I have a flex datagrid in a popupwindow.That datagrid should be empty means there is no dataprovider.User will provide data.For that purpose I have to make datagrid columns editable.I tried with editable property.It is not working.And also one more requirment is whenever user completed entering of first row data,next row has to be displayed with empty cells.

View 1 RepliesI have some data passed into the flex via webservices, and want to create a timetable. As of current, I have a timetable but the day is a column, time is a column and so on, by mapping the datafield to those columns.
I need to flip this around and have all day columns and one time column, with each day column filter to the day property, if you get what i mean. HOw would i go about doing this? Is there a datafield property to filter this way, or is there a better way?

But I want to get this all together. Can we have multiple itemrenderer for any datagrid column?
I have a data-grid which has data form a data base being printed into it. I have a function so that when I click any row of data in the grid the data is then printed into a form so I can edit and update it. Problem is that if I click a row of the data-grid that has no information it I am given an error.

The problem is, when the "mainLoop.swf" file loads it obliterates my main UI SWF instead of attaching itself to a particular spot on the UI. So one SWF is replacing the other.
I tried it and it just doesnt work, it creates the first one but the other five dont work and createTextField wont work after the first createmovieclip.

I hsve a setp where a couple of classes inherit from a base class (events, plus common math). All derived classes implement the same set of methods. Another part of the program wants to instantiate any of these classes. So far I was creating empty functions in the base class and overriding them. Could an interface improve on that? I tried to list the common functions in an interface and use that as a datatype, but that would not let me use functions that the base class already inherits, in particular event dispatcher. Would I need to add these to the interface?

View 1 RepliesI am working on a problem since a week soon, but I still couldn't make it work as expected. I have a DataGrid which has HBox with a CheckBox an a Label as itemRenderer (see Code below). When I tap in to the Cell the standard itemEditor pops up and lets you enter the content of the label. Thats the standard behavior. I works fine except for 2 problems:
If I enter to much text, the horizontal srollbar pops up, and the cell is filled with that scrollbar. As you see I tried to set the horizontalScrollPolicy to off, but that doesnt work at all... I tried to do that for all the different elements, but the failure is still existent. When I have filled more than one row, there is an other mistake happening. If I tap on a row, the datagrid selects the one below that row. That's only if one line is already selected. If I tap outside the datagrid and then, tap at any row the itemEditor of the right row will show up... Is there anything now wright in the setup of my set data method?

- Division
- Members
Both have single columns. Selecting one item from Divsions datagrid should display members of that Division in the Members datagrid. But following code has some problem and Members of a particular division do not show up when respective Divsion is clicked.

When i click on a particular dataItem, the corresponding website must open. I have tried dgPosts.selectedItem.name but its not working.
For poor performance reasons, the DataGrid will cache checkboxes and reuse them for different rows. If you have 50 rows, it won't create 50 checkboxes. It will create as many checkboxes at are visible, plus a few more for padding, and then reuse them as you scroll. This is why you need to explicitly manage their state. How can improve it ? How can fixed checkbox value ? i used checkbox like below But checkbox doesnot remembering the values

following this code, still in the for loop, i tried to create an empty movie clip, which loads a secondary swf, called "button.swf". as follows

so...when i run the movie, it all appears blank. just for your information, if i take the whole ''movie clip creation'' bit out of the whole loop, it works fine. just once, but fine you got the idea what i'm trying to do here.. it's a list of buttons... because i don't want to use the list component. anyway, continuing. i don't know how to make it work. i've been guessing the problems might be with the same instance myMC bit, and i don't know how to create a different one each time(i've been trying though ) or with the depth..which still i can't figure it out.

I am attempting to style the headers in a flex datagrid and I keep getting the warning:

What does this mean? I have gone through a bunch of tutorials and none of them have worked. It seems like changing a the colors in a datagrid should be relatively simple.

in Flex I have something like that: [code]and dg is ALWAYS pointing at DataGrid (even if dg1 has name DataGrid_test and dg2 = DataGrid_test2) and finally action is made on my first DataGrid (DataGrid_test).[code]and search still points at ColorColumn :/ My problem is really easy- I just want to pass to search different dataGrid on each state.But still I don't understand why it doesn't work. My search function uses algorhitm Boyer-Moor for searching through dataGrid.dataProvider for some text. If it find something then it is pushed into new array and after passing whole dataProvider I colorize rows with searched word.
