Flex :: LocalConnection AsyncError : Dispatched When An Exception Is Thrown Asynchronously?

I'm working on implementing communication between an Adobe AIR app and a browser Flash object, and the LocalConnection documentation mentions an asyncError as a potential event:
asyncError: Dispatched when an exception is thrown asynchronously — that is, from native asynchronous code.
However, that's the only documentation I can find on it. Does anyone know what this error actually means? I've searched around but couldn't find any reference -- most sample code I found does an addEventListener() for the asyncError but doesn't give any clue as to what it means or when it could occur (i.e. if it could occur when sending or when recieving).The Adobe documentation page also lists potential events for each method, but asyncError isn't listed under any specific method, only for the general class.
I am new in Flex, and I am trying to retrieve info from an external url's information. So right now I am using a call a url from another server when the user clicks on the link( this brings up the IFrame with the url embeded). If successful (based on arguments sent with the url) then a correct page will load up. But, if unsuccessful, ( i will get a exception error on the webpage embeded on the link i have given) then i need to display a pop up that says error and return back to the previous page. Is there a way to check if i am getting an exception error from the url site i am retrieving?
Is this possible to load the urls info first and if success then load, and if not bring pop up? ** additional note, I am trying to catch a servlet exception http 500. Below is a peice of the code, so when this component is called, by a click button, it puts this IFrame in the view contents with the url, but i want to know if the http status code is recieving 500, or 400 etc. so i can stop this call and load up instead a error popup.
I'm assisting my professor with a class helping students build an online portfolio. Yesterday, one of the students sent me a bunch of .fla files to review and I made some changes, inserted a bunch of comments in the code and told her to change the rest of her files into the same format. (Adding keyframes, frame labels and button codes, etc.)
Then she emailed me to tell me that she keeps getting this error message every times she makes a mistake and tries to "undo" something.
"Every time I open up the drawing page and another one of my subpages like logo design for example, I work on what you said to do, but if i make a mistake and undo it, I get this error message and all my images disappear completely from the time line. I have attached a screenshot of the error message, maybe you know whats going on but I'll keep working on it and try to not have to undo something because at the moment that seems to be the problem. I have to close flash and reopen everything to make it go away."
I have a flex application that shows information gathered from different external services by using rest api. Some of them are resource intensive, take longer to response.
Recently I configured my BlazeDS to use Array instead of ArrayCollection for performance reasons. Additionally I adjusted my templates to generate Array properties.Everything wen't fine. All except one function that causes TypeError: Error #1034. These are being thrown before the result callback is called. It claims to have problems casting an ArrayCollection to Array. I removed the generated types to make Flex use Objects instead, but these did not contain any ArrayCollections. My question now is: How can I get the stack-traces of errors thrown in event-handlers? I allready added handlers for unhandledExceptions in all of my modules and they are called if errors occur in code triggered from user-interaction, but they don't seem to be able to catch stuff thrown by event-handlers.How can I track these Errors?

I have a flex application that repeatedly polls a remote XML file to detect changes, but I've found that once the file hits a certain size, the poll blocks the UI and makes the page unresponsive for a short time.
Is there any way to ensure that the call made to the server or the event from the flash.utils.Timer class runs asynchronously to the main UI thread?
I am adding data inside a VGroup dynamically using Action Script. Each data is an instance of a custom component. So when the number of item is more, It take time to load, which look bad.
Is there any way, we can load data to it, asynchronously or is there any way, so that more data can be added inside a scroller only when the scroll bar reaches to the end ( as it happens in Android or IPhone).?
The first one (FLEX application) sends a message on a dedicated LocalConnection to a second one (Flash application). The Flash then answers by sending a message on another dedicated LocalConnection. This message is not directly received by the FLEX and the delay is at least 30s, up to 1 or 2 minutes! It seems the issue only occurs with Flash Player >= 10 and it never occurs with Chrome.
I didn't find anything on the web concerning a similar issue nor something in Flash Player release notes. Did someone already have this kind of problem?
By the way, is there any tool that can be used to sniffer LocalConnection communications?

swf are located in different frames swf are embed with swfobject I tried to delay the Flash sending, I tried to create another LocalConnection dedicated to this call but I always had same result: for all calls, the FLEX method is called after the same delay. I also put a timer in FLEX to periodically log to see if there is no background process delaying the method processing but everything seems fine
I have a skin that's base clas is GraphicRectangularBorderSkin (from degrafa). I'm using it as a panel skin. I'm using Degrafa 3.2, Flex 3.2. It throws a #1502 error (thrown when a script runs too long) every time. If I remove the line changing the em variable, the error goes away.The class is basically (although I paraphrased for the sake of clarity):[code]
I was trying the flickr code provided in the learnwebsite, and I am getting this exception:

