it has something to do with Samba etc., but really some guidance would be very useful.
I will be using Adobe AIR 2.5 - so I assume I have access to that sort of information, though I will be using the PlayBook from BlackBerry to access the network which has a full AIR implementation.
What is the reason Flash Builder 4's Network Monitor does not support applications that were created using pure ActionScript and Library projects? It seems to work only for Flex projects.

StackOverflow community,[URL].. used to launch AIR applications from Flex applications requires the use of an air.swf file located here:[URL].. We have tried to download this SWF and use it in our internal network, but it is not working, we depend on using the one located in the Adobe site.
Is there anyway to use this air.swf file without having to access the Adobe site?
For example, in local network, when Adobe Air is reading files from local server (\Serverstorage) and network will be in down for a second, Air becomes eat a lot of memory and it is increasing up to 1GB (while normal memory use is 100 kb or less).Just reading file with File('file path on local server'); from unstable network can cause this error.
Have anybody seen that in projects?

I am having a strange issue in my flex app. I have a Video element that loads an FLV file from the same directory as the SWF app. If I move my SWF and FLV to a local directory on my computer and load the SWF in my browser, the video plays without any issues. However, if I move the same collection of files (SWF, FLV, HTML) to a network share, the video no longer loads.

Again, I only have this issue when loading content from a network share.

On this button click a request is sent to server and the response must be read in the same call.This is important not to wait for response with event handler (which is trivial).Basically this is synchronous call.I am ok with blocking ui and so on.

I have a flex component, a VBox, that has content inside it. Text components mainly.The VBox is holding a report that I want to be able to save to PDF. I am using AlivePdf to achieve this but the PDF produced is blank when viewed in Adobe reader (latest version).When I open the PDF in Notepad++ I can see that there is definitely content in there and the file appears to be structured correctly.This is the method I am using to generate the PDF:

I am querying a 3rd party web service and not all the data seems to be making it to the event handler. When I view the request/response in the Network Monitor I see a collection of data objects each containing two string variables (name, url) and two arrays (counts, breakdown). When the result handler receives the data and I view it in debug mode, the collection of data objects each only contains one string variable (name). What happened to the other string var (url) and both arrays (counts, breakdown)? what would cause this since it seems to becoming corrupt before it reaches the event handler but after it is received by the network? Is this most likely an IDE issue?
View 1 RepliesI've been using the Flex "HTML" component in my AIR 2.7 project. It's a wrapper for the HtmlLoader class. The problem is that empty referers in HTML headers are automatically set to "app://[appname].swf". This is not standard as default referer behavior should be to not set any referer at all. The consequence is I'm getting denied access on certain websites using iframes (as location changes from an iframe set an empty referer). I have no control over those requests has no event is fired when changed the source of an iframe.
I have thought about the possibility of intercepting all network calls and setting the referer to empty when necessary before sending the message. My app is only a container in wich a module is loaded for easier updates so maybe I could set up a proxy on top or something like that. Is there any way to intercept network messages in Flex??

where i developed an app that uses the webcam, adds an image and then takes a picture, well, i implemented textbook style the printjob, and well everytime after printing my swf goes blank. http:[url]...........But now i have been continuing testing, and i found out, that if i print from another application and then comeback, my video stream from the webcam is blank, this has no sense at all, since i am printing from another app. http:[url]....What is going on here i mean, this must be a flash player issue right.

I've recently started using FDT, for a while I was using FlashDevelop, it had a really handy feature in Compiler options where you can set UseNetworkServices to false which would stop the compiled swf from connecting to the internet and became very useful for running standalone flash apps without security warnings when loading in an external xml file etc.

View 3 RepliesI have an mx:TileList which is bound to an ArrayCollection.I have some code that displays a "Loading..." message before modifying the ArracyCollection and some code after that hides the loading message.For small data sets, it works fine. However, I noticed with an array size of about 50~ and larger, flex will hide my loading message before the TileList is finished rendering the new data and I'm left with a blank screen for an odd second.Is there an event I can listen to that is called after the TileList is finished re-rendering? Code looks something like this:

In this example, loading_message appear, disappear, and then the flex app will lag before finally revealing the updated TileList.
I am using an mx:DataGrid with a dataProvider to display Rows. I have checked the no of rows in my array ( which is 8 ) and the no of rows in the dataGrid. They both match, however I always get an extra blank row at the end of my data grid. How can I remove this row?

The code is creating the IList correctly, and I can access the data inside just fine.

Since my application contains SWC files which were compiled by another developer, I cannot directly access the ActionScript which creates the URL requests and RTMP connections.
I am passing a string param into flex application as FlashVars.The param sometime contains special characters, everything shows fine except + sign which gets replaced by blank when it reaches flex.Here is the scenario for eg.I have a local variable in JS that gets some values and for this example it can be taken as following
var testVar = "some_test_string_that_contains_+_character";
Then to my Flex object AC_FL_RunContent I pass "FlashVars","test="+testVar
In the flex code on Init of application I have written

Now this shows fine except the + character gets replaced by blank. It doesnt happens with other characters like /,@$-_ but the + character.
