I have a chart with multiple series (Area and Plot). The Area series has 'xField' as 'timeStamp' and 'yField' as 'price'. The Plot Series has 'xField' as 'timeStamp' and no 'yField'.... ! Can I position the plot series though I do not have a corresponding 'yField' value ? Can I assign a default value to the 'yField' (say '10' for all...?)

Now i need to fill the color of the series dynamically based on the feature is pass or fail. for eg if in a particular build feature 1: Pass, feature 2: Fail, feature 3:Fail then the color sequence of the column will be green, red, red. how to implement this logic and where? I made a little example project to range over series data in a CartesianChart (Line/Area/Column/Bar), a little bit like the google finance chart. When I add all series to the chart, the problem didn't occur. Only when I have multiple series and remove one or more series and than range over the data, the series data get compressed:

I want a chart that has several separate series running in rows across. They are largely separate charts and should not overlap, but all share the same horizontal datetimeaxis. They don't share the same y-axis, however and that's where I'm getting stuck.I have tried having a linechart series and then a plotchart series, but it will only allow a single <mx:series> per chart without having them inside the same series which as far as I can tell will place the charts on top of each other in the z-axis. I can stack them and have them completely separate charts, but it was proving to be somewhat irritating having them align correctly.
Is there any reasonable way of combining multiple charts into one like this? Basically having rows in a table where each row is a different chart but the columns are consistent. or am I going to be best served just by stacking separate ones? an illustration of what i'm going for is here: http:[url]........
I am creating a chart using mxml. The mxml tags only create a chart with a horizontal axis and vertical axis. My result event handler has actionscript code that loops through the xml result set and creates all the series (line series and stacked bar). This part of the code works fine. Now I need to use the functionfill function to set individual colors to each series. All the examples I have found call the functionfill from within an MXML tag, like so:

I am trying to use AlivePDF to save a chart into a .pdf file. However, when I try to save my chart, it ends up clipping half of the chart in the pdf so it isn't even fully visible. I've tried changing the loading of the SWC file to Runtime Shared Libraries, but I found that this removed the text of the charts (the text for the x and y axis). Why would the text be removed when the Framework linkage is set as a Runtime shared library?

I'm creating a mobile app in which I need to show a calendar with months at the top. The months are part of a component that extends from SkinnableDataContainer (and has some custom scrolling/behaviour - which is why I did'nt use a spark list). I need the months to be shown as a 'trapezium' shaped tab and so I'm using a png image as a mask in the item renderer for the component.
When the mask is not applied, it all works well - the months render, the list/data container selection works when I click on a month and so on.When the mask is applied, it renders well, scrolling and everything else seems to work well - but when I click on a month, nothing happens visually. And from the trace statements in my code, it appears list item selection is not changing. Looks like mouse clicks are not working.

The source for the image has to be set based on a property present in the data provider. The problem is, I am not able to access the BarSeriesItem in the fnSetSource() method.

I have used states in my application.The thing is I have made the first item in my list to be selected. so I gave like this,

View 2 RepliesIn a LineChart in Flex you can set a LineSeries to interpolateValues="true" what this does is connect missing values so you do not have gaps in your line. But what I would like is for it to insert 0's for the missing fields instead of drawing a direct line to fill the gap.
Is there a way to set it to do that?

I have a requirement to come up with a time line chart and a few more controls on a single page[with rich ui]. I have short listed Flex, JSF[apache trinidad], html5, gwt these technologies. None of them provide timeline charts on their own. I am looking at other options such as using third party libraries. The chart should have drill down capabilities as well. Let me know if there is any specific technology that I should try.
