Flex :: Calling A Web Service That Has An Untrusted Certificate Using Ssl ?
Oct 22, 2009
In our flex/air application we are calling a web service over https. The web service is java based and has, at the moment, an untrusted certificate. When doing a POST to the service with some json, the payload on the server side is pretty garbled.A popup does occur asking whether you want to continue and even when I do and add the untrusted certificate into my keychain (on the mac), the data sent through always comes through mangled.I installed charles http proxy to see the actual traffic and it seems at times I'm getting a SSLHandshakeException back...I'm guessing this is causing the garbled data as ssl isn't being setup properly.
Flex portlet is calling a webservice and I am intercepting the calls to check the session credentials using XFire AbstractHandler method implementation. But I am not getting the same httpsession value that is used for login in to the application. I have intercepted the calls using TCPmon also.
Assuming calling the same ColdFusion web service and all other factors are identical, is there a difference in performance/speed between using the following two tags?
I am a .NET programmer working with a Flash designer on a project. The design is that they will create a flash UI (implemented with AS2) to present a questionnaire. After it is completed by an end user, the will send me (a .net web service of some form) the answers to the questionnaire, I will perform a calculation, and I will send a response back (the response will likely be a single integer, though it may be a touple of (integer score, string description).
Neither myself nor the designer is knowledgeable of Action Script. Does anyone have a snippet for such web service calls in AS2? Are there any soap libraries for AS2 that we could use, or should I expose a RESTful interface? Can it be as simple as having the designer concat the questionnaire answers into the query string of the service URL? What would be a typical data format for my response (xml, json, plain text)
I am experiencing a strange problem when I want to bind a service to a button or something else:
[Code]...
I can add the services to the Data Services panel but I have two strange things:
1) when I want to configure the return type he doesn't let me create a new ValueObject type, I only get the bottom datagrid which states: Properties returned by the operation: Property: country_Id, provence_Id, city_Id, id_cdpc, district_Id with the related values on the right side. Why can't I create a new data type on the top?
2) When I accept this and want to add the service call to a button (drag&drop) I get the following error: Error occurred while generating code. Make sure that there are no compiler eroors and try again after reopening the file. Componentn type services.cdpc.CDPC not found... (ps: When I perform a Test Operation everything seems to be ok, I get the expected output values)
Basically, I'm using a remote object that access to a secure EndPoint. This EndPoint is located into my server. It means that my channel is a SecureAMFChannel. If I accept the certificat by going directly to this URL with my browser, then I'm able to run my flex application and to exchange some data. However, if I'dont go to this url to accept the server's certificat, and launch my Flex application, the remoteObject is not able to accept the certificat. And of course, any information can be exchanged.
My problem is, how to accept automatically a certificat in a Flex application.Do I need to configure something to accept it? Maybe my manipulation is not correct. my certificat is self-signed, do you think that this problem could be solved by buying a Certificat signed by a CA?
I am using a service that returns JSON (geonames.org) and I'm putting the result in an array and dumping it to a datagrid. Now that works fine for one city like this [URL].. However, I want to call this service multiple times with different city names, so I created an XML list ad figured I would iterate over the city list and get the results.
My question is how do I do this such that 1) all the lists are combined into one arraycollection and 2) this seems like I will have to chain the calls and wait for results which may or may not come back, so I thought I would ask the group about the best practice, and or resources to read and examples to build from.
How do I generate a self-signed certificate to sign an adobe AIR app? I'm using the maven flexmojos plugin. I've followed an openssl tutorial to generate a .p12, but now the mvn plugin /adt compiler is telling me that the certificate is not a X509 certificate.
I'm trying to connect to AMFPHP over SSL (self-signed) from a Flex 4.5 application. Will this work? Or do I need an authority-signed certificate? Will it silently fail or prompt user like it does in browser? How do I need to edit the services-config.xml file for this to work?
I need to get some SSL information (such as the 'issued by' parameter and so on). I know you can get the certificate status with a recent Adobe addition (secureSocket.serverCertificateStatus) but i need to know as much as possible about the certificate and hence my question.
I have a Flash web app which displays user submitted PNG files. Files are uploaded to the server via some API prior to being displayed. I'd like to make sure no "bad" files are served to Flash, where "bad" is entirely unspecific. Is there a way to validate PNG files against the PNG specs (this would catch corrupted files)? Or any best pratice on dealing with untrusted image files? I only need to handle PNG, so JPG, GIF etc. support is necessary. Language mostly does not matter, though I'd prefer Python solutions. This is on a Unix webserver.
