If I send you byte[] for all the method calls on Remote Objects - will you be able to convert it to domain objects?

Sep 14, 2011I have an object being passed between flash and flex using the a custom event. I am importing a library in flex containing a copy of the object's class. The classes are identical. But when I attempt to access the object in flex I get this error:
TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert com.cackleberries.data.api::ApiObject$ to com.cackleberries.data.api.ApiObject.
This function is passed into flash as a callback from AIR / flex

I am getting the error when I pass the apiobject to serverApi.makeApiCall. That function takes a ApiObject as its parameter. Initially, the data object is created with with the apiObject key with a ApiObject as the value (done in flash).

The same POJOs, the domain objects, were passed in the service-facade as those used as DTOs passed to the Hibernate DAOs.However, the latest few days I have been thinking whether this is a good approach or not. Flash :: Get All Shared Objects For Current Domain?
Aug 5, 2010Using SharedObject.getLocal I can get access to what appears to be an infinite number of files simply by using unique identifiers in the method call; What I want to know is how can I retrieve a list of all active files or shared objects that have been saved for my current domain.
I'm trying to write a save game mechanism that allows you to save your game (potentially many megabytes) so using a single shared object seems like it might cause performance issues however if I use multiple objects I'm not sure how I'd find out what has been saved without using an object just to specify the id's of the other saves - then my question becomes what happens if this "header" object is removed or deleted - how can the player access the other files?

Local disk space considerations. Local shared objects have some limitations that are important to consider as you design your application. Sometimes SWF files may not be allowed to write local shared objects, and sometimes the data stored in local shared objects can be deleted without your knowledge. Flash Player users can manage the disk space that is available to individual domains or to all domains. When users decrease the amount of disk space available, some local shared objects may be deleted. Flash Player users also have privacy controls that can prevent third-party domains (domains other than the domain in the current browser address bar) from reading or writing local shared objects.

Jan 8, 2008This is a two fold query involving the same issue. As you know, if you attempt to use bitmap.draw() with an object (image or swf) that is not in the same domain as the calling swf the bitmap will not draw. As described by Adobe livedocs, if Security.allowDomain() is setup in the calling swf then draw() will work. However, I cannot get this method to work. I have supplied an example fla (make sure to get the .as for it too).
1. How do I get Security settings right to permit bitmap.draw() to work with objects from another domain? (not any domain - just the domain I define in the allowDomain parameter)
2. How do I setup an event handler (listener) for bitmap.draw() so I can detect when it doesn't draw?

Flex :: 0-byte In Size When I Build A Component Using Compc?
Sep 9, 2009I'm building a flex .swc library using Ant, and many of the assets that are supposed to be in the file are not being copied, instead creating 0-byte entries in the .swc.Here is the ant compc target that is doing the creation. I've tried both compiler.include-libraries and compiler.library-path here, which is why the latter is still present and commented out. Neither worked.

Flex :: Place Images Byte Into String Is Not Working?
May 10, 2010I tried on Flex 3, facing issue with uploading JPG/PNG image, trace readUTFBytes would return correct bytes length but tmpFileContent is trucated, it would only appear to have upload just 3 characters of data to the server through PHP script which made image unusable.I have no issue for non-images format. What is wrong here?

Feb 3, 2011I am trying to send a bytearray extracted from a file to the C code and return that bytearray again from the C code..I am printing the contents of the return value from C in a text view contents.text but all i can see is the byte array object "OggS". I can't see the contents of the byte array. Can anyone say where i am going wrong?.. I have posted the C code and the AS code.

So, Using the Camera/Camera roll [URL]I want to do a simple upload using amfphp Note: Since this is how you get pictures on devices, i cant use the filreference because it wants you to get the pictures using "browse" which cant be done on android or ios My plan is, after I select a picture or capture one with the camera, in the event I can get the local url to the picture that was taken like this:

I'm putting this in the imageURL var (i'm assuming i should make it into a byte array to transfer it, im not exactly sure this is my first time making something like this)Here's how i'm taking that image, making it into a byte array, and using amfphp to send the upload to the server:

But i'm getting an error NetConnection.Call.BadVersion.This is the first time im trying something like this so im not even really sure if im going about it right. All the examples I find online go about using the fileReference class, but that seems to require me to use the "browse" method, and im on a mobile application that uses the camera and camera roll to grab pictures off the device, and im not sure how to incorporate that into the fileref class. I figured i could just get the byte array and send it to php myself and it should be just fine.

Apr 23, 2009We are running FMS3 on Windows 2003 Server. Videos stream and play fine when inside our domain, but outside the domain the videos take anywhere from 20 or more seconds before playing.
After analizing the connections it was determined that the player is randomly trying to access ports until it gets to the one that works, but this is ONLY happening from people trying to view videos from outside our domain.

So why does the Adobe Alchemy Tool create so much faster running flash byte code than the flex compiler?
Also, when will the flex compiler be able to make similar performance gains? Will it require programmer specific use of special Array's or something of that nature to get the same performance?

The problem is the class does not convert it to array if there is only 1 node. I tried to modify it without success.
