View 2 RepliesI have been given the seemingly simply task of resizing a Group container by setting width and height explicitly in response to user interaction. However, changing these values have no effect on the size of the container at all. Changing scaleX and/or scaleY will change the size of the container just fine, but this is not the behavior I am after.I have tried overriding updateDisplayList() to set a specific width and height, but this has not yielded the desired results.

How does flash scale for fullscreen?For example, if I draw a shape and give it a width and height of 100px (square)...does that scale up proportionally when the flash is made full screen? Or does that object stay 100px x 100px?

I want to find a way to get the character index in a Spark based RichEditableText based on mouse x, y position.The mx.controls.TextArea has a protected getCharIndexAtPoint() method but I can't find an equivalent of this in the Spark RichEditableText which is disappointing.

I could just modify the .text property But that doesn't allow me to insert formatted text. So I believe I need to interact with either .textFlow or .textFlow.interactionManager somehow? However, TLF is quite complex and I can't find a simple way to do what I want.

This is pissing me off so much because nobody can tell me why this is happening, or how to fix it. Text is dynamically added to the TextArea as people send messages in the server, hence the valueCommit line.I don't understand this, because I know it's not the fault of my fx:Script. See the problem when you fill up the RichEditableText with characters? Keep typing the word hello until you cross outside of the first visible area of the RichEditableText. things get weird. Try it out. how to prevent the weirdness? (the text starts jumping up and down)

I'm creating a custom component (based on ComboBox) and overriding some base methods. Recently I've found it acts weird when I set it's width in percents, rather than a fixed width. It tends to continuously call the commitProperties method and fail in the end. When I set it's width to fixed value - all works like a charm. What am I missing to implement? Here's some code ..

I am having some problems with clipAndEnableScrolling, it works fine for VGroup when the parent has fixed height, but if the parent doesn't have a fixed height then it doesn't work and the content spills over. e.g:

I'm using a flex columnchart to display data, that changes at runtime. It works perfectly, except the fact, that the y-axis with is automatically resized when the values goes under 1.For example first the values of the charts are between 0 and 10. The y-axis now has labels like 0,1,2,3,4...10. If the values are going under 1 the labels are updated to 0.0, 0.1, 0.2...1.0. And because of the width of the labels, the group with the charts is resized.It looks like the chart is "jumping".So, I need a way, to set a fixed width of the y-axis of the chart.

View 1 RepliesIs there a way to show a long text in a dynamic text field with multiline attribute = on, without word wrapping? E.g., A dynamic text field contains 2 lines, and multiline is set to on. If I try to display a text in the text field, it is wrapping at the word, thereby losing some space in the text field (see code below):

The display is showing only "One Hundredyear" in two lines, and the rest of characters are below the visible text area. The issue here is in the first line there is only "One" displayed, leaving a lot of space. If I can accommodate more characters in the first line, without word wrapping, the second line can accommodate the rest of the characters.
