View 1 RepliesI have a motion tween that I have move forward along a path, is there any way I can make the motion tween then move backward along the same path and then forward again.... like a loop?
View 2 RepliesI googled "as3 audio slow motion fast forward rewind" and found only this of relevance: playing slow motion, fast forward , rewind in a video player in flash video player, which briefly talks about how to fast forward and rewind a video as well as two options for doing slow motion on video. I only need audio, though. I think I might be able to do fast forward and rewind by stopping the SoundChannel and then playing the sound at a different position using addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, ~), but I'm completely lost on how to apply the advice regarding slow motion. I use Flash CS5.5 and all the sounds I want to operate on are already in the library.
View 1 RepliesProblem is that my rewind and fast forward buttons do not work properly in the sense that they start to mess up when you fast forward or rewind past the current scene. It seems to just skip through the whole movie and totally mess up the animation.the code for the controls is on a single layer and reads as the following:
stop();
play_btn.onRelease = function (){
play();

If I perform a motion tween along a curved path, Flash CS4 does not allow to change the curves to "corner point" or "linear" in the motion editor. URL...
View 2 RepliesI have been searching far and wide for a solution on how to offer slow motion and fast motion options for users that upload video to my webstie. There is an implementation on Google Video that has exactly what I am looking for: the option to speed up or slow down the video and continue to play the audio. The screenshot is below. I know that Flowplayer has an option to slow down or speed up video when implemented with Wowza server. However, when using that approach, there is no sound.
I have also seen the option from Enounce called MySpeed that allows video to be slowed or quickened, but this requires a browser plugin which is too much of a barrier for our users. How does Google do it? How can you add an option to a flash player to slow down or speed up video?Here is a screen shot. You can see the option to change the speed of the video to 1.5x. It also has options to go to 0.5x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, 2.0x, 2.5x, and 3.0x.
I would like to create a polygon that changes its shape (circle, trapezium, square, rectangle, triangle) based on specific buttons that the user clicks? An existing shape has to be able to morph into all the others. For instance, the trapezium has to morph to a square, circle, rectangle or triangle.
If I were to create each transition manually, I would end up with 5x4=20 scenes. Is there a way that I can just assign each shape to its own frame, and deploy actionscript to set in motion the transitions from one frame to the 4 other possible frames? I am very grateful to anyone to just point me in the right direction,
How do I add motion blur to a motion tween?
View 2 Repliesim writing AS3 under linux and as such do not have access to ANY of the fl.* packages, including tweens, motions, special animations and components. I can only use Math.* and XY Grid Coordinates to calculate motion manually.
I can make movement of sprites fairly easily on a coordinate system, but this restricts how the path can go. Usualy only an up,down,left,right movements for the simplest math. I suppose this could be expanded to move in more varied directions but its not quite what im looking for.
I would like to be able to draw an invisible line that a shape can follow. Then it can have curves or bends in it without problem. I want to then start the sprite at the 1st pixel of the line and set its next coorinate based on where the line is at, but at 10px down it (and so on) till it reaches the end of the line. Is it possible because I cant think of a way? Are there any other good PureAs3 motion tutorials around?
I'm getting the following error: Motion tweening will not occur on layers with ungrouped shapes or on layers with more than one group or symbol. I don't have any ungrouped shapes (it's all text), each layer has 5 instances of only one symbol (keyframes), no objects are grouped and text is all static text.
When watching the animation, the first word (web) looks fine, on the second word (design) the tween fails on the last couple of frames of that clip (the blur filter disappears), the third word (and) is OK, and on the forth word (development) the blur filter is not applied to the last 16 frames of that clip.I broke each animation into its own MC thinking that was causing the issue, but that didn't fix anything.
I have been working on a tutorial in Flash on the topic of Flash () for two days, and I am just finishing up on a template. I have fixed five bugs, but I cannot think of how to fix this last one. I'd rather actually fix the problem this time, instead of improvising . So, here is what is going on:
I have this thing at the end where you have to enter in the code that I taught the viewer to proceed, then hit the continue button to finish the tutorial. But for some reason, whenever I try to go back with the back arrow, it does, but then I can't go forward with the forward arrow until I reach the first frame that contains actual tutorial ("page" 2). Then it works again. It seems really random, but there is [obviously] a good explanation for it. I thought it might have something to do with the fact that all of the arrows up to the "test" part, excluding the back arrow there, have the exact same instance name. However, "page" 2 is the 2nd time it is used (introduction, then the "page" 2, then 3, 4, 5, and 6, then the test part thing), so it makes less sense that it would work the 2nd time, but not the third, fourth, fifth, or sixth. And I know there's nothing wrong with the code itself:

Heres the code for my car to accelerate but how do I make one for reverse when the down key is pressed? I've tried all sorts but it is just not working properly.
ActionScript Code:
//When up key is pressed...
if (keyUpPressed) {
car.y -= ((90-carRotation)/90)*increment;
if (((car.rotation > 90)&&(car.rotation < 180))||((car.rotation < -90)&&(car.rotation > -180))) {
car.x += posNeg * (((((1-(carRotation/360))*360)-180)/90)*increment);

