I am using ExtrernalInterface.call(javascript_function, args); to call javascript functions from Flex. But this fails in case of browsers that have javascript disabled. Is there any other way to call javascript functions from flex?

Does anyone know how to call upon Javascript functions from Flash using FS comand, here's an example of it in action though I'm not looking to do anything quite as elaborate, I simply want to instruct the browser window that's holding the flash file to close at a predetermined point on the timeline.

My flex project uses FA-Bridge, and apparently in Safari browser I cannot call any of my public AS functions that have arguments passed in. For example I can call this AS function from javascript:

In the above call safari throws an error # 1063, (i.e. Argument count mismatch) in the safari javascript console, and points to line 561 in FaBridge.js. It thinks I didn't pass in the requied parameters. Now the above issue exists only on Safari. Both of the above approaches work on IE, Firefox and Chrome browsers. Note: I am NOT using swfObject for embedding my swf.
I need to be able to communicate between two applications that reside on the same machine. One is using Flex and the other is in C++. I would like to be able to call functions and pass arguments to each other. What is the best way to communicate between them?

in my application, I did some trace statements of a file For example if(oldFile.parent.toString()!=file.parent.toString()) There are some other file print statements , and it seems to encounter this error stated below. But the error does not appear every time. For example i ran my application for 20 times, it will encounter this error once. I read that it could be done by passing the javascript code to the parent html document , using externalinterface.call function. Then I assume it will be faster if I can declare functions in the javascript code in the HTML document in the first use of externalinterface.call funtion ; if flash code calls the javascript code repeatedly. So let me ask you how to do that. For details , any javascript to be loaded is unknown in design time and I can not prepare a javascript file to be loaded.
I'm trying to use ExternalInterface.Call to call a JavaScript function to launch a lightbox window. So far I have this:

I get the alert but I can't get the lightbox window to display. When my as code makes the ExternalInterface call I get what looks like a page refresh and a blank browser window.
I have a function defined in JavaScript like so:

JS-to-AS3 callbacks work in kinda asynchronous way right? So for example if I ask SWF to download some file, which may take some time (depending on the size of that file), and while it downloads it, ask it to do some other operation (suppose SWF has several callbacks for various purposes), what happens in this case? Does SWF continue to download file and handle my second request in a different thread maybe, or it crashes, or throws some error? I know this is a good case for some testing, but I wonder if anyone has already done that, or maybe there is public info on the case that I cannot find?

I am working with an older (CS3) file in CS4. I have some simple javascript on an actions frame on the site. Example:

For some reason this code is being disabled when I publish. When I click on it in preview, it brings up a browser window. But when I publish it, on my computer that is not connected to the internet, it says something like "Adobe flash player has stopped..." and when I test it on the computer which is connected to the internet, it doesn't do anything at all. Only one Javascript pop up works - it has slightly different code and is in a different place. I tried applying the code to these other buttons but no luck.
