Flex :: Pop Content From Pushed Stack Object Into Textarea
Mar 2, 2011
I'm looking to take an object that contains String and Integer context and that has pushed upon a Stack and pop those specific contents into a display that the user can see. The display consists of two textareas and a label.I can't figure out how to access the individual parts of the Object to display them though..[code]
I have an mx:TextArea and I want its height to be the same as its content height. There is nothing fancy - just a text area and text that is not editable. I need a simple and reliable way to make the control fit and show all the text without vertical scroll - something like auto resizing. Also my control's text will be set only once and will not change as it will not be editable.
There is one more post here on the same topic but it is not relevant to me because the setup there is a lot more complicated as it includes styling and binding.
What I want to do is this: In my main movie I have 2 variables: movietoplay and tag I want an swf to be loaded into a movieclip(content) when myButton is pushed. This swf contains a variable, called tag1(var tag1 = "guitar"). Then if its loaded, tag and tag1 should be compared, and if they're the same, nothing should happen. But if they are not, another movie must be loaded elsewhere. Basically, I've collected links that belong with the different pages that load into 'content' and those groups should be loaded into the 'links' movieclip. But sometimes, the links for 2 different pages are the same. So I want to check if the links of the page that will come are the same links of the previous page and if they are the same, no new links need to be loaded. But if they're not the same, the new set of links should be loaded. (A set of links always ends with"_link.swf")
I successfully loaded 8 objects and pushed them into an array. The problem is that if I want to have the same object in 2 places, it deletes the old one to make a new. Ex:
I am looping through an 9x9 grid btw and goto a MySQL database to find what tile needs to be placed where.
ActionScript Code: function onResult(responds:Object):void { var dbArray:Array = responds.serverInfo.initialData;
[Code].....
It will load fine but once I hit a tile that was already used, it moves it to the new square.
I am creating a card game everything is fine but I am not able to create a stack of cards as follows: If I have 4 cards that are represented in an array such as 4,5,6,7 of Spades then I want the card with the least priority to be placed on top and the highest priority card placed behind the first one.
new to actionscript and im currently building a webpage. inside the page im going to run a simple flash application but im struggling some with a certain part of the code. basically i want a unlimited deck of cards. and i want to be able to drag the cards all over the screen. i have the dragging code down, but i can figure out how to make an unlimited amount of movieclip objects in a stack. this is what i have now
reset_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, resetbuttonClicked); function resetbuttonClicked(event:MouseEvent):void {
I have a TextArea component with a lot of content (images+text) - the content is coming from a xml file.. i need to print the textarea content and when i do - it is printing just the visible content area with scrollbar-is there anyway i can print the entire TextArea content using a print button on my flash file- im using AS2.
I am encountering a problem with addChild and removeChild.I would like to add a child when one button is pushed and remove the same child when another button is pushed.The code I am working with doesn't work. (see attached code)and this is the error message I get back.1120: Access of undefined property gallery.
I'm binding two AutoCompleteModified objects to one another; meaning you type in one and it selects the correct object in the other. It works fine when I define it in MXML: However, a user can add a new row to a Grid and then I set up the binding and objects via actionscript and it gives an 'undefined' error: ChangeWatcher line 427/wrapHandler.
var innerHBox:HBox = new HBox(); var dtc_acm:AutoCompleteModified = new AutoCompleteModified(); dtc_acm.dataProvider = data2; dtc_acm.labelField = 'id'; var cp_acm:AutoCompleteModified = new AutoCompleteModified(); [Code] .....
If I only keep it 1-way binding then it works fine. But both throw this error. Is there something about not only doing it 2-way in actionscript, but adding components that aren't on the stage yet?
I am trying to use a combobox in flex with an array to change to a canvas in a view stack. Can I do this with some custom action script? The UI I am designing could really benefit form this.
On occasion, I have wanted to push a closure onto ActionScript's event stack so that it will be executed after the current event handler. Right now I use setTimeout(closure, 0). Is there a more direct way of doing this?
I'm trying to develop a card game with Flex, and I was wondering if there's a way to create an horizontal list (the cards that I have in my hand) having the elements overlapped, like you can see in this example made with openflux: [URL]. The thing that's missing here is the possibility to swap the cards with drag and drop. What I could do to get a similar effect with an horizontal list based component?
I am in the planning phase of a new multi-user client/server app using Flash via Flex and AIR. I am trying to decide which web platform/stack is the best suited for this? I have used RoR in the past, but as i understand, RoR is single-threaded, and is therefore not the ideal choice for handling potentially thousands of simultaneous requests. I have done some reading about Scala and Lift and that is an intriguing option, but i was wondering if there are other languages/frameworks out there that would work well for my project?
In Flex 4.5 for mobile is it possible to check if there is > 1 view on a navigation stack and display a back button accordingly? If so how can I do this?My application is based ons:ViewNavigatorApplicationI'm adding a back button like this
I would like a text area that holds multiple strings to send its values to an array and the array to convert the string to an object. The objects then populate a datagrid. I can't really figure out where to go from here:
Unfortunately, when I start placing text in this text area. Either through code or user input, the text will be placed on a new line after about 80-100 pixels. Yet I want it to start a new line after 320 pixels (it's length).
If you have two text areas with different styles (fontFamily, weight, color etc) and you copy text from one to the other it also copies the style from the originating text area. Is there any slick way to prevent that?
Here is a sample of code that will illustrate the problem. Type some text in the top box and some text in the bottom, then copy some characters from the top box to the bottom. I'm not using htmltext.[code]...
I have an animation I put together for a kids book where an animation takes place when a button is pushed. "if - else" statement where if the button is not pushed in "X" seconds, a targeted movie clip goes to its frame 2, otherwise it stays on frame 1. The code below is my weak attempt but should help describe what I am looking for:
Code: on(enterFrame){ if(buttonMC is not pushed in 5 seconds){ animationMC.gotoAndStop(2)
I'm trying to create a flash drum machine. I have a template created in illustrator with 16 "pads" and I have 16 exported sounds. At this point all I want is when a apecific keyboard key is pressed it plays a sound.
For example button "Q" relates to "pad 5" which plays "sample5.mp3".
I want to display text in textarea in two columns. [code]...
Depending on text width in Column1 text in Column2 will be shifted. So all rows in Column2 are going to be aligned. How can I do this without html <table>?
I'm trying to select the id of a textArea when it's focused in
[Code]...
Problem is TextArea is made up of RichEditableText so target doesn't actually refer to TextArea. I've tried event.target.parent.id but still not getting there. Anyone knows how to get to the bottom of this?
