Flash - Dynamic Sliding Panels?

SO, it's been a while since I've done actionscript 3 again, been mostly busy with iOS programming..Anyway, what I'm trying to create is a sliding panels.So far they work but I'm having some troubles, And everything I try does not do what I want hehe.
The panels work, I generate 5 of them in a for loop, they slide open and close when clicked using greensock.But, They all have a label, which needs to slide with it instead of staying on the same position.Plus, I have a if/else to check if a panel is open, but I want to check this individually instead of overall.

I am working with a downloaded component that moves separate panels horizontally with an ease. there are 4 panels and they are controlled by 4 buttons to make them move.The code for the panels is:
onClipEvent (load) {
targetx = 46.0;

he code for each button is:
on (release) {
menu.targetx = 46.0;
}
The value changes with each button to move the panels.My question is the buttons are actually buttons and I want to make them into movie clips but when I do that and apply the same code it does not work. Can this only be done with "buttons"? I am trying to create a portfolio section that slides from panel to panel by thumbnails and left and right arrows.

I have a divided box that has 3 panels in it... when a certain tab in tab navigator is clicked, then the sidebar with the three panels changed. One tab might show one Panel, another tab might show two of the panels and so on.
I can turn panels invisible and hide the dividers and ever almost positions the panels right, but the dividers still exists so it's not as dynamic as I would like.
Is their an easier way to add and remove panels from the Divided box that won't take as much manual configuration and hacking to make look right?
The problem is once I hide a panel the divider still exists.

I am building a long timeline (50-100 entries) dynamically from XML. An entry can have either text or image or both. They all have the same distance from each other but they have different widths. there will be a slider at the bottom to quickly bring the user from one end of the timeline to the other end.
It's an interface that's similar to the aiga design archives. [URL]
The main difficulty I see is to dynamically load content that is currently visible first and content that is 'offscreen' later (or even unloading it if it enhances performance, does it?) I could try to figure out the math... but I know from experience that I get major headaches from such undertakings...
The second difficult task will be to determine the width of all entries before displaying them.. Is there a way in as3 to find out how wide an image is before completely loading it? Hmm that sounds a little unrealistic, but I thought I'd ask anyway
I am looking for an as3 class or library that could assist me in building this, mainly detecting if an entry is visible or not, or even better which entries are visible or not. Has anyone seen any as3 libraries related to such an interface?

I'm making a slide menu that loads a xml file and creates buttons dynamically. Another functionality it has a sliding menu also, and I can't stop it. Heres goes the zip file, which contains .fla and .xml files. What I want to do is when I put the mouse at the top of the mask, the menu stops on the first option, and when I put the mouse at the bottom, the menu stops on the last option. Is it possible? [URL]

I'm not a Flash developer, but I'm working on a Flash advertising issue where a Flash ad (movie/SWF file) is sometimes having portions of its animation panels or timeline (specifically some text copy) getting stuck and then they stack/layer/overlap on top of each other at the end of the final frame of animation.We were able to reproduce this only sporadically in IE7 but someone else reported the issue using IE8.A screenshot of the portions that are overlapping is pasted further below.The "Dr. Ted Lawrence" and "A pioneer in tumor radiation therapy." text copy portions are sometimes getting stuck and are sometimes overlapping onto the final frame of the animation.

Is there a setting that can be adjusted to keep the panels (ie Output Window, Actions, etc.) in Flash CS3 from 'sticking' to each other and forming panel groups? Most of the time I just want to slightly move a panel and it automatically snaps to another one, re-adjusting its dimensions and visibility.

I am a vision impaired developer who needs to enlarge the text in the user interface of CS4 Flash Professional. Is there a way to increase the font size for the text in the user interface of the application, menus and panels for example? im trying to create a cafe flash website in Flash CS5. My problem is that I know how to create regular buttons that point to different frames but i want to make the site nice. The only button that will be a drop down button is the Menu button that will give me soup, salad.My problem is that this type of vertical drop down menu will drop over other buttons. I want the buttons bellow the menu button to drop or shift down as well when the mouse cursor is over or clicking the menu buttonI have tried to search the internet to create a vertical sliding drop down menu but had no success.

I want to create a set of panels. One holds the buttons and the other holds the main drawing panel. An ASCII representation would look like this:

I will be letting the user move things around the main drawing space and want to prevent them from moving things into the panel of buttons. Also, I want to be able to export an image file showing the contents of the main drawing panel. Is there a nice way to create these panels using ActionScript? I saw that there was a panel object in Flex and am unsure how to do that with AS 3.0.

I'm currently struggling to do the effect where the menus slide up behind the images when an arrow is clicked (See the Menu section for the best example) and was wondering if this is actually possible in jQuery. I want to have the user click a grid item in the first panel and then load the data in a panel in the second panel. I can grab the value of the index for the clicked item in the itemClicked handler, but how do I access the detailsPanel to set the values based on the row info from the Grid?

My problem is i am trying to make a panel. My button in in Main.mxml whereas the panel functions are defined in panel_Create.mxml. the code works fine. In panel_Create their are functions to create panels at runtime. The problem i am facing is when i run the program it wont show the panels but it does increase the value of n and after 8 clicks it gives alert message. The code works fine when i put all the code in Main.mxml

[URL]there are 5 links on the right side homepage, about us, our coffee, services, contacts my question is about the sliding effect when any of these 5 links are clicked. when any of these links are clicked whatever page content is currently visible, that content slides away to the right and then the content of the link that has been clicked slides from the left and this page content appears, how is this created.
i am guessing that the rectangular area where the content for all the 5 pages appears can be a containing movie clip, and when any of the 5 links are clicked on each of those links in the action script code for on release code will be written to display the appropriate page however how can i get that sliding effect of pushing the existing content away to the right and display the links content which would slide from the left, how to go about doing this i am guessing it would be an action script code.

I have two SWFs, one is a 960x30px, the other is a 960x300px. I can get it to load the 960x300 from the 960x30, but I can't get it to load by sliding down underneath it, keeping it 960x300. I have written external JavaScript to move the content underneath down. It needs to be in Actionscripting 2.0 There is one correct example on my web site for Penn State with the girl. [URL]..

I have been following this tutorial [URL] to design a sliding website. I have designed each section (about, portfolio, contact etc) of the website as a movie clip. All the movie clips were then placed next to eachother in a row. Everytime you click a button the site is supposed to scroll to the next movie clip. This has been working fine until I changed the size of the content. The current content (each content movie clip) is now 1000x600. The problem now is that when you click a button, it doesn't scroll far enough.
The .fla was unfortunately too large to attach.

I am using a for loop which creates 4 panels inside a tabnavigator. the problem is the panels all display in a vertical row. I am wanting to have two panels in row one then another 2 panels under that in row two. Not 4 in a vertical line.
