When using a ColumnChart created in Flex 3, how can I to change the fill color of columns that meet a certain criteria?
Example: I have 8 columns representing agreement percentages between groups of people and want to change the fill color (or otherwise highlight) of all the columns that have over 80% agreement.
I'm using a Flex ColumnChart with a custom dataTipRenderer. I'm able to apply a nice skin with the dataTipRenderer, but am not sure how to move the datatip to be centered. Is there a way to have the chart center the data tips over the column instead of the normal top-right alignment the chart does?

Here is my Problem: I'm currently using a ColumnChart to display 6 label/value pairs. When two labels are the same, the chart stacks them up, one on top of the other. I want to display these duplicates side by side, their value might be the same or it might be distinct. My first thought was to append a unique id to the label, but that's not possible according to the client. So, is there a way to tell the chart to also take a hidden id into consideration? Someone suggested to do some sort of grouping, but I need to display each chart separate, as if they were distinct charts.
the chart's data provider is an array of these objects:

I am a scientist who knows molecular biology well but is a neophyte to Flex/ActionScript. I created a ColumnChart representing a probability histogram. I want to allow users to select a range of values on the X-axis via 2 sliders separate from the chart itself (one for the minimum value, one for the maximum.) By default the column bars are blue. But when the user selects a range, I would like to highlight that range in the chart a different color (eg. orange). How can this be done using ActionScript?

Also, how can we ensure that the column width changes dynamically based on the number of characters / length of string; since many a times the data is too long to be displayed. Can we set the column width to take the length of data into consideration before displaying onto the datagrid ?

I am using a singleton class (popup, which means it doesn't forget the last used variables) which contains a datagrid. I am making various columns visible/invisible, setting the widths and headers in accordance to data received from a database call. Everything works fine except that when I put the breakpoints before and after the point where I change width of columns, I do not see the change in width of datagrid at all! Instead I see some values totally out of sync as widths of datagrid column! However, since it is a singleton class, the next time I call this popup, I see widths which I did set up in last call.
I must be messing up in calling the setWidth() function (which is my custom function which changes the width of datagrid in action script). What should be the point where I should call this function? I tried in creationComplete, show and in the setter of dataprovider.
I have a Flex 4, mx:DataGrid with the following (pertinent) properties set:

I have the minWidth set on all of the DataGridColumns and the width set on one of them. If I simply maximize/minimize the display (in browser or stand-alone flash player) of the application, the columns scale up and down nicely. But if you grab the edge of the application and drag it to make it bigger, only one column grows really big. When you drag the size down again, the one column remains big, but all of the other columns get squished way down.

View 1 RepliesI'm using a flex columnchart to display data, that changes at runtime. It works perfectly, except the fact, that the y-axis with is automatically resized when the values goes under 1.For example first the values of the charts are between 0 and 10. The y-axis now has labels like 0,1,2,3,4...10. If the values are going under 1 the labels are updated to 0.0, 0.1, 0.2...1.0. And because of the width of the labels, the group with the charts is resized.It looks like the chart is "jumping".So, I need a way, to set a fixed width of the y-axis of the chart.
View 2 RepliesI need to create a custom y-axis in a columnChart that resembles a tall / skinny VBox (sorry can't post pictures) and has the axis labels (20, 40, 60, 80, 100) inside the axis.By default, the y-axis is a line and I have found methods of making the line thicker but I need the labels inside the axis.I have tried using the AxisRenderer class but can not find any good examples on the proper use.
View 1 RepliesI can't seem to figure out why, but the label on my ColumnSeries always seems to get truncated regardless of how wide the column is. I've tried setting the labelSizeLimit to an arbitrarily large number, but that doesn't seem to help

Ive been editing a template for a photography website (in flash) but she wanted the font changed through out the site and the colour of this font changed to. Ive been playing around with it and managed to chage the font but only for some of it, but what ever im doing is having a knock on affect with other parts of the site.I have a index page and various other files and folders but dont know if im looking in the correct place.When i look at the libary of contents its not very clear what is what and cant see anything reffrencing the text.

I need to build a series of blocks, (red, orange, yellow, green, purple). When the user clicks a block, that block changes color). (and each block color on is stored as a boolean, isClicked = TRUE/FALSE).
What is the best way to accomplish this in a "block" class? Below is my code.

Columns of columnChart are showing too narrow if i am using the LinearAxis, even tried columnWidthRatio = 0.95 for category axis, this is fine
I just want to increse the width of column on this chart.

I have a neat chart that is rendering overlaid columns with values in excess of 6000 but my vertical axis stays at 0-100, as if my dataProvider was being ignored.
The problem here is with "msAxis" autoAdjust didn't change anything. Do I need to force its values manually?
