I want to convert a .avi into a flash movie and import it into Dreamweaver as a background image so that it will expand in all different resolutions 1. what do I need to consider when building this in Flash (using MX 04)?2. What should my html look like in order to call this file as a background swf (and poss css file)?

I have come quite a long way and i have made a site in flash but i just have a question.I have been using an image as my background and i am happy with the way flash automatically scales all the objects in my file but the background image does not scale. Is there a way to do this? I have found out things online which show me how to add auto-resizing to the background but this knocks off the flash auto scaling/resizing for everything else.

I am making a new flash website and i stack on the as3 part.My site have a menu like all the site do.Now on the site load there is a background picture.When you press one of the menu buttons, the background image will change to this button specified image.But all that in an animation of fade in and out.My problem that i have everything but i cant know which image was before it changes to the buttons specified one. View 1 RepliesI have applied sound to my website in flash. I have different pages designed in different scenes. And sound control is present on each and every scene. I browsed through the net and found a tutorial which showed how to play background sound and keep it continuos throughout the navigation via different scenes. Inicially i had a problem where the sound restarted when i went to a new scene but now that problem is solved . My current problem is, when my site loads the music starts to play which is fine. Then when i press on the sound button to stop it . The action is to Start Sound and when i press it again It stops. But When i stop it and go to any other button and navigate to some other scene , the sound restarts.The sound sequence needs to be Stop on the first click and Play on the second.But i also want the sound to autostart when site loads. And i because i have different scenes i have applies a complicated action scrip from a tutorial.which goes as follows:-On the first frame of sound layer i have this action script --->

The background music is set as per TEMPLATE that I got. I would like to add a quicktime movie to the website, under the page titled "TRAILER" - and have tried to do so myself by adding the QUICKTIME to the project through another SWF that I got elsewhere (a different 'template' so to speak).

I'd like to be able to stop the background music when the viewer visits the TRAILER page of the site, as that is when the trailer starts to play. The music can stop abruptly, that is fine.
I'd like for the music to continue to play (either from the start, or where it was stopped) when any other pages are visited after watching of the trailer.
Working on a 'video heavy' Flash site that has an intro video. While the intro video is playing, assets(images,flv files) should be loaded in the background. The problem is that, while the assets are loading, the intro video play gets jittery. What can I do to make the video playing smoothly while still loading assets? It might be the single threaded nature of actionscript, not sure. After using @Demian Brecht suggested method, I noticed that the culprit might be Memory allocation. As the FLVs load the memory usage goes up by ~266MB and while the videos are written to memory, the framerate drops to 1FPS.

For the current site I'm working on, I need to display an intro video while other ssets(mostly flv files)load in the background.The issue is the framerate drops from ~30 to about ~1 because of the loading. When the videos loadinto memory, it grows by about 266MB~ and until it's 'written' the framerate drops.Is there any workaround/solution that will allow me to play an intro video while the assets load intomemory ?

Problem is, I can't put buttons on it because the invisible button blockes them.Does anyone know an other solution of making my background image scroll like the example site?

View 2 RepliesI made a 'movie' in Premiere and exported as FLV., Its suppose to be a banner on the top of a web page. The site was made with Dreamweaver. When played locally, the banner does great. When I put it on the server, thats a different story. I can tell thats something is there because it loads the background color of the flash file but it doesn't play the FLV.

The Die Antwoord site does pretty much what I'm trying to accomplish. I'd also like to know how they can use such high resolution images. If I try to use a high res image, the file size is enormous.I also want to do is to be able to change the background image when a button is clicked. What is the best way to do that with large images? Otherwise it is working all good, but I'd like it to stay put at the start. Right now it immidiately starts scrolling to right unless I move the mouse on top to stop it. So ye, i need to have it sitting still and only scroll when the mouse is at the edges of the document.
