ActionScript 3.0 :: Load External Swf In Background?
Aug 29, 2010
I have an swf which I am loading externally using
ActionScript Code:
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("as3_fullScreen_bg.swf");
var loader:Loader = new Loader()
loader.load(request);
addChild(loader);
I want this to be in the background as its an image slideshow but when i preview my site it displays above my navigation etc. How do make it load in the background i.e behind what I already have?
I need to preload an external swf in my file - but I don't want a preloader bar or count or anything - I simply want it to perform in the background - and if done proceed to a certain frame. I've been googling preloaders for a bit now and they all have the bars and percentage count - and I couldn't seem to customize it.
So I have a video that is actually the background of the website. The video is resizing proportionally when user resizes the browser. The AS3 code is written on base of FLV component. The sound is also external mp3 imported with AS3 code. These are the facts and it works.Now the problem: The preloader calculates only the bytes of the movie including mp3, but doesn't calculate the bytes of external FLV, which makes the the movie and the mp3 play before the FLV video starts playing. It makes a gap and it don't look good at all.
I have a red 50*50 SYMBOL cube called "RedCube" and i would like to load a swf into it called "A.swf" whilst still retaining the shape of the red cube.I dont want the newly loaded .swf to replace the cube but to appear as a background inside it.
I am a quite new to Flash but I would like to ask you this question for sort of "global understanding" Lets say I've got main MC1 and into that loads MC2. There is also an MC3 which I would like to start downloading (sort of: in the background) while the MC1 is being watched by a viewer.
I'm having a slight problem with loading backgrounds dynamically. When the index page loads i need one bg.swf to load dynamically, but when the user clicks another background button, a new background will replace the default bg.swf that loaded automatically when the page opened. I understand to load the new bg's into an empty clip. I just need to know how to automatically load a .swf once the page opens. Pretty basic,
i have multiple SWFs loading on multiple button clicks. so by default i have one.swf loaded on the screen. now when button two is clicked i load two.swf replacing one.swf. similarly when button three is clicked i load three.swf.
is there anyway i can preload two.swf, three.swf and other swf files in the background so that when user clicks on the button to view these, the swf is already loaded and takes no time to appear.
i'm loading a background from xml and i adapt it propotionally to the screen.This is my class for handling all the things:
Code: package { import flash.text.*;[code].....
The bold lines handling the background.The result is that if i add a comment to the bold lines so that it doesn't run those lines, the script load the background and put it on the stage. but if i don't comment this lines so that the script run those lines the result is that it does not load the background and i don't see it.

As you can see, I have an external swf file that loads into a container clip. When a user clicks on the next project button, or any other category, another image gallery starts loading. My question is, is there anyway to load the other galleries in the background while users browse through the loaded ones?

My question is, is there anyway to load the other galleries in the background while users browse through the loaded ones? Is having an off-stage invisible movieclip with an loadMovie function the best way to do this, or is there a better method?
Just to get some professional opinions, is it possible to load in an external SWF and set that SWF's background to transparent?
This question has nothing to do with embedding the SWF in an HTML page. I already know that setting the WMODE to transparent will create a SWF with a transparent background in a browser.
I have a main fla file, that preloads and loads three external SWF's just perfectly. The three SWF's are simple flip book animations. This is the site: [URL]. This is the only actionscript in the main.fla file.
The problem is, that the first movie is really jumpy, the second is a little better and the third is the best. There's three buttons designated to each movie. My question is, why are the movies jumpy? I'm assuming it's because when one is visible, the other two in the background are still running and taking up the speed. How can I make the background SWF's go into a stop state, or whatever you might call it.
Is there a way to tell flash to preload a number of swfs in the background (meaning no visual cue to the end user that this is happening), while the current movie is playing?The idea is when the user clicks on a button to move to another area, that swf has already been preloaded in to memory or cache and loads instantly.
I have a gallery with a Next/Previous button and individual frames that contain a "loadMovie" function. When the user clicks next or previous the movie jumps to a new frame and loads an external swf/w a preloader into a container. The way I have it , the movie has to load each swf one at a time. Is there a way to have the movie loading the other swfs in the background, so the user doesnt have to ait for each swf to load?
I have a main fla file which loads external swf files.I haven't used a movieclip container which holds the external swf files, so if a loaded swf's stage is bigger than the area I want it to be displayed it overrides it.Is it possible to set the boundaries of the loader?Also, is it possible to keep the external swf's stage color?

Structure: There is 1 main file that loads external SWF files depending on what is clicked on.One of the external SWF files loads its text from external text files. This works fine when viewing the SWF applet on its own. But when viewing as a whole site, the text doesnt appear. Very annoying.I made that particular SWF on my mums computer running Flash MX 2004The flash file itself uses the Scrollbar component from MX.Could someone tell me why the text doesnt load in this scenario? It runs fine on its own, just not as an external SWF.
I am currently working on a flash site that loads external .swf files. Is there a way to make these separate swfs transparent by adding code to the .html as done in many other similiar circumstances with one swf? Or is there any kind of code I can add with an as file or inside a frame in flash?
Ok, so I've tried a lot of different ways of loading background music in Flash, and now I'm wondering what the most efficient way of doing it really is.
I have my DocumentClass, and I have a MusicPlayer class. The MusicPlayer class controls the volume and mute function, as well as holding all the visible elements of the music player.
Where should I load the music initially? From the DocumentClass at the startup? Or in the MusicPlayer after the site has initially loaded? I want the music to start playing as soon as the initial loading process has finished.
I have created a website with different sections (contact, portfolio ...) -> all sections have videos in the background.Each section is a different swf with separate buttons so:I use the "loadMovie" to connect them and "video pause" to stop the videos they contain. The website works, but when you go to another section (clicking on another navigation button), the previous one keeps sounding in the background. HERE IS THE CODE:ActionScript Code:/* Click to Load/Unload SWF or Image from a URL.Clicking on the symbol instance loads and displays the specified SWF or image URL. Clicking on the symbol instance a second time unloads the SWF or image.
im using Flash pro 2004 and would like to make a mc to download on the background while the movie is playing, and when the movie gets to frame 200 to play thge loaded mc.
The website I'm working on is a Flash swf hovering at about 2 megs, and although on a broadband connection, it still takes a few long seconds - Is there any actionscript that can tell my preloader to display my homepage immediatley after the homepage is loaded, while the rest of my site loads in the background?

I am trying to get a nav button in one movie (main_nav.swf) to target a my main movie (index.swf) and load a sub nav movie (metals_subnav_infinite.swf) into it. The sub nav movie will do a similar task - loading a portfolio swf into main movie (index.swf). Here is the file breakdown of my working files:index.swf - main final movie which loads "main_nav_infinite3.swf" on startmain_nav_infinite3.swf - loads main nav "main_nav.swf" and scrolls it infinitely (infinite menu)main_nav.swf - main nav with buttons that trigger sub nav "metals_subnav_infinite.swf" to load into index.swfmetals_subnav_infinite.swf - loads sub nav "metals_subnav.swf" and scrolls it infinitelymetals_subnav.swf - sub nav with buttons that trigger "folio.swf" (have not created this file yet!) to load into "index.swf"The script I was focusing on is in main_nav.fla and it is:
I want to load an external swf to the background and then have it resized proportionally according to the browser window so it can fill up the whole screen.
