Is flash the best bet to keep images from being stolen? Is there any way to steal images from websites that use flash to display images. I heard that we can use firebug to download flash images. Is this correct?

How is something like this achieved ? How does image scrambling work ? I've noticed the image is stored a bitmap. Not sure how information is stored.I imagine it would be possible to use something like AS3SWF to access the content of a swf, but what would I need to change for the image swf tags ? I don't know much about security/obfuscation/encryption, so any tips will be handy. The programming language for this shouldn't matter much.
I have images that I need to manage access to. I've come across osmf and rtmp streaming which are flash/adobe technologies and would require me to install a special server. Anyone knows of other ways to get the same effect with php.By "manage access to" I mean that the average user would not be able to save the page and save the image with it. If they want to view the image again, they would have to revisit, re-request it. Flash streaming server offers that, but are there non-flash/adobe solutions to compare it to.
"Give up" is not something you say to your employer who is a publisher and has legalrequirements to protect the IP other entities license to them. Sorry, but I don't make management decisions, and I'm not a lawyer. I work in the technical department and need to find the best technical solutions to what's being asked. If it still fails occassionally, I would say this is the best technology has now, and I've given it to you. I don't want to be found personally negligible when I should have done my best. Some people don't seem to have real jobs?
I've meade a .exe file with Flash 4. Everithing is ready and OK but I need to protect the images from being copied. How can I avoid the viewer to use the Print Screen key to copy the JPG's?

View 2 RepliesI have used settings.xml file in my swf file. Now i am very sure, somebody can grab the swf file, decompile it and get the full path of the settings.xml file. If they can do that, they can see everything inside the settings.xml file which contains lots of thing. Now my question is how to protect that xml file from getting grabbed when typed the full URL. One solution is to ecrypt/obfuscate the swf file, but i don't trust them fully. If given a little time, I can myself decrypt the swf.

These methods should only return values only if user is authorized(bought license from online service) for security purpose. So I am planning to add another SWC on top of this, which have all the licensing code stuff. But when I import the Alchemy generated swc inside my custom swc, all the methods of alchemy are exposed.

Assuming this means I need to take some sort of precautions to prevent the file being decompiled and the font extracted, is there any way of enforcing this?

I develop applications with Flash, AS 3.0 and PHP. I need to give the source code to my clients. But once I give them the source code they can also re-sell the applications to other people. So, I have deceided to use some code hiding process so that without my permission the application will not run in any server. In that case I am ready to keep informations in my server. Only my direct client will be able to run the file once they have registered their domain name and other info into my server.

For example, a user thinks up a password on the spot, types it in, hits a SET button and the mc cannot be disabled without re-entering the correct password. In the demo version of FMS 3.5 for interactive broadcasting stream audio and video can be copied by means of such programs as Comtasia. This may not like the content holders. Perhaps there are some instruments of protection.

View 7 RepliesI have found heaps of preloaders that work on the time line of game but offer no protection.Does anyone know where I can get a sample code for this or where I can buy a preloader from so that it loads before the game and if someone tries to save the page they get the preloader instead of the SWF? flash designer I know said its possible but hasn't got time to create one. He gave me this code in a FLA but when I embedd the swf in to the site it doesn't load anything just displays the preloader
