Flex :: 'fake' Multiple Series For Single Chart Or Same DateTime Axis For Multiple Charts?
Apr 11, 2011
I want a chart that has several separate series running in rows across. They are largely separate charts and should not overlap, but all share the same horizontal datetimeaxis. They don't share the same y-axis, however and that's where I'm getting stuck.I have tried having a linechart series and then a plotchart series, but it will only allow a single <mx:series> per chart without having them inside the same series which as far as I can tell will place the charts on top of each other in the z-axis. I can stack them and have them completely separate charts, but it was proving to be somewhat irritating having them align correctly.
Is there any reasonable way of combining multiple charts into one like this? Basically having rows in a table where each row is a different chart but the columns are consistent. or am I going to be best served just by stacking separate ones? an illustration of what i'm going for is here: http:[url]........
I want to show the second line series underneath the first one, however with this code they are appearing sequentially. Not sure how to make sure they are overlayed! I followed some code I saw for combining charts.. not sure what to do.
There is a serious issue I am facing with flash builder charts.
When I load the chart the first time I get this -
But if I refresh the page immediately in the same browser, I get this -
The second one is the expected one. This issue just repeats if I close the browser window and open it in a new browser window. For explaining properly, I am attaching the source code here -
I want to get my movieclip "dial_graphcis_mph" to start at X position 0, move to X position -292.35,move back to X position -220, and then yoyo between -230 and -220.Is it possible to do this without using the TweenTimeline class or similar?I want to keep all the code on the stage with the movieclip if possible...The following code only yoyos between 0 and -292.35.
stop(); import fl.transitions.Tween;import fl.transitions.easing.*;import fl.transitions.TweenEvent; var tweenMPH = new Tween(dial_graphics_mph, "x", Strong.easeInOut, 0, -292.35, 6, true);
In one of our project we are using flex for front end, blazeds/java in the backend. Its an existing code where services are prewritten. I have to make calls to 3 services in the backend (basically 3 remote objects) and get their result and store the result in an object and show the data of this object in a view. Now in front end we are using Flex and Parsley Framework. I was thinking of the following approaches.
1) Making commands for each service call and storing the result in a shared object (model) and then displaying this model in the view. In this approach the problem is some services are needed in some other web pages, but they donot need the same model. How should i handle this scenario ? Should i make a asynchronous remote call and fetch the result and then again dispatch and event with the event object storing the result.
2) Making a service call , wait for the result then make another call and wait for the result and then make other call, not sure if this is the right way ?
I have multiple line charts in Flex Charting (3.x). The charts (and number of charts) are being dynamically generated, and are either of "type A" or "type B." The type of data on the Y-axis is different for type A then it is for type B. The x-axis is time.
Each chart is placed in its own VBox (with a few other things) that make up a larger canvas of the Type A or Type B. This VBox is given an absolute X position. It is very high priority that the different charts line up, so that comparisons (in time) can be made.
What ends up happening is that the vertical axis for some charts takes up more width then others, so the charts are no longer aligned in time.
I'm making a chart where the x-axis needs to have dates and y-axis names. The lenght of the bar is longer when the date is later. But I want to stack multiple bars on eachother. for example This is the code I have so far
I have a Flex LineChart which contains three series:
two LineSeries one ColumnSet
Has anyone seen or heard of a way to set the dataTipRenderer on a per-series basis? You can only override it for the entire chart and I would prefer to not have to overlay multiple charts just to achieve this effect.
Without being able to modify the prototype chain, is it possible to fake multiple inheritance in AS3?
Say I have three Window classes. One is a DraggableWindow, one is a ScalingWindow, and one is a BorderWindow.
I want to mix and match new subclasses at runtime without having to make tons of new permutations of Window subclass possibilities.
Sure, I can implement these behaviors of the Window class as interfaces, but I would still have to account for all the permutations of interface combinations.
I have a chart with multiple series (Area and Plot). The Area series has 'xField' as 'timeStamp' and 'yField' as 'price'. The Plot Series has 'xField' as 'timeStamp' and no 'yField'.... ! Can I position the plot series though I do not have a corresponding 'yField' value ? Can I assign a default value to the 'yField' (say '10' for all...?)
I'm new to Flex. I've been graphing multiple series in a line chart where all of these series are the same length. Now I need to plot new data and each series has a different length from each other. The question is how to modify the following code to do this.
The initApp() function is called at the start of the program, and it calls function genData() to generate the dataSet used for plotting in the LineChart.
public function initApp():void { // Initialize data provider array. dataSet = new ArrayCollection(genData());
[Code]....
Can someone recommend how to place array1, array2, array3, and array4 into x1, y1, x2, y2 (respectively) when the length of array1 and array2 do not equal that of array3 and array4? Or, equivalent outcome.
I'm assuming everything has to come in through dataSet, but I wonder if it's possible to simply reference array1 (etc.) directly from <mx:LineChart ...> or <mx:LineSeries ...> somehow, to avoid wasting memory on an unnecessary array (e.g. dataSet).
