View 1 RepliesI swear that this was working earlier but i must have changed something because now it isnt. I have a few clips that im trying to have load in the background without actually being visible upon initial load. To accomplish this i was going with something like this on the first frame of the main clip:

I SWEAR this same code was working just fine about 30 mins ago and now ive been playing with some other stuff and its not working anymore- the illustration clip just loads right over top of the main clip, basically ignoring my call for it to be invisible.
Id like to create a logo for a flash movie using photoshop.
the problem is, even if i delete the background layer in ps, there is always a white background with the logo.

View 6 RepliesI've designed a Flash site in CS3 using Action Script 2.0 that has a main flash movie sorta floating in space over a gradient background. I want the gradient background to re-size with the browser, so I thought that the easiest way to do this would be to delete the gradient background in Flash and instead recreate the background in Dreamweaver using the repeat background option and then make the Flash movie's background transparent. (I hope I'm making some amount of sense here).
I've found a few tutorials on how to do this, but so far I just get a white background instead of transparent. I've tried choosing "Transparent - Windowless" under Window Mode on the HTML tab in Publish Settings. And I've tried selecting the movie from within DW and clicking the parameter button and adding a "wmode" parameter with "transparent" as its value.
I need to make the background image move opposite the cursor to make it seem like the camera is moving.[URL]

It keeps on going and going and going... how to make it stop or make it go into the background? used the code provided by the tutorial. I browsed through the net and found a tutorial which showed how to play background sound and keep it continuos throughout the navigation via different scenes. Inicially i had a problem where the sound restarted when i went to a new scene but now that problem is solved . My current problem is, when my site loads the music starts to play which is fine. Then when i press on the sound button to stop it . The action is to Start Sound and when i press it again It stops. But When i stop it and go to any other button and navigate to some other scene , the sound restarts.The sound sequence needs to be Stop on the first click and Play on the second.But i also want the sound to autostart when site loads. The background music is set as per TEMPLATE that I got. I would like to add a quicktime movie to the website, under the page titled "TRAILER" - and have tried to do so myself by adding the QUICKTIME to the project through another SWF that I got elsewhere (a different 'template' so to speak).

I'd like to be able to stop the background music when the viewer visits the TRAILER page of the site, as that is when the trailer starts to play. The music can stop abruptly, that is fine.
I'd like for the music to continue to play (either from the start, or where it was stopped) when any other pages are visited after watching of the trailer.
Working on a 'video heavy' Flash site that has an intro video. While the intro video is playing, assets(images,flv files) should be loaded in the background. The problem is that, while the assets are loading, the intro video play gets jittery. What can I do to make the video playing smoothly while still loading assets? It might be the single threaded nature of actionscript, not sure. After using @Demian Brecht suggested method, I noticed that the culprit might be Memory allocation. As the FLVs load the memory usage goes up by ~266MB and while the videos are written to memory, the framerate drops to 1FPS.

For the current site I'm working on, I need to display an intro video while other ssets(mostly flv files)load in the background.The issue is the framerate drops from ~30 to about ~1 because of the loading. When the videos loadinto memory, it grows by about 266MB~ and until it's 'written' the framerate drops.Is there any workaround/solution that will allow me to play an intro video while the assets load intomemory ?
View 3 RepliesI made a 'movie' in Premiere and exported as FLV., Its suppose to be a banner on the top of a web page. The site was made with Dreamweaver. When played locally, the banner does great. When I put it on the server, thats a different story. I can tell thats something is there because it loads the background color of the flash file but it doesn't play the FLV.

A friend and I are working on a Flash game. He is programming it and needs the different character animations in SWF form. The problem is when he places them in-game, they are surrounded by the white block that was behind the character animation.
How do you make the background of the SWF/flash file transparent so they white block will no longer be visible. I know how to do it in HTML for the web, but this must be different.
In Flash MX, is there a way to make the background transparent? So once I have exported the .swf document into Dreamweaver I can place it on the background, blend in with it and only show the animation parts..

I am having a problem synchronizing the background change with the county zoom.referably, I would like the background to zoom out with the counties as they zoom, but having the background fade to white would work just as well. When the index page loads i need one bg.swf to load dynamically, but when the user clicks another background button, a new background will replace the default bg.swf that loaded automatically when the page opened. I understand to load the new bg's into an empty clip. I just need to know how to automatically load a .swf once the page opens. Pretty basic,
View 1 Repliesi have multiple SWFs loading on multiple button clicks. so by default i have one.swf loaded on the screen. now when button two is clicked i load two.swf replacing one.swf. similarly when button three is clicked i load three.swf.
is there anyway i can preload two.swf, three.swf and other swf files in the background so that when user clicks on the button to view these, the swf is already loaded and takes no time to appear.

The bold lines handling the background.The result is that if i add a comment to the bold lines so that it doesn't run those lines, the script load the background and put it on the stage. but if i don't comment this lines so that the script run those lines the result is that it does not load the background and i don't see it.
