I need to create an accordion interface that can have multiple open panels. I have seen so many examples out there that allow one at a time, but none that allow the user to have a few panels expanded at one time.

However, I'd like to open the second part of the accordion only by half, so they can still see the data in de datagrid.

I have an accordion component on my stage and I really do not even know where to start to do .I found this code on the Adobe help pages and it causes the movement of the accordion to bounce... which is great... but my problem is populating the accordion with the data.

My accordion is called "top_acc".I have three(3) labels... (FIRST,SECOND, and THIRD) Within there i would like arrays to be displayed for the select label.My arrays are defined and when i trace them i get exactly what i am looking for... the format of the code to add an array to my accordion...then upon selecting the item in the array displayed i would to be able to display that same array value in a text box called "my_selection" ....also the amount of items in the array are not static and change day to day..

If I have the code listed below, it opens the second link as soon as you open the links page, If I have the"function onLinkClick (evt)", above btn6_btn I end up with the duplicate error message. Is there a way to have multiple link buttons on a page. I have played with this for hours.

I have a swf file with 5 buttons each button goes to a different url, so lets say i have 5 buttons, button 1 goes to preloader1 button 2 goes to preloader2 and so on.the problem is if i click on button 1 and open preloader1, then click on button 2 it opens preloader2 in the same window as preloader1, how would i do it so it opens a different window,here is the as3 code

I'm currently working on a project where I need to access multiple devices with differing IP addresses and Ports. I've defined "buttons" that will go to specific devices depending on the user input (sorry, hard to explain but I'm sure you'll get it). Everything works like a charm but I'd really like to see if there is a better way to code the following (maybe with an array) but I can't get it to work.
I will have up to 20 different devices so I'd like to streamline the code instead of having a bunch of "if" statements. As you can see, it's all the same just incrementing the TKsocket name.

How to open multiple pop up browser windows from ActionScript?
View 2 Repliesi found i can get vertical dynamic text block by setting to vertical and then to dynamic. But, then it ends up being horizontal, and if inside a clip, only the letters over another item in clip show. Like veritcal text on a vertical bar gives only the 1 or 2 letters that fit across bar, rest truncated. i've tried embedding text to get this far, but still doesn't work 'all the way' i see online they talk about all scripting for dynamic, vertical text; is that necessary, or am i missing something??
View 1 RepliesI'm new to Flash and AS3, but with the help of many examples I have managed to created a scripted movie using some time lapse photography. I load the images from an XML file and use an event listener to add each image as a child of a movie clip. As the number of children grew, it caused the frame rate to slow, so I figured out that I could remove them after they were viewed and just keep looping through the array.
This works great on the local machine and when served up from the web server behind the firewall. However, if I try to access the file from outside the firewall, it loads the first image or two very slowly (if at all) then hangs. I've performed a net stat from the server and noticed that it is opening an inordinate number of connections to the remote client on various client ports (from 6 to 60+).

Once the commercials ends, I'd like for the video to start automatically. I will be letting the user move things around the main drawing space and want to prevent them from moving things into the panel of buttons. Also, I want to be able to export an image file showing the contents of the main drawing panel. Is there a nice way to create these panels using ActionScript? I saw that there was a panel object in Flex and am unsure how to do that with AS 3.0.

I want to have the user click a grid item in the first panel and then load the data in a panel in the second panel. I can grab the value of the index for the clicked item in the itemClicked handler, but how do I access the detailsPanel to set the values based on the row info from the Grid?
SO, it's been a while since I've done actionscript 3 again, been mostly busy with iOS programming..Anyway, what I'm trying to create is a sliding panels.So far they work but I'm having some troubles, And everything I try does not do what I want hehe.
The panels work, I generate 5 of them in a for loop, they slide open and close when clicked using greensock.But, They all have a label, which needs to slide with it instead of staying on the same position.Plus, I have a if/else to check if a panel is open, but I want to check this individually instead of overall.

My problem is i am trying to make a panel. My button in in Main.mxml whereas the panel functions are defined in panel_Create.mxml. the code works fine. In panel_Create their are functions to create panels at runtime. The problem i am facing is when i run the program it wont show the panels but it does increase the value of n and after 8 clicks it gives alert message. The code works fine when i put all the code in Main.mxml
