I am using FMS for live streaming. Am using Flash to publish live video, I have one to one live streaming where I can see other end user live video and other end person can see mine live video. So one input stream going to server and one out put stream coming back. The problem what I was getting is sound is getting echo i.e., Repetitive sound getting.
I have several sounds of same length playing on the Timeline, each playing in loop on their own layer so that they can be syncronised on the same tempo (i did not managed to do this through pure AS3).
Is it possible to manipulate the sounds on this timeline individually via actionscript (ie: add listeners, change volume, read position) ?
Searching for how to change the volume of sounds, I always get this irritating snd=new Sound(URLRequest), followed by snd.setVolume(val). Oh, fine, but my sound is not an URLRequest, it's an embed.
I've made a lot of random attempts (1) to no avail. How am I supposed to do that instead?
(1) including casting my class to Sound, creating a Sound with the embed class as argument, creating a SoundTransform and setting it to the channel, etc.
I know the stream can only be modified at publishing side by previous posts. I was thinking of using Server shared objects, but it's not supported by lite.
Live streaming and a buffer on a NetStream do not mix. Why? The docs don't say you can't do this. The playback gets hosed. Buffer is supposed to fill to what you set it to before playing. Instead though, about half the time, the player starts playing right away and disregards the buffer time you've set. Then you get caught in short buffering and rebuffering cycles that degrades the playback experience.
Give it a shot yourself. Here is the simplest of live streaming video players. No frills. Just connect it to your live stream by changing the defaultURL string and stream name in the ns.play() statement.
Run it in Flex debug mode. It will check and print the ns.bufferLength property every second. The buffer is set to 20 secs currently. Last time I ran it, I never made it above 2 seconds in the buffer. Player started playing right away instead of buffering the full 20 secs first. Sometimes you get to the full 20 and sometimes not.
I'm trying to get Flex Builder 3 to play a live video stream with Flash Media Server and Flash Live Media Encoder.
I'm able to stream pre-recrorded (vod) flvs in flex from flash media server. I'm able to stream live video using Flash/FMS/Flas Live Media Encoder, but not with Flex.
This code streams pre-recorded Video on Demand flvs, but not live streams: If I change source to "rtmp://localhost/live/livesream.flv, I get nothing.
I'm building a video player and am kinda stuck at the volume slider part. It's a YouTube style vertical slider, meaning if the slider is in the top position volume should be 100% and if the slider is dragged to the bottom position sound should be 0. Currently it's doing the opposite of what I want :(
Dragging the slider down will make the sound louder, while dragging up lowers it.
Here is my code below dealing with the volume slider.
[Code]....
The (-4) is an offset value so when you drag it all the way to turn it off, it's 0 and not 4. I need to reverse this somehow, so the traces above will swap... going down will make userVolume = 4 and going up will make it 30.
I build a client side application where is only a FLVPlayback2.5 component and a short AS3 script.
[Code]....
My Encoder is setup with three streams: Vid: 500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 800 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 1500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbps I start the encoder and everything looks fine in the log. In my browser (Safari or Firefox) I go to my html site and the stream starts after 6-8 sec. But anytime with the lowest bitrate 548 kbps and nothing look like the stream is switching to another bitrate. I tried it with the smil playlist and the result is the same. Only the lowest bitrate is plublished.
I'm having a problem with recording a live webcam stream. The last few seconds of the stream is getting cut off. The recording is stopped with the following piece of code:
I'm trying to stream a HDS live multi-bit stream, it seems to push to the FMS but my player doesn't display the stream. Are these settings and files correct? The documenation is confusing on what and which files need to be edited and/or created.
Encoder settings: Bit Rate: 150,500,700 FMS URL: rtmp://myserver/livepkgr Stream: liveevent%i?adbe-live-event?liveevent
FMS 4.5
I see the following directories being created when I start encoding and each directory has a single file with a .stream extension in them. Are these correct? fC:FMS-HOMEapplicationslivepkgrevents\_definst_liveevent1[code].....
I've created a small music player with a sliding volume control. I'm having trouble with the volume. Though it does control volume properly, if I set the initial volume to less than 100%, the volume always starts at 100% until I move my mouse over the player. At that point, the volume changes to whatever the initial volume is set to.Is this a flash bug, or am I missing something? Here is the affected code (code for other buttons/functions omitted for brevity):
var song_initvolume:Number = 100; slider_1._x = groove_1._x + song_initvolume; playSong(0,song_play);[code]....
I'd like to be able to set the volume at say 50%, but the above mentioned behavior happens each time.
It seems right to me but I don't know. The movie button slides down the slider bar but it just doesn't affect the volume. Going to try to attach my FLA to offer better insight. Just tried to upload it and no matter if it's FLA or zipped FLA, it says it failed.
I try to switch or change a server-side stream, it starts lagging after 2 seconds of playing and sound disappears. Here are scenarios that result in that terrible lag:
1. I create server-side playlist with stream.play() with reset=false; when it is time to play the next movie in the playlist, it starts lagging after 2 seconds.
2. The same problems appears when I just switch streams. I installed FMF Feature Explorer and tried to launch SwitchStreams sample application: the same problem - server stream starts lagging after I switch streams with stream.play().
I tried on different servers (local and remote), with different players (debug player of FMS Admin Console, Standard Flash videoplayer component, OSMF player, Flex video player). I also tried all possible flv, f4v and mp4 file compression options for video files - still the same problem. I have also tried literally thousands of Application.xml settings: changing buffer, buffer ration etc. Is there any tip where I should search for a solution?
I have a layout with narration and a nav bar. When I click a nav button for section 2, the audio from section 1 (set to stream) continues to play over the audio for section 2. This cumulates so if I click buttons for sections 3, 4 and 5, I get five audio files playing on top of each other. Sections are individual movie clips with embedded audio streaming on a Sounds layer in each movie clip.
How can i stream video live by the help of PHP like live tv? I am willing not to use flash media server. If it is must to use it then which server is free and reliable?
I have a broadcasting project that I've got where the host of the show can have multiple sound effects they can use on their show.I'm wondering if the only way to go about this is for all the clients listening to the show need to download the mp3 of that sound effect or if the sound effect could come from the host ...like combining his mic (for his voice) but also straight audio (the sound effect) into the stream.
Possible to place or insert text on live video stream using the FMS?Whether with any solution or plugin.I am a web radio broadcaster and would like to have information on the screen like the station's phone number instead of having to keep reading it out all the time.
I'm having some trouble finding out how you can add metadata to a live stream. I'm streaming the webcam over fms and recording it in main.asc. So far so good. I have 2 applications. One that sends data and one that recieves data. The functionality is more or less like this example. The article says: "Note: If you record the video on the server side (a functionality of FMIS), the injected events are lso being triggered by the recorded file." That is what I want, but I have no idea how to make it happen. The problem is that I can't find any good examles for as3 and I have never looked into as2 (still new to flash in general )
I'm recording a lot of live streams for archiving purposes. Is it possible to somehow (programmaticly) get the timestamp of a certain point of such record?
When I use Adobe Flash Media Server 4.5 publish http live stream. I found a message from Server Log of Manage Servers of Adobe Flash Media Administrator Console. It says that "Failed to record live stream (disk quota exceeded)."
How to create a script of some kind to grab a still picture from a live stream and save it as a JPG file?
In this way a cron job can tricker the script and thereby grab a picture fx every 10'th minute and the picture can be shown on a website so people that are not attending can have a look into what is happening in the live stream.
