Jun 18, 2009I can only do so much with flash. I am having issues with linking to a video. Here is my question: please refer to [URL] and click on the video link. I have 3 videos that I want people to view when they click on the links:
- SI TU T'EN VAS (2001)
- GWADA (2004)
- JODIA (2008)
I need the links to be able to open a popup window in flash with 320X240 in size.
1- I imported each video in flash (separatly) using the 30rates/frames, progressive dowload from webserver. (the usual).
2- I allready uploaded the videos (.swf and .flv) on the server (godaddy.com)
3- In my main file, I created a button for each one of the links above using the invisible button with their own instances. they are each on a different layer.
Javascript Popup Window Buggy
Mar 2, 2011I am trying to open a new browser window popup from Flash. I am using:

What is supposed to happen is that the popup should open in a new smaller window whilst the original window keeps displaying the flash file. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Is there a better way to go about this? NOTE: I know that you can call JavaScript functions and house your js in the HTML file, but I cannot edit the HTML file since it is a page from a remote site.

CS3 Play An .flv File In A Popup Window?
Jul 19, 2009I have a flash website, and I want to put in a button that when onrelease is triggered will popup a window that I can play another movie in, I have the movie both as an .flv file and I have also converted it to a .swf movie as a seperate little movie, I could also convert it to another format if its easier, The movie size is only 320x240 in dimension.

Jun 9, 2011I've got a Flash video that takes a very long time (30 seconds+) to load, which is obviously frustrating for users. I'm using the JWPlayer to embed the video.Flash experts (which is not me), what am I doing wrong? Or is the video file too big/server too slow? I've tried embedding in various ways (direct embed, swfobject) without change.I notice it does sometimes play right away on load, but I'm not sure if this is because at that time, the Flash video is cached in my browser.

Nov 30, 2011I created a Flash application that reads POST data from a form. A user clicks the button, and the data gets posted to the flash app in a new window (_blank). Now takes the data and then spins a wheel to give users a prize. If they don't win a message pops up letting them know they didn't win. If they don't win, clicking the OK button needs to close the browser window.
I've tried a number of solutions and it seems that the only way to get this done is to launch the window with javascript and then use ExternalInterface.call('window.close'); to close the window from within the Flash actionscript (3) because otherwise the window won't close (I've tried just using window.close and window.close() with no luck)
I understand how to launch a new window with javascript, but I don't know how to simultaneously launch and POST data to that window (the Flash application has to have the POST data. Is this the best solution? Is there a way to close a browser window easier than what I'm describing?[URL]

Aug 3, 2010I have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.

But I don't think that has anything to do with the problem. I designed a flash animation for my wife's website back in 2004 and it has always worked perfectly up until installing the most recent Flash Player 10.0.32.18 just a few days ago. Here's the problem:On my wife's website, we have a special link called "view presentation". You click on that link and a smaller, separate window pops up.
