I am a vision impaired developer who needs to enlarge the text in the user interface of CS4 Flash Professional. Is there a way to increase the font size for the text in the user interface of the application, menus and panels for example? I have not been able to find any setting in the preferences for doing this.

I have to strain my eyes, because all of the toolbars and text related to them are too small, for constant work.Is this possible? View 1 RepliesI need to implement a functionality where a user adds some text into a text field. Next if a user clicks on a button, then the font size increase/decrease so as to accomodate entire text in the available area. That means if a user has added just hello world in 12 px font and text field size is say 400*200 and user clicks on the button, the font size increases such that the text is occupied in the complete text field. Similarly if lot of content is added at a font size of 16 or so then clicking on the button reduces the font size to make it fit into the available text field area.

I'm finding the default font size to be too small to work effectively and find the commands I need. I've tried Edit->Preferences which is where one typically finds this type of interface option; however, I do not see any way to do this. I've tried adjusting my screen resolution and screen font size and while this affects every other application on my screen, it does not affect Flash Professional.

EDIT: What do I need to write in AS3 to make a dynamic text field increase in increments of 1 if the user hovers at the upper half of the screen, and decrease in increments of 1 if the user hovers at the lower half of the screen?Purpose, it isn't a game.
What I have right now isn't actually doing any of those things, I've just been mucking about trying to get all the masks working and they finally are.
I've included the code to offer as much information as possible about my specific project. There is also a few more lines that changes the colour of the dial when the user rolls over the specific coloured bars. I can post that as well if it helps.
To clarify the scene, the arrow part of the dial tracks the user's mouse. Always pointing towards it. The bars, when rolled over changes the colour of said dial. The "73M" is static, as well is "POINTS" but the 380 value is dynamic. It is that string I need to affect.
If anything is unclear please feel free to ask, I've been at this all night so there is a chance I'm so into it that I can't see straight.

If the persons name is only 3 letters I want the font size to be 120 but based on the amount of characters, I would like to shrink the font size in order to fit the whole name inside the text field. I was playing with autosize, but couldn't get it to work.

View 7 Repliesok so i have drawn some letters up, this way i can have everything looking just the way i like. i was going to put it in as an image but then it hit me, what if i wanted the user to be able to select the text? so i wanted to ask if there was a way you could make it act like a textfield. i was thinking it finds the character value and gives a value of 1-26. 1 being a and 26 being z. then it adds the movieclip to stage, changes to the frame relying on that value i just mentioned and positions itself accordingly.but what i haven't thought of yet is how you'd make it selectable.
View 4 RepliesI have a small question about the size of images imported to flash.Recently I imported a series of png images to flash CS5 to be used in an animation, 92 images to be exact. Each image was 34Kb size. Before I imported the images, the FLA was 6kb, and after I imported them the FLA was 160 MB large. Now 33Kb * 92 isn't 160 MB, so why does this happen? Is there any way to decrease the image quality or something when importing, or do I have to do that manually when creating the images?
(I used photoshop, and the images have a transparent background if that makes a difference).
So I am using the loadVars function to load external text into my flash movie. My problem is, the text only shows up if it is set on size 9 or smaller....I need it to be bigger

Does anyone know of a quick solution on how to scale up (enlarge) the visual area of the checkbox component in flash CS3?

I am linking to an external text file, (.txt), and I am working in Flash CS3, Actionscript 3.0, and attempting to use dynamic HTML coding. The scroll bars work, but all the text after <font size=.... doesn't show up.

Try this experiment. Select Text, Static Text, Times New Roman [or any font], set size to 280. Remember how it looks. Now set to Dynamic Text. Suddenly the font size changes even when it still shows 280! How can I make the visual size stay the same?

I'm a noob, so please forgive me if i'm asking something really stupid! I'm doing a group project and i've just got the code from someone else, so i can add my part.
I am trying to add text in actionscript 3 (in a actions frame) simple enough. but.i want to have words next to each other, that have different fonts, font sizes and colors. I've been googling and experimenting for most of the day and haven't really got anywhere.

When i first got the code, all that was there, was the info.text = "Animal...... line, i added the rest and also tried adding other line of code to make other words be in different fonts, but it didn't work.
So heres what i'm trying to do; I would like to have the headings, example; Animal name, Animal Type.. in one font, and the answers, example; Kangaroo, Mammal in another font.As it is at the moment, it look crap, because its all in the same font, color and size.

When you click on the large font size, you can still scroll, but eventually the text gets cut off.[code]Does any one know a trick to get the increase the font size without it getting cut off?