"The SSL Certificate is not trusted." dialog occurs in Adobe AIR application. How can I detect this situation before it happens? (Actually I want my app to bypass the warning...) check the following code:
I have a demo application using Adobe Air that accesses my own SSL web service that uses a self-signed certificate. In .NET clients, I can explicitly handle (and ignore) certificate warnings and suppress them via the ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback. I've examined the URLRequest and URLLoader classes but haven't found anything.
An Adobe FLEX 4 object loads from a webpage and runs in the browser. The connection between browser and server is secured using SSL over HTTP (HTTPS) with a secure certificate from a valid Certificate Authority.
Can FLEX code read the secure certificate information and retrieve information such as to whome the certificate was issued, when it is valid, and for what domain it was issued, etc. ?
How can i settings crossdomain.xml my flex project.* this is my crossdomain.xml.
<?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd"> <cross-domain-policy> <site-control permitted-cross-domain-policies="all"/>
[code].....
I've tried lots of different methods but my project send error message "Security error accessing url Unable to load WSDL. If currently online, please verify the URI and/or format of the WSDL [URL]"
I am trying to access a .Net service which requires an authentication header. If WebService is used it works fine. But when it is accessed using HTTPService it throws error. The project is already done by somebody else using HTTPService. Now changing to webService requires some time since there needs to be modification in a lot of files.
Below is the SOAP envelop required by the service.
Is there some sort of configuration settings in FlashBuilder 4.5 where you can easily switch between webservice urls? Right now I have to delete and recreate the web service every time I switch from local to production and vice versa.
I have a grails application that will be rendering an html page into a pdf file and I have a flex application sitting on a server that is going to accept REST parameters and construct a graph based on the parameters (which will be formatted in JSON). What I want to do is make a call to the flex app with my parameters and have the flex app create the graph, render a JPEG of the graph, then send an image back to grails. In other words, I want to put an HTML img src=that will render the image directly to the page so that my PDF Plugin in grails will render it into the PDF.
Is it possible to develop flex/Air application as a service. The application doesn't require any GUI it should run as service in embedded Linux/Linux/Windows.
determine what is preventing my web service from being called. We have a working application in production and the developer who wrote it has left. am trying to build it on my machine and I can see a web service call in fiddler being made with the URL "/Services.asmx/MethodName" (as a GET request).I have set my break point in the asmx web service and it is not being hit. All I get in the flex front end is a pop up with " The remote server failed to respond and may be offline. he web service is in the same application as the web app that hosts the SWF file.I have the cross domain policy file in place.
is it possible to stop a web service from executing?
I have a flex web application that searches clients with both full name and client id, when searching by name sometimes the usuer just types the last name and it takes a long time.
Since the app is used when clients are waiting in line, I would like to be able to stop the search and use their full name or id instead, and avoid waiting for the results and then having to search the user manually within the results.
I meant "web service" I actually meant mx.rpc.soap.mxml.WebService, I want to stop it from waiting for the result event and the fault event.
I am bussy with a Flex Project with a data services. Flash builder installed Zend Framework with Zend_Amf.
When i run the project i get the error NetConnection.Call.Failed: HTTP: Failed. With chalers i say that Zend_Amf give the error: AMF data is incomplete (0 bytes of 0 bytes). Please check the recording limits in the Recording Settings.
I don't know what the problem means. I have searched on google, but i haven't found a good result. The Flex project code is:
I am new to Flex and needed some help setting up Web service client.I have a web service of method: public String printEchoStr(String str);I am facing problem while creating action script to call this service.I am getting error1067 : Implicit coercion of a value of type String to an unrelated ty generated. webservices:PrintEcho.I am not sure if this is the correct way.
My flex 3.5 application has an audio player whose content is accessed by calling an AMF service to get the mp3 data. As far as I can tell, flash.media.Sound is initialized with a URLRequest, so it's not clear to me how I can provide it with data using my RemoteObject.
I want to do one of the following things:
Provide data to the Sound object's load method from a RemoteObject service call. Create a URLRequest object that will perform the requisite AMF wrapping so that my service implementation will look exactly like any other service call if at all possible. Any alternative that allows me to invoke a PHP4 AMF service and play the audio it returns in a Flash audio player.
