Feb 3, 2012I'm currently working with the OLAPDataGrid component and got stuck at a relatively simple task: I want to style the last row of the grid differently from the rest, so my cell item renderer needs to know whether he's rendering the last row with content in the overall grid, including those rows currently not rendered because they are outside the visible grid space. AdvancedGridListData's rowIndex property only gets me the row index of the renderer relative to the range of visible grid rows, i.e. when I scroll down the grid, a data item with an index greater than 0 gets the rpw index = 0.

Flex :: Update Hierarchical Data Provider In Advanced Data Grid During Drag And Drop?
Nov 11, 2010I am trying to drag and drop hierarchical data in the same advanced data grid, and I would like the data provider to updated when the ADG is updated. (I want to be able to save and load this tree, so it is important that drags and drops are saved.)

The sample app has an ADG showing hierarchical data as well as flat data. The first column of each datagrid shows the rowindex of the underlying data.
If you rearrange the items on the left ADG, the row indexes become unordered. If you click traceTree you see that the data provider is not in order.
On the other hand if you do the same on the right, the row numbers stay ordered even when the objects move around and if you click traceFlat, the data provider is in the order shown on ADG
My goal is to have the data provider order match the ADG order for the left grid which is displaying hierarchical data.

Mar 23, 2012I've search all over today trying to find how to do this, and not being familiar with actionscript is starting to catch up to me. What I would like to accomplish is: I have a list of messages in a Datagrid coming from a dataprovider in another class, which in turn gets them from our Oracle DB. I need to all the user to set a visible state on the message, and then filter that out of the datagrid with the click of a button. I have the check box for hide, and it sets that value into the database. I can't figure out how to get the filterFunction to work with an array collection when the filter parameter is within the row data.Here is the code

At the group node level, other than the gorup name I want to be able to show data in the rest of the cells ( calculated data ) and I am looking for some dataRowBound event or similar to be able to hook some data in it.

Actionscript 3 :: Select A Set Of Grid Cells Along A Given Angle Quickly?
Feb 22, 2012I have set up a grid class that contains theoretical cells. I have a method collectCells() which accepts a starting point, radians and distance as arguments. I want this method to return an Array containing all the cells that are along a given angle and that are within the specified distance from the starting point, e.g. The easiest way for me to do this is just loop through all the pixels in the given direction and pick cells up as I go, something like:

This is obviously really poor, as the loop will be as long as the distance I specify - extremely slow. I tried something different, creating a nextCell() method which accepts the last collected cell and radians. The method threw a point 25 pixels in the direction specified by radians, collected the resulting cell and then started over from that cell for a given amount of cells.
I didn't really think about this approach clearly enough, and once done realized that I had a problem, being that the actual path I'm testing gets broken each time the next cell is sought, e.g. Where the green dotted line is the desired path, and the blue lines are the paths that make up each nextCell() call because the check is made from the centre of each cell. What is the correct way to efficiently collect the cells in a given direction over a specified distance (pixels)?

Dec 7, 2009when we use an advanced data grid, only when we click on the parent element the children details get populated in the corresponding columns, right?..SO now i have made the empty columns invisible(at design) now how do i make them visible at run time when the parent element is expanded..similarly once the columns are visible, how can i make them invisible again when the parent element is closed.
