Flex :: Fixed Y-axis Width In Columnchart

I'm using a flex columnchart to display data, that changes at runtime. It works perfectly, except the fact, that the y-axis with is automatically resized when the values goes under 1.For example first the values of the charts are between 0 and 10. The y-axis now has labels like 0,1,2,3,4...10. If the values are going under 1 the labels are updated to 0.0, 0.1, 0.2...1.0. And because of the width of the labels, the group with the charts is resized.It looks like the chart is "jumping".So, I need a way, to set a fixed width of the y-axis of the chart.

I need to create a custom y-axis in a columnChart that resembles a tall / skinny VBox (sorry can't post pictures) and has the axis labels (20, 40, 60, 80, 100) inside the axis.By default, the y-axis is a line and I have found methods of making the line thicker but I need the labels inside the axis.I have tried using the AxisRenderer class but can not find any good examples on the proper use.

I have a neat chart that is rendering overlaid columns with values in excess of 6000 but my vertical axis stays at 0-100, as if my dataProvider was being ignored.
The problem here is with "msAxis" autoAdjust didn't change anything. Do I need to force its values manually?

I'm trying to have a line chart with a fixed y-axis. that is, I have values that are mostly between 30 and 70, but I'd like to have the chart y-axis as a constant between 0 and 100 so it wouldn't resize as new values are coming in (if they happen to be larger than previous values).

When using a Flex chart, the y-axis is drawn as a thick (about 8px) grey line. Is it possible to change this to be just a thin line like the x-axis?

I nedd to build a "See if you have the right weight" wheel in Flash. It have to be a small wheel over a bigger one. The top one have to be drag and drop like it was pined to the other one, so it rotates around the center axis (when click and drag with the mouse over), allowing us to match the scales in the wheels as we like.
I've found a lot of tuturials about drag and drop objects in Flash, but freely, not around a fixed center axis.

I am seeking the answer form the brain trust at FK. I am making a quick flash movie.. which has an 'lcd screen' display.. that needs to have numbers/timer being displayed on it..
I have found a few of these LCD/CALCULATOR font types.. and thought I had one that would work.. but it does not. I need a fixed width font..(in hopes) so that when I animate it..

will keeps it positioning! and NOT change 'alingment' when (say) a 0 becomes a 1. this shifts the whole textField. my questions are:
1.) is there a fixed width type font or other trick? (using the spacing or A/V parameter) to keep the characters in their positions? or will I need to break everything up and use individual text fields..and parse/split the numbers from the string?

I have a custom alert box I wrote. It has an optional second button. I use the alert box in various ways which may or may not need the second button.Previously I was creating and adding the button dynamically, but because flash is so slow I have to preload the alert with two buttons. So there are always two buttons in this alert view. So if I have an alert with both an action button and a cancel button, then I have an alert with just a cancel button I want to hide the action button. However if I set the action button to hidden it still throws off the alginment of the cancel button in my HGroup because it's still taking up space even though it's not there. If I set the width of the action button to 0 then I am using a fixed with and whenever I need to use it again I will have to manually calculate the width of the button!! Is there a way to set the width to 0 then set it like it never had a width at all?

I'm using a Flex ColumnChart with a custom dataTipRenderer. I'm able to apply a nice skin with the dataTipRenderer, but am not sure how to move the datatip to be centered. Is there a way to have the chart center the data tips over the column instead of the normal top-right alignment the chart does?

When using a ColumnChart created in Flex 3, how can I to change the fill color of columns that meet a certain criteria?
Example: I have 8 columns representing agreement percentages between groups of people and want to change the fill color (or otherwise highlight) of all the columns that have over 80% agreement.

I can't seem to figure out why, but the label on my ColumnSeries always seems to get truncated regardless of how wide the column is. I've tried setting the labelSizeLimit to an arbitrarily large number, but that doesn't seem to help

Here is my Problem: I'm currently using a ColumnChart to display 6 label/value pairs. When two labels are the same, the chart stacks them up, one on top of the other. I want to display these duplicates side by side, their value might be the same or it might be distinct. My first thought was to append a unique id to the label, but that's not possible according to the client. So, is there a way to tell the chart to also take a hidden id into consideration? Someone suggested to do some sort of grouping, but I need to display each chart separate, as if they were distinct charts.

Columns of columnChart are showing too narrow if i am using the LinearAxis, even tried columnWidthRatio = 0.95 for category axis, this is fine

Is there a way I can stop a single word splitting over two lines when putting dynamic text into a fixed width, multiline text field?I have a simple method of checking if there are more lines than words and then running a while loop to reduce the font size until there are the same amount or less lines than words. But this doesnt always work, if say the final word of three is quite short and the second word splits over two lines then I still have 3 words and 3 lines.

Probably a dumb question, but is it possible to monospace(fixed width) a font which is not monospace? I hate all the monospace fonts and was wondering if it is at all possible. I know you can set letterSpacing, but it wouldn't matter unless I could find the width of each letter and set the letterSpacing for each individual letter based on its width.If it is not possible, does anyone know of any monospace fonts that looks close to Myriad Pro or Comic Sans MS? Closest I could find was Monaco (a font from Apple that I had to download).

THe problem i am having is setting the button width to the text width. currently the buttons are all the same width and if the text is larger then it just cuts off.
