ActionScript 3.0 :: Script Does Not Load The Background?

i'm loading a background from xml and i adapt it propotionally to the screen.This is my class for handling all the things:

The bold lines handling the background.The result is that if i add a comment to the bold lines so that it doesn't run those lines, the script load the background and put it on the stage. but if i don't comment this lines so that the script run those lines the result is that it does not load the background and i don't see it.

I have an swf which I am loading externally using

I want this to be in the background as its an image slideshow but when i preview my site it displays above my navigation etc. How do make it load in the background i.e behind what I already have?

I am a quite new to Flash but I would like to ask you this question for sort of "global understanding" Lets say I've got main MC1 and into that loads MC2. There is also an MC3 which I would like to start downloading (sort of: in the background) while the MC1 is being watched by a viewer.

When the index page loads i need one bg.swf to load dynamically, but when the user clicks another background button, a new background will replace the default bg.swf that loaded automatically when the page opened. I understand to load the new bg's into an empty clip. I just need to know how to automatically load a .swf once the page opens. Pretty basic,

i have multiple SWFs loading on multiple button clicks. so by default i have one.swf loaded on the screen. now when button two is clicked i load two.swf replacing one.swf. similarly when button three is clicked i load three.swf.
is there anyway i can preload two.swf, three.swf and other swf files in the background so that when user clicks on the button to view these, the swf is already loaded and takes no time to appear.

I am currently working on a flash site that loads external .swf files. Is there a way to make these separate swfs transparent by adding code to the .html as done in many other similiar circumstances with one swf? Or is there any kind of code I can add with an as file or inside a frame in flash?

Ok, so I've tried a lot of different ways of loading background music in Flash, and now I'm wondering what the most efficient way of doing it really is.
I have my DocumentClass, and I have a MusicPlayer class. The MusicPlayer class controls the volume and mute function, as well as holding all the visible elements of the music player.
Where should I load the music initially? From the DocumentClass at the startup? Or in the MusicPlayer after the site has initially loaded? I want the music to start playing as soon as the initial loading process has finished.

I have created a website with different sections (contact, portfolio ...) -> all sections have videos in the background.Each section is a different swf with separate buttons so:I use the "loadMovie" to connect them and "video pause" to stop the videos they contain. The website works, but when you go to another section (clicking on another navigation button), the previous one keeps sounding in the background. im trying to load a swf in the center of a full swf background and cannot get it to work.
i got the resize function to work properly, but when it first loads it is not centered properly
for some reason it recognizes the resize code by not the initial code
here is the code im using (note: im using the full background code from noponies):

The website I'm working on is a Flash swf hovering at about 2 megs, and although on a broadband connection, it still takes a few long seconds - Is there any actionscript that can tell my preloader to display my homepage immediatley after the homepage is loaded, while the rest of my site loads in the background?

I need the first page to load blank (just a transparent background would do) but at the moment it's loading the first page of text. I want the text to appear when I hit the home button (named: mc.menuBtn1_btn). I'm having a little problem with the following code. I want the buttons to slide in on the x from left to right and then settle in position, with no text on screen. Then, when I hit the home button, the home page appears, followed by all the other buttons in the menu I decide to click.

I've got some lovely code from another flash forum which loads a scalable fullscreen image background behind a fixed size flash movie, but have a problem:The jpg background image loads before the flash movie, and I'd like to delay the jpg appearing by, say, three seconds.I've tried everything I can in the code, but don't know enough about actionscript to make it work.

I have multiple movies that I loaded one at a time depending on which option is selected. I would like to load movies in the background while they are browsing one selection. Is it possible to load a movie without loading into target? So that when they select a different option it will have already been loaded in the background and would just have to be displayed in the container.

I swear that this was working earlier but i must have changed something because now it isnt. I have a few clips that im trying to have load in the background without actually being visible upon initial load. To accomplish this i was going with something like this on the first frame of the main clip:
loadMovieNum("dl_illustration.swf",4);_level4._visible = false;
I SWEAR this same code was working just fine about 30 mins ago and now ive been playing with some other stuff and its not working anymore- the illustration clip just loads right over top of the main clip, basically ignoring my call for it to be invisible.

I'm making a flash movie and I'd like to load a background image into my SWF and paint it to the stage using the Bitmap and BitmapData classes. Am I approaching this properly? What code gets the image from the Loader to the BitmapData? Also, how do I get the image to show in the background? I've never understood the BitmapData/Bitmap metaphor, explanations, code samples and tutorial links.

Its meant to be a background preloader, so it loads stuff in, but if the user selects something it stops, loads the choice item and removes it from the "to be loaded"...loadArray. so when it restarts it knows not to load it again
Setback/feature 1: if a user choices to select an item, it will continue to load whatever is loading and start to load the item they want.
Setback/feature 2: the preloader will not restart until the user calls userCont().... should I have a timer so after awhile it kicks back in?
Error: just realised I have to stop it when it gets the end of the list.

I've designed a Flash site in CS3 using Action Script 2.0 that has a main flash movie sorta floating in space over a gradient background. I want the gradient background to re-size with the browser, so I thought that the easiest way to do this would be to delete the gradient background in Flash and instead recreate the background in Dreamweaver using the repeat background option and then make the Flash movie's background transparent. (I hope I'm making some amount of sense here).
I've found a few tutorials on how to do this, but so far I just get a white background instead of transparent. I've tried choosing "Transparent - Windowless" under Window Mode on the HTML tab in Publish Settings. And I've tried selecting the movie from within DW and clicking the parameter button and adding a "wmode" parameter with "transparent" as its value.

trying to print a movieclip with a white backgroundwhile keeping the stage background black.The movieclip,printResults_mc has a white rectangle in the bottom layer, 850pixels x 1100 pixels. The following function scales printResults_mcto the printers printable area but because isimpossible to predict the aspect ratio of the printable area someblack background always leaks out.
