I have a advancedDatagrid with column headers having input text boxes for filtering.The column is filtered according to input text when I use characters as data inside that column.But when I use numbers in the column field,filtering does not happen.Can anyone tell me what went wrong.

I want to build an application using air. The application should load the flashlog file and display the contents after performing some text filtering.But when i load the application this clears my flashlog.txt though my file mode is READ.I can understand that running my air application clears the flashlog and prepares it for new logging. Is there a workaround for this.I dont want to open the flashlog file everytime and check for traces from my web application

In my AdvancedDataGrid, I am adding dynamic values to cells by dragging a cell value to other cells. While copying, I am setting the value to listData and setting the Red color to the value in ItemRenderer. Everything is working fine, but when I scroll down/up, the values remains in the cells where thay are supposed to be(as I am setting to listData) but the coloring behaves wierd(as I am trying to set the color in ItemRenderer).
I don't want to store the color of the value, but I should be able to see the dynamically created values in Red color. Is there a way, I can do this? Do I need to set the color to actual dataprovider object and then check in ItemRenderer?

I am trying to overlay a label onto an AdvancedDataGrid when there are no results returned from a call for the data. Here is a mockup of what I am trying to accomplish [URL]. I tried following this previous answer: Drawing an overlay in custom flex component, but this would not work for me because an AdvancedDataGrid is not a Container (and as such does not have a rawChildren property). I would prefer not to need to mess with the data provider, because this table will be used in many location which will have different columns and labelFields.

I need to put together an editable text area that has a custom caret (cursor) which is different from the default blinking vertical line. Is the caret a "skinnable" property of text input? note that I am not asking about the mouse pointer cursor which can be set using the CursorManager.

The input_1 box has a 13 character limit. My initial font size is 200, i want to scale down so when the user types 10 letters they fit the box and they don't go out of screen. I want to use one line, so wrap or multiline is not possible.

im trying to output my database information in a text input field in flex by using remoteObject(cfc). The information is being provided by a database using a query and an array collection. However, if I don't copy the collection any filters applied will be reflected in all the screens and this is not the behavior I need.

My xml looks liks this:

When the e4x statement is run, I get an error message:
Error #1065: Variable @min is not defined.
But if I change my statement to model.config.source.fees..fee.@min it will return an xmllist of all the min attribute values, so min is defined, at least in that statement. Why doesnt the original statement work?
In Flex 4 I have a list where every product in it is rendered through an ItemRenderer. Now, when I filter the list I want to fadeout the products that are removed. I can't add the fadeout effect to the hideEffect of the item renderer since renderers are being reused. Anyone a valid (easy) solution on how the fadeout the products correctly.

Doing so will apply you score data (time elapsed, date, correct answers and percentage) along with the name you typed in, and output in a form, that you can save or print off, or whatever. The problem is, the input text box will not let you type in it. If you mouse over it, the mouse stays a pointer, you don't get the text tool. If you click on it, the cursor appears for a split second after you release the mouse button, but you cannot type anything in it.This is the actionscript for the output form:

Because the image is scaled, there are a lot of scaling artifacts. Can I change the image to use a different type of filtering?

I have the following situation: have a screen with 4 charts, each being populated with 59 array collections. Each array collection has 2000+ data points. This construct needs to be filtered(by time), but the problem I'm encountering is the fact that it takes a long time for the filtering to finish (which is to expected given the amount of data points that need to filtered).
Filtering one chart at a time is not option, so I wanted to ask you what do you think would be the best approach? (should I use vector instead?). To generalize this question what would be the best way to filter large collections in flex/as3?