i created a movie in that i placed 4 slides in a layer1 in frame 5,25,45,65,85.i had created a movieclip a rectangle in shape whish is static in a layer2 on rollover the movieclip rectangle i placed 2 buttons one is "previous" button and another is "forward" button.on running this i want the button operations like the following1. on clicking the "forward" button the the movie have to go to the slide 25.2. from there if we click the "forward" button it should go to 45and so on.like this 1. on clicking the "previous" button from the frame 45 it should go to the 25 frame of the movie and so on.
every thing is working but what the code i write in the button which is in the (rectangle shape)movie has taking the only one action. ie., when i write on(release){_root.gotoandplay("25")}it is globel to all position on the button.so only this action can only is taking place.so i want the action script to be global and as well as my above constrains should also satisfied.
I am building a video player and would like to have a forward and rewind button. I was looking at tutorials and it seems like none of them have this. Is there a reason for this?
View 5 RepliesI am doing a slideshow in Flash. With AS 2, I would create frame labels for each slide with a stop action on each one in the timeline and a button underneath the background with the following script:
on (keyPress "<Right>") {
gotoAndPlay("2");
}
The keyboard right arrow (and left arrow) would move the slideshow forward and backward. I had another button for backward.I'm doing one in AS 3 now (dictated to me) and this script isn't working.
Code:
private function fileRef_select(evt:Event):void{
try {message.text =
"size (bytes): " + fileRef.size;

im using flash CS3 with actionscript 2.0. what i want to create is a column for an online magazine, the column will display
a list of content, this list will be longer than it appears and have a "next" and "prev" buttons located at the bottom. i can set it up so than when next is clicked the content shifts and displays more, the problem is, what do i do about the "prev" button? i cant make the timeline play in reverse can i?
I beleive there's an Action Script or possibly an attached Javascript (maybe) that would allow an FLV video to 1st stream forward and then play backwards and repeat this proccess over and over to simulate an endless trend. The perfect example can be simply viewed here url...Their video is a short 13 sec clip of the pup licking the screen, but they managed to reverse it when it reaches the end.
View 3 RepliesI am trying to create a small movie. Now I want to create an effect that once the mouse is in the right half of the movie - then movie should play forward. When the cursor moves to the left half of the movie then movie should play backwards. I have tried following some examples from online but I am kinda lost
This is what I have done so far:
- Create the animation named it "mc" of type Movie Clip
- Put it in the "main scene"
- The (first) keyframe at "main scene" has action "stop();"
- <<now i am lost >>
Note: Eventually the right and left part of the movie will link to different webpage.

Above is the webstie in question. When you hit the Benefit button for example it takes you to a url /benefits.html/.
When I originally created the flash project I accidentally wrote in the url with the finishing slash. Now that I have gone back and removed the slash from my project, saved and uploaded .swf to my web, the project still redirects to benefits.html/
I have simple flash CS4 file (AS3) with a video playback component in a movie clip called "video". The only other thing in this flash movie is a script to load another SWF file as soon as the video is done playing....If I use stop() on the frame with the video - it will play - but then the playhead will not move forward to the next frame which has the next script and if I leave the stop() off - it plays only a a few frames of the video and moves on to the next frame and executes the script that loads the swf file.
Everything I've read requires a button event - and I don't need a button. I just need the video to play - then the next script to execute.Here are the only scripts in the flash movie:
***************************** // in the frame containing video component
stop()
*********************************** // in the next frame after video component.
stop();

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on playing FLV video on a website. I'm currently using JW player and it works great. The only problem is people can't scrub forward past what is cached. For instance, I want to click on the video and immediately click half way through it to start playing in the middle of the video. Can this be done with JW player, or do you suggest another FLV player?
View 1 RepliesI want it to move forward when a sound finishes playing. I have a listener that listens for the sound to finish, but it doesn't work.
ActionScript Code:
stage.removeEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, moveLauren);
stage.removeEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_UP, stopLauren);
stage.removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, lockerActions);

What I need its a way to control my timeline forward and rewind. To make it easy to explain I will make a example: Imagine that you have a movie (cars crossing a street - with trucks and buses too). Sometimes there is just cars on the street, sometimes just trucks. I should paste this movie into my timeline(like image sequence), in the background of my application. In other layer will be informations, in this example, about trucks and cars. Till this point ok. But I need to make the movie go to the frame that I choose to be the image of the movie that only have cars.
Okay ... this is in frame 15 of the movie. Then I click a button and go to show trucks info. I click and go to frame 30... at this point ok too. But now I click again to see about cars. Its in frame 15 and I don't want to "JUMP" (like gotoandstop)... I want the movie rewinds (in the speed that it plays) till I get frame 15. How do I control the timeline like this? (There will be at least 6 points in this movie that i want to stop by. And this movie begins stopped.)
I would like to let a MovieClip to move from lets say _x 200 to _x 800. When the mc reach the _x 800 it should return to _ 200 and visa versa. I like to do this with AS instead of with motion tween.
View 2 RepliesI have an animation of a rotating 3d object, and I'm playing it backward and forward through simple nextFrame() and prevFrame() actions inside an onEnterFrame event.Everything seems to work, the only technical problem is that if I go backward, the animation is not as smooth as if I went forward. I understand that a prevFrame action is 'less natural' than a nextFrame.. but does anyone know how I could fix it?
View 3 RepliesIn my game there are several rounds. Each round has a time limit. What i'd like to do is inflict a time penalty on the user when he makes the wrong action by jumping the timer ahead.I was wondering how other people might go about solving this problem. I can't seem to get a timer to tell me how much time has passed, how much time remains, or tell it to jump forward or backward.
View 2 RepliesAnyone have any clue how to make a Flash movie like this one? [URL] I could script a back button to go to a previous frame but how do I get that smooth looping effect?
View 1 RepliesI need to know how to use the Back/Foward buttons with IE. I have a movie that has several frames. Each frame is a section of the page.If you go to a different section of the page, I want to be able to use the back button to go back to the previous section you were at.