As I'm rolling out my Flex app to Beta I realized that I need to know about any exception that happens in Flex Side. But as it runs on users machines I don't get to see them.
Is there a way to make Flex send email every time an exception happens?
Is there a way for different flex swf's to send large blocks of data between each other without using localconnection which is size limited or using sharedobjects. This needs to happen on the client without server communication.
Like java, you can specify that method you are calling throws certain exception. For e.g.- public void getListOfAssessments() throws SQLException; So, is there any way we can achieve this in ActionScript (Flex)?
I'm testing some event dispatch code in a Flex app, using FlexUnit's addAsync method for testing that events are dispatched. Great so far, I can ensure that at least one event was fired. However, I want to be a bit more detailed; I want to ensure that exactly the set of events I'm expecting are dispatched. Is there a useful test pattern (or, even, different test framework -- I'm flexible!) to accomplish this?I tried this code, but it doesn't seem to get invoked the second time:[code]

I have a text area on which I would like to listen to change events when I change the text formatting using setFormatOfRange(). So far all other events I have tried, such as Event.CHANGE or TextOperationEvent.CHANGE are only dispatched when the actual text is changed.
I'm using a localconnection to allow communication between an actionscript 2 swf and an actionscript 3 swf.Localconnection objects share a global namespace across a user's pc.So, this means, a user can fire up my flash app in one browser, and submit commands, back and forth, which is what i want. But the user can also fire up another browser, and all commands sent to my application will be handled by the first application if its still loaded in the first browser.When I make the LocalConnection, I specify an id, but the id must be known to the actionscript 2 swfs, and therein I find a problem. I don't know how to let the actionscript 2 swfs know what the unique id is.
I am trying to determine what events I need to wait for in a test in order to ensure that my custom component has updated all of its properties. I was using VALUE_COMMIT, but for some reason that isn't working out for me. I want some easy mechanism for tracing every event dispatched from a component. Is this possible?
I want to know when the data has been added to a chart so I can use localToData() to draw on the chart. If I do this immediately after setting the dataProvider the chart has not yet updated, so the the call to localToData will not return the correct values. Is there an event I can subscribe to so I know the chart has drawn the data in the dataProvider?
I'm using an accordion container that has it's creation policy set to auto. One of the accordion's children is a spark border container that has a data grid within it. Currently, I'm using the data grid's creationComplete property to call a function; similarly, I'm using the dragComplete property to call another function.
How can I add listeners for events (creationComplete & dragComplete) via actionscript? The obvious problem is that the accordion does not create all its children on creation (nor do I want it to), so I can't simply use something like: datagrid.addEventListener(...)
I tried to send some services to fetch data in the creationComplete handler. Then I need to process the server raw data before displaying some sub components. Where should I put these kind of code?
I'm having the following problem: I've implemented a custom headRenderer for my DataGridColumn. The idea is to have a dropdown menu when clicked on the column header. The problem is I don't know how to add a listener or pass a variable to the renderer since the renderer class is instantiated by the ClassFactory.

Here is an issue i'm struggling to solve for quit some time now.I have a python + GAE backend with a flex client that communicates via JSON. I'm using flex's HttpService bound to a Responder with result and fault callbacks. When python raises an exception, I don't seem to get it in flex. I did some research and found out that the problem probably lies in the fact that the flash runtime cannot handle http responses with status code other than 200.
I have two flash movies communicating with each other using localConnection, passing an object from swfA to swfB. This seems to work fine, but will occasional fail. The only information we have is that the status event is fired with a level of error, there is no other information. Once a connection has failed it will continue to do so.
I don't know why it's happening but it is not a security problem (both movies are running on the same domain) and all communication is wrapped in a try..catch.
alternative method for communicating between movies? I've tried using ExternalInterface but it's too slow for the number of updates that are sent.
I am currently working with a drawing tool for a mapping API, and every time I double-click the mouse a map service will perform a measurement and display the length of the line that I am drawing.
I want to mimic this double-click manually by dispatching a MouseEvent.DOUBLE_CLICK, but the map service is not listening to this default Flex event. I suspect that the API has created a custom MapMouseEvent or something like it that is being dispatched when a user double-clicks the mouse.
Is there a way to determine which event is being dispatched when I double-click the mouse?
