Flex :: Link To Project On Localhost For Testing Purposes?
Mar 8, 2011
I've got a Flex 3 website. I've got a bug in my deep linking. For some reason, if another site links to my site, it shows the main content instead of the specific bit that should be show. So, if the link is for [url]...
I'd rather not debug this problem on the production server. Is there a way to make a page on my localhost with a link to my Flex project on my localhost?Link to Project on Localhost for Testing Purposes?
I'm wondering if there's an easy way to disable flash in Internet Explorer for testing purposes:I'm writing a script that tests for flash (based off the information at this link - https:[url]....) and I'm hoping there is an easier way to test this than uninstalling flash.
I have a flex application build with actionscript 3 on flex builder with unit testing on it using flexUnit4. I want to build this project on my cruise control and i don't know how?
I have created an SWF that loads an XML file from [URL], but I get this error when running the movie using Test Movie in the Flash IDE.
Error #2044: Unhandled ioError:. text=Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: http://localhost/flash/Projects/MEL/Quiz/Quiz/bin/xml/quiz.xml at Main/loadConfig()[D:wwwwebrootflashProjectsMELQuizQuizsrcMain.as:126] at Main/configLoadError()[D:wwwwebrootflashProjectsMELQuizQuizsrcMain.as:143]
[Code].....
Trouble is running the SWF in a browser locally does work, it only throws these errors in the Flash IDE.
I have tried a adding wildcard crossdomain.xml file in my root web directory and setting the SWF publish properties for local playback security to Allow network only, but neither of these have solved my problem.
I know Windows 7 handles localhost name resolution differently compared to previous versions of Windows but I have even added 127.0.0.1 localhost to my hosts file to no avail.
I would like to compile my view classes into an SWC from flash, and compile the rest of the application using mxmlc (avoiding recompiling through the IDE). However, because the view classes (source) are in the project class path, mxmlc gives them precedence over the compiled SWC.
Now I'm thinking that maybe the view classes have to be separated into a separate project, but I am hesitant to do so because I don't think these classes truly constitute an independent project, and separating them out would not serve any purpose beyond working around the linking precedence problem. Furthermore, if i were to change my mind about the linkage, i would have to restructure both projects, and any common dependancies between the two projects could be messy to maintain.
How can I get mxmlc to give precedence to the SWC over the Actionscript? Or, if this is not possible, is it more common to create a separate project for the Flash-compiled library, or to isolate the Flash source in the project so that it is not included in the project class path?
when I test my project in flash CS4, both the flash player and the authoring tool detect my keystrokes. Is there a way to make the authoring tool ignore key input while testing a movie, since I really only intend the key presses for the movie?
has anyone else found trace() to be much, much slower in CS4?
I get Strings from a server that look something like this: This is normal text followed by a link: [URL] Links might also look like this: [URL]
This Strings are set as the text value in a spark TextArea. What I'd like to achieve is that A. the text gets highlighted and B. the user can click it and it opens in the systems browser.
Using the StyleableTextField throws a typerror on Flex 4.6. I tried the simplest HTML text like this: StyleableTextField(newsStoryArea.textDisplay).htmlText = "TextArea <b>bold</b><i>italic</i>." Which throws; TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert spark.components.supportClasses::StyleableStageText@fc3d0a1 to spark.components.supportClasses.StyleableTextField.
When I run the resultant flash file on my remote server, it works 100% and test.text gets populated to "successful". However, when I run it on localhost test.text is still blank. If I check my network monitor in Flex, the httpservice was successful, so crossdomain.xml seems to be set right ...what am I doing wrong? I've been spinning my wheels for some time w/out a clue.
I am trying to compile an air app, and I keep getting this error: D:Tomcatwebappspublic-htmladmMain.swf (The device is not ready) It seems that someone who worked before me, had worked from a local server. I searched Flex for all known variations, I couldn't find where it is looking for this. I googled as well, which didn't get me anywhere. Does anyone know how to remove this compiling error?
With parent artifactId of swf, swc, war set to swf, swc, test respectively. On executing mvn on test folder(for that matter clean or anything) I get this following error.
G:Projects est>mvn -e + Error stacktraces are turned on. [INFO] Scanning for projects... Downloading: http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/com/test/swc/1.0-snapshot/swc-1.0-snapshot.pom
[code]....
Looks like its trying to download the project from maven's central repository instead of building it.
I basically need to scale an object up when the user rollsover the button which I have created dynamically already and I need to make sure the object is fully scaled up before I can allow the user to scale it back down again.Ive tried putting 2 tweens (x and yscale) into a function but not sure how to check if the tweens have finished. Im assuming if I check the function is complete it wont take into consideration the tweens may still be running.
I've recently started making a game in FlexBuilder. The game is currently a Flex project. Is there any downside to using Flex as opposed to just Actionscript? A friend of a friend told me that Flex is slower than an Actionscript project. I've been unable to validate this on the internet; is there any truth to that claim?
I have a CodeIgniter project and I made a back-office in Flex. I was wondering how I can implement the Flex project in my CodeIgniter since I'm working with routing I can't route to any directory. So there isn't a way to display the back-office.
I have 2 flex projects which were create in flash builder 4.5.....how can i call one project from second??? the best would execute to the same window.... I'm interesting about both possibility (in browser and air too).
