The issue I am having is I need to make the movieclip scroll vertically. If I use the scrollpane component, the draggable items get masked and disapear when dragging them outside of the scrollpane component.
I tried using a custom scrollbar, though the draggable items that are dropped, are then scrolled vertically with the main movieclip...
Flex :: Vertical Gap Between List Items Not Working?
Mar 18, 2010I have a list item with buttons in it like so:

No matter what I do, these buttons have a vertical gap inbetween them. I have tried everything from setting the "vertical-gap" property to negative and positive numbers as well as changing the padding-bottom and padding-top on them. I want the buttons to be right up against eachother vertically. I have also tried "button-height" and padding on the List component...still nothing. How do I control this?

Now when I click on the title it show on the text area (logText) the description. Now what I want is to add a link behind the description. I have tried with .link but it shows the whole link tag and not clickable link to the page...

ActionScript 3.0 :: Scrollable List Menu For Mobile - Tap Against Swipe
Jan 9, 2012I have built simple scrollable list menu for my mobile app - this is just a simple table with 1 column and there is a small jpg and description text in every row. This is built using the ScrollPane component (with scrollDrag enabled) - and within scrollPane every table row is simply a button object. This all scrolls and works just fine.
When you scroll the list - and when you let go your finger to scroll further it thinks that you've clicked and it opens the link. I am using onClick event at the moment (but also tried TapHandler) and they all do the same thing, they work but you can accidentally open unwanted menu item. How to separate swipe from just tap event in the code, so user doesn't accidentally opens the link?

Sep 29, 2008In Flash 9, with AS 3, I modified the width of an isolated list component using list_instance.setSize(width=x, height=y). When the list is included in an app with other components and movie clips, the setSize() method applies itself to the size of the app window and scales everything within. Using skins, I can edit the list background color. Though I can modify the width of the accompanying vertical scrollbar subcomponent in the editing window, the modification does not apply to the stage or when the app is run with Control/Test Movie. modifying the width of the vertical scroll bar in a list component that is included with other components and movie clips in an app, either dynamically with AS 3 or by editing skins?

Sep 27, 2011My problem is i am trying to make a panel. My button in in Main.mxml whereas the panel functions are defined in panel_Create.mxml. the code works fine. In panel_Create their are functions to create panels at runtime. The problem i am facing is when i run the program it wont show the panels but it does increase the value of n and after 8 clicks it gives alert message. The code works fine when i put all the code in Main.mxml

Jul 31, 2009I'm trying to show image files (jpg, png, gif) that can be larger than the available display area. I've embedded an Image inside a cCanvas (to get scrolling), but the large images are not completely displayed.
Very large images (e.g. 2480 x 3507) have the top or the top and bottom of the image clipped withing the scrolling Image.
What is the largest graphic one can display using the mx.controls.Image ?

Aug 6, 2009I have the code to copy parts of a huge loaded BitmapData to a target BitmapData that is just the size that I can display. I think I have set the scroll bars of an enclosing Canvas to show the size of the larger image and allow the user to scroll. Now I need to put the selected pixels on the screen. When I try to add a Bitmap component as a child of the Canvas, it get an error because Bitmap is not a UIComponent. What's the best way to put the target BitmapData into an Image component?

The 'recommendations' dataProvider is an ArrayCollection of String, which are generally sentences about as long as this one. By setting the variableRowHeight and wordWrap properties as shown, if a sentence is too long to fit on a single line, everything works fine- the row expands and the messages show on two lines, or occasionally three.
The space allocated for this panel within the entire canvas means if the total text size of 'recommendations' exceeds six lines, I need for the entire list scroll. This is also working just fine. The trouble is when using the mouse wheel to do the scrolling- Flex scrolls both the entire list and the single item where the mouse is hovering. Often this results in only the second half of a sentence being visible. Non-programmer friends I have asked to look at this noticed this, and tell me it as a problem. If a user does not notice the dual scrolling, and sees only a fragment of a sentence, it will be perceived as an error in the application.

Jun 28, 2010I'm trying to animate a list as I delete the top row. All the examples I can find use itemsChangeEffect to bind to the effect, but this property exists only in MX lists, not spark lists.
Any idea how I can get the same effect done in Spark Lists?
I'm trying to remove the top most item in the list with a slight fade out effect before the rest of the items move up to replace the gap.