Can anyone suggest an open-sourced time-series chart created using flex??(With functionalities like the one on google/yahoo finance??)Googling gives a lot of unnecessary data,
I want to create a daily build chart with 1 column as 1 build, 1 build will have 3 series for eg feature 1, feature 2, feature 3. Now i need to fill the color of the series dynamically based on the feature is pass or fail. for eg if in a particular build feature 1: Pass, feature 2: Fail, feature 3:Fail then the color sequence of the column will be green, red, red. how to implement this logic and where? (if in fillfunction)
I have a problem with the cartesian charts in the Adobe Flex SDK 4.5 and 4.5.1. Perhaps it's a bug, because it's not in the SDK 4.0, 4.1 and 4.6. Or it's just a problem of my code.
I made a little example project to range over series data in a CartesianChart (Line/Area/Column/Bar), a little bit like the google finance chart. When I add all series to the chart, the problem didn't occur. Only when I have multiple series and remove one or more series and than range over the data, the series data get compressed:
Chart image It seems like the horizontal axis didn't change or didn't get an update that the chart data changed, when I range over the current data.
[Code]...
Had someone the same problem or has an idea how to remove a series in another way?
I have a candleStickChart in flex 4.5 with a dateTimeAxis horizontal axis.I wish to have a button that enables to draw a line on top of that chart.I wrote a code that each time the button is click, a new CartesianDataCanvas is created. than I do a pretty standard line drawing by listening for the MOUSE_DOWN, MOUSE_MOVE, and MOUSE_UP to draw the line.In the MOUSE_DOWN event I create the new CartesianDataCanvas, and update the annotaionArray as described in the following code: (candles is the candleStickChart's id)
public function startDrawing(event:MouseEvent):void { canvas = new CartesianDataCanvas;
I have an application in flash, I build in ActionScript 3.0 Flash IDE, my application loads some external swfs which mentioned via XML file. Its working fine at the moment. But I need to compile all these external SWFs and xml file into single exe file. How can I compile like this. or how can I code like this?
EDIT: 1 from here : [URL]
You can see an example, the application is build in .net and it import pdf and publish it as flash projector or web based(swf). How is it compiling all the external SWF files.
I am trying to place an image besides the label in y-axis. So I have created a custom label renderer(A HBox containing and ). The source for the image has to be set based on a property present in the data provider. The problem is, I am not able to access the BarSeriesItem in the fnSetSource() method.
I have a Line Series Chart in Flex with values from 0 to 90. I would like to set the background of the chart in such a way that, 0 - 30 is in green, 31 - 60 is in red and 61 - 90 is in blue.
I want to know when the data has been added to a chart so I can use localToData() to draw on the chart. If I do this immediately after setting the dataProvider the chart has not yet updated, so the the call to localToData will not return the correct values. Is there an event I can subscribe to so I know the chart has drawn the data in the dataProvider?
How can I populate multiple datagrids in flex with a single datasource that is filtered differently for each datagrid. I'm assigning the event.result from my remote object call to three different array collections, each with its own filter function. When I assign and refresh the filter functions, they each affect all array collections. So, the results of the last array collection refresh end up in all three datagrids.
I have data model (dataProvider as ArrayCollection) i want to display in few views , each view should show filtered data. As you probably know, filterFunction is property of ArrayCollection,so I can't use this solution (unless creating new instance of ArrayCollection for each view on top original and impementing filterFunction).
I have a flex datagrid with 3 columns. The first column contains the image name(unique key). The other two columns have username and size details. I want to split the username into lastname, firstname, address and some other stuff. Can we have multiple rows in the grid for one image? Tried multi-line, it works but we need to keep adding spaces and its cumbersome. Since each row in the flex datagrid is represented by one index in the XMLList which is enumerated, is there a way to have more than one row assigned to one image and shown in the grid? something like this.
I have created a custom component that I am using, more conveniently, as a SkinnablePopUpContainer and I want to use the same function that calls and receives data from it for several Buttons in the UI. What is the best way to achieve this without having to create a new function for each button?
I have a line chart with a column chart as a secondary series. When I roll over the line, the datatips appear. However, if I move the mouse to a spot where a column appears while still on the line, the data tip item appears for the line AND the column. How do I get it so that I only show datatips for the line but not the column?
I have a maven project that produces many artifacts. Of course it is kind of against maven best practice (one pom one artifact), but it is Adobe Flex project that produces many *swf modules and it is really makes no sence to create a separate project for each module.
For me it would be very convinient to handle all swf modules as a single zip archive eg. zip archive would be my artifact.
So I am looking for the way to pack and unpack my zip artifact with maven.
I have created a simple mxml file with code as follows: <s:application..........> <s:BorderContainer> <s:SkinnableContainer id="firstRow"/> <s:SkinnableContainer id="secondRow"/> <s:SkinnableContainer id="thirdRow"/> </s:BorderContainer> </s:application>
Now I want to apply different font size, font color and font type and background color on each row i.e each of the three skinnableContainers.Currently I have defined 3 different skin classes for each of row but I think this is a bad programing. I should create a single skin class for outermost container i.e BorderContainer and any how provide different fonts and background color to all the 3 child containers through that skin class. So, is it possible that I can create single skin class that can provide different decorations to each of the child container.
I want each item in a list to change to a totally unique view file. Instead of 10 items in a list all going to 1 new view but with different info being generated I want 10 different view, 1 per item in the list. I can't find any examples of how to do this and I have been tryingo to make it for for a while. This is for a mobile app.