I've got a small client/server test application where I have a Flex app that makes an HTTP request of a server app. The server app is a script running on my local machine, listening on port 8001. The client is a swf that I am running locally, and uses mx.rpc.http.HTTPService to make the page request.
The HTTPService is being set up as per below:
_HttpService = new HTTPService(); _HttpService.url = "http://localhost:8001"; _HttpService.contentType = "text/xml";
When I make a basic page request, my server app is first receiving a "GET /crossdomain.xml HTTP/1.1" request, which is failing since I don't have a crossdomain.xml file in place. The reason I don't have one in place is because this is all happening on my local machine (for now) and I shouldn't need one (I don't think).
I definitely had this code working before without a crossdomain.xml when I was using Flex 3.x. I thought I had it working with Flex 4 as well. Now I'm using Flex 4.5. Is there an issue here, possibly due to security policy changes? With all of this happening on localhost, why is the Flash player requesting a crossdomain.xml file?
I have a flash remoting storefront I developed that I want to start protecting the source code to. The main FLA is quite extensive with a lot of layers, movie clips, and such. Most of the ActionScript is seperated out into seperate .AS files though, some classes, others just function files. Is there a way to secure my source code, encrypt, obfuscate, or other the .AS files? I need developers to still access the .FLA for design purposes. or is there a simple way to make these .AS files secure?
I was thinking of moving all my actionscript to the fla and all my movies into seperate swfs to be loaded, then securing the one .fla, but users could still duplicate the entire project as many times as they wanted...
I am using a TextField in Flash CS2, because I need to know the width of the actual text for positioning purposes. However from some odd reason it doesn't always work when the browser is Google Chrome.
We are trying to automate our flex application. After adding automation libraries to our project we get the following exception:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at mx.automation::AutomationManager$/addDelegates() at mx.automation::AutomationManager$/addDelegates() at mx.automation::AutomationManager$/addDelegates()
[code].....
We are using Flex 3.4 and maven2 to build the application.
I posted the same question but I think it was not so clear. Now I am rephrasing my question with real problem.I have a flex application. It is basically a web application. On it I have a player that play avi files and some buttons and tabs along side. The application also have recording button that records that direct stream from an IP cam and store that stream on the media (USB). How can I automate function testing of such application. Like I have confusion that when I press the recording button but can I be sure that recording starts? I have tried RIATest and flexUnit 4.
I have one Eclipse Workspace containing two projects. - The first is my actual library. - The second is example code for using the library. When I push this code to GitHub, I don't want two separate projects, I want the example code to go into an "example" folder of the second library. How and where would I do this? From Eclipse, GIT, or GitHub?Or is there a better way of including sample code in GitHub projects? (the example code doesn't actually need any version control)
Im using TextFields to draw text information in my project, but the problem is I need to be able to click in the area where the field exists without transferring focus. And I also don't want the 'I' shaped cursor to appear when mousing over. Essentially I want to draw a dynamic field a text for display purposes only.
I'm making a program in flash builder 4.5 using WebOrb 4 (which is fantastic, I might add). When I go to deploy, however, it gives me this error:
>There was an error during model deployment for xxxxProgram. > >The server returned the following message: > >Unable to contact the RDS Server "Data Services on Tomcat (localhost)." > >Connection refused: connect > >Do you want to continue launching your Flex application?
I've poked around online for a solution, but for the most part I either don't understand them (forum grammar can be somewhat obtuse) or the answer in the post doesn't apply.
After adding a floating cloud layer on top of the map all the elements below the cloud layer are inaccessible as the cloud layer is the only object getting mouse events. Is there a way to to tell flash to ignore the cloud layer for purposes of interaction?
I finished my first as3 project that wasn't Hello World and I wanted to send it to a friend. So I put together an .HTML document to load the .swf file but when I open it as a page the game is larger than the displayed area even though my project is 640X480 and the HTML is set to display that (the .swf displays correctly when opened with the stand alone viewer). I also went into the bin/index.html file in my project and edited the height and width from "100%" to "640" and "480" respectively. I have tried adjusting and changing every parameter and value that I could find to try and fix this issue.
We have a flex based UI whose functionality (eg: login, logout) needs to be tested periodically in IE 7. Manual testing takes a lot of time and hence we want to automate it EDIT: We dont have the source code of this app uder test so cannot use something like FlexUnit. Is there a way to automate this testing?
I have heard of FleXmonkey, but have read negative reviews of it and hence wary of trying it.
I am going to make an Arabic application using Flex builder 4.5. I have two questions that need to be answered What is the difference between ActionScript Mobile Project and Flex Mobile Project. (AS Mobile Project supports iOS and Android but I doubt about it!!) Is Arabic support available in Flex Mobile Projects or AS Mobile Projects? I know TLF supports Desktop and web apps but does it support mobile platforms?
I have a datagrid with different types of columns, like I have checkboxes, combo boxes and text Inputs as the column types. Now I want one of the column type to a link, with the label "view". All the rows in that column are link with the same label "View" and on clicking it, I want a Pop up window to be opened?
I didn't know how to bring a link in the datagrid. So used the Text control to display the "View" label. Now If I click this item, "View" in the datagrid, I want the Pop up function, i.e.,defectCommentsPopUp() to be called.
