I was recently tasked with replicating [URL] in HTML5 and jQuery. I'm currently struggling to do the effect where the menus slide up behind the images when an arrow is clicked (See the Menu section for the best example) and was wondering if this is actually possible in jQuery. When you open the site, there's a really sweet slideshow. I've been able to replicate the sliding action and I can click on each image to take me to a new URL, but I can't get it to automatically rotate on it's own. The numbers are fine, but I'd also like to add next/prev buttons.
Like I said, I got it scrolling, I just don't know how they're controlling theirs. I think I'm just doing it all wrong.
I'm trying to replicate the motion of a 'mexican wave'. I am using Flash CS5, and using AS2. I've created a 'jumper' graphic and animated it in a clip so it jumps once - up then falls back to the ground. I've pulled the clip in to the main timeline and replicated a bunch of times so I have a row of 'jumpers'. I've given each instance a unique ID. Then I'm telling each clip instance to start playing, in sequence, using the following code:

In the clip, I have put stop() in the last frame to try and stop it looping. So this works ok, but the clips seem to loop - I can't get them to stop.

Based on my knowledge of Photoshop and some... and by some I mean very VERY little Flash... I took it upon myself and another member of the community to create this.
All was going well until the member decided it wasn't his cup of tea. Basically, he didn't like that he couldn't do it well enough.
Ok, so I've installed Flash and tooled around with it for a bit, but I want to get going. I know this isn't the best place to post this thread - I know there are probably better places - but I just wanted to know where and what to begin with. I have the whole thing planned out in levels, layers, and motion...
[URL]there are 5 links on the right side homepage, about us, our coffee, services, contacts my question is about the sliding effect when any of these 5 links are clicked. when any of these links are clicked whatever page content is currently visible, that content slides away to the right and then the content of the link that has been clicked slides from the left and this page content appears, how is this created.
i am guessing that the rectangular area where the content for all the 5 pages appears can be a containing movie clip, and when any of the 5 links are clicked on each of those links in the action script code for on release code will be written to display the appropriate page however how can i get that sliding effect of pushing the existing content away to the right and display the links content which would slide from the left, how to go about doing this i am guessing it would be an action script code.
Is it possible to make a glow effect any other way then flash? I want to get rid of the whole flash menu and use something browser friendly.I am looking for alternatives or similar effect.
View 3 RepliesI have a div with a flash object in it. That div is going to pop up in a modal triggered when a user clicks a thumbnail of the flash presentation. The problem occurs when I try to use the scale effect to scale in or out, it errors out.

I have this flash header in my website. On older computers the flash file askes a lot of recourses and that is not considered user friendly. Can this effect be achieved in a other way of scripting for example with ajax or Jquery?

View 1 RepliesI have build a gallery but its very simple. It takes images from xml file. I have attached all files in zip. First when I press next button it goes to next image but with no effect. It just displays next image. I want to incorporate a sliding effect when the image is changed to another. And second I want to use autoplay feature. As soon as swf starts the images came one by one with difference of few seconds.

I have noted this effect being used in many other sites.. And none of them seem to employ flash for making this. Please let me know whether this is just JS or whether its purely a CSS based effect, and probably a place where i can read on how to make this.
I'm trying to emulate the transition effect from the site venuliving.com (I'd post the link but I don't have enough posts).
When you click through the various sections, coloured bars expand and move across the site, they hold while subtly moving and then shrink out once the section has loaded.
how this sort of thing is achieved? I've been considering creating the whole thing using coloured rectangles and TweenMax but I'm wondering if this was created dynamically in AS3? Or if it's a customization of some existing transition?

I'm using the HTML5 JW Player. It sizes the HTML5 video correctly, but shrinks the Flash fallback player; here's an example page: Test Page
If you view that page in IE, you'll notice that on panel 5, the video is smaller than the space it's supposed to occupy. On Firefox, it works fine because it's using the OGG video in its HTML5 video player.Is there a way to resize the Flash video via JavaScript/jQuery to fit the same space as the HTML5 video?
I was wanting to know whether it is possible to replicate this flash file (link below) using action script. By replicate i mean do more or less exactly what this does but perform a little more smoothly. Certainly i shouldnt have to go through all this on the timeline for such small results. The flash file below took me ages to do and im sure via action script it should be much quicker and easier.

View 2 RepliesI am converting a Flash Web App to a Javascript(HTML and CSS) Web App. I have a cube rotation animation working but I have a problem with the perspective.My Problem: I am not sure which CSS attribute I should use to replicate the Flash versions perspective(please see the 2 images below). The 2 below images where taken while the cube rotation was occuring and you can see the difference in the perspective(the 2nd image is too wide and should look like the first). Here's what I'm trying to do: I want to have a dark gray background (0x323232 to be specific) with some light, fine grained monochromatic noise on it. I've been mucking around with the perlinNoise method but it's 'too much noise'. Too much contrast. View 2 RepliesI've looked high and low for an answer to this and I'm hoping someone has an answer, or at least a tip on how to avoid it.I'm loading a static HTML file into a container via the jQuery load() method. This static HTML file has a script which loads a swf. When I load that particular file, I get the white screen of death (WSOD) and the page explodes and everyone in the room dies a horrible death.I've had this happen also when using the jQuery wrap methods (wrap, wrapOuter, etc.) when a swf is present.It seems manipulating the DOM with a container that has a swf object causes this. Does anyone have a solution or a way that I can prevent it happening?

The loading works fine, but some of my pages had specific jquery scripts and that's where I've struck out so far. I assumed all I needed to do was transfer the script importations, css stylesheets and the jquery functions to my main document, but it won't work.
I also tried importing the html as a the complete html, which works on it's own, but not when imported into the main document. Most recently I heard I should try shifting the jquery function calls to the end of the loaded document, to after the content, My scripts work, just not when imported, so I suppose my question is how can I make the main- and imported documents play nice with each other? What say you we make this a jump-start tutorial for all us noobs to reference?
