...to print a chart displayed in the user's browser as part of a full-screen Flash application. This works fine if the browser window is larger than the available print job page size. However when the browser window is smaller, the print out is clipped. How do i resolve this? Is there an object I can add my Sprite to that will not get clipped by the bounds of the browser window?
I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out why my preloader.swf isn't scaling right as my site loads. The way my preloader works is that I load in my site code and stage elements first ( called Main.swf ). Then, when that is loaded, I preload the first large background image for my site with a second preloader bar. For the first preloader bar ( loading Main.swf ), the graphics for the preloader are all scaled up by about 25% then it jumps to normal size when the loading of the first background image starts.
Anyway, I have a 2037px wide flash movie that I purposely made that wide so that it would take up just about any screen.
What I'm trying to do is simply center it and basically hide the overflow on smaller screens when the movie appears on the end user's monitor. I can't get it to center, however, as it always just wants to align to the left. I don't want to use the 100% feature because that distorts the movie.
I've tried using the "overflow: hidden; text-align: center;" CSS feature, to no avail. Is there a way in CSS to make this work? Do I need to use javascript or something? If so, which script do I use?
I have a site build with several swf sections (Home,About,etc...) loaded via XML. The thing is that one of the sections needs to be larger than the browser windows height, actually a lot larger.
So i need to find a way so that the browser's scroll bar will appear only for that specific section...
Right now it works if i change the dimensions of the main movie container and edit the index.html: overflow:auto;
But what kind of code should i use to let the browser's scroll bar appears if a movie that is loaded via XML is larger than height of the browser...
I followed Senocular's XML portfolio tutorial and everything is working fine, except I want for each thumbnail when you click, for it to open the larger pic in a javascript window. I got it working, almost, the strange thing it's opening the same large pic no matter which thumb I click on. It seems to be loading the same javascript window also, with the adress being the html file where the swf file is. The code in the html file is this:
i have a flash site that links to PDF's with the navigateToURL function which works etc But now i would like Link to rather open up a download window instead of just a new browser window?
i've made a flash movie in res 600 * 300, now i want to keep this res don't want the user to be able to expand the browser window or change the res or anything how do i do this?
Trying to detect a browser close event and send some data to the database when the user closes the browser window...but can't seem to get it to work.[code]
I have looked around for this and haven't found a way that clearly explains how to do this. More often than not the button will close the browser window in one but not another browser.
Is the a simple way of closing a browser window in all types of browser ( Or mainly Firefox, IE and safari on both Mac and PC ) with actionscript?

There is a wide known issue with printing of Flash content in Firefox and Chrome browsers.So,one solution was created by "AnyCharts".But it seems not to work.I also tried to implement the latest version of the component that is now hosted and Google Code.I did exactly as the manual prescribes but it still doesn't work.AnyChart guys say on their blog page that something should be done with CSS as well ,but as you can see from the manual at Flash-Print-Fix home page ,there is no mention about CSS setup. My code works like this:
I want to put a movieclip with tools at the bottom of the window in the center with tools icons, it should have fixed posiiton so that user can scroll the main window having it always on prompt. I think I need the browser window size properties to do somenthing as this. Is there a way to get them?
I am trying to create a print button on the last frame that will allow the user to print just that frame. I've tried using the printjob object, but all that I can get to happen is print a blank sheet of paper. Here is the code that I have so far:
function printScore(event:MouseEvent):void { var printJob:PrintJob = new PrintJob();
i want to simply print 2 movieClips when i press a Print button. so i have the "_root.container_mc" and "_root.logo_mc"... paste the simplest code for printing a "landscape" page with these 2?
I am trying to make a print button that will print the contents of a mc...this mc basically holds a dynamically drawn floorplan which can be zoomed and panned...I want to be able to print the contents of the mc, and only what is viewable in the mc at the time of the print...so if you are zoomed in, all that prints are the actual objects visibly seen in the mc...I think it may be with the print command using bmovie but I have no idea how to assign a #b lable to the frame.
[Code]... and go to the print section and then check out the print pieces. for some reason my resizing gallery movie is doing some weird stuff and i cant figure out how to fix it. my actionscript goes like this :
<script>window.resizeTo(350, 500);</script> that is what I did it works but is there anyway I can get rid of the menu bars and scroll for the windowresize?
I'm currently working with a flash movie that opens up an IE browser to an external link.Since I'm working with a presentation that plays automatically after a few seconds and keeps loading new IE browsers with different links, I was wondering if there was a way with AS2, i can have flash close the IE window it opened?
I have a flashmovie that measures 950x675 px. If the user have a smaller webbrowser window than my movie i want the movie to be fitted in the browser window. But if the browsers width and/or height measures more than my movie i don't want it to fit (zoom), then the swf should only be centered.
I am not able to print more than 5 pages in one go. I want to print almost 12 pages in one print job. I am creating the movieclips of each page by adding the dynamic data in to it and store in an array. When all the movieclips created and stored in an array(pagesAry) then it call the following function to print those pages:
private function sendToPrinter():void { pj = new PrintJob(); try
[code]....
Getting error: Print job canceled as it took more than 15 seconds to complete.
I am building a portfolio site, and I want my content to occupy all the browser window.
Like this site: http://********theglass.com/ [URL]
I know GAIA have the ability to do this but I don't know how to use it, and the more I look to it, the more I think it will be overkill to use on my project.
I want my background to occupy 100% of the browser window and have the content to be centered.
Is there a much simpler way to do that without having to do it in a framework?
I have a problem and that is my swf will only play once in IE. When a user revisits the site from the same IE browser window or refreshes, nothing happens. If i open a new IE browser window, the swf plays and it plays from the IE cache as the preloader does not show again. This is happening in multiple versions of IE. I do not have this problem with Fire Fox, Chrome, or other non-IE browsers. Here is my preloader code:
loaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS ,updatePreloader); function updatePreloader(evtObj:ProgressEvent):void {[code]....
I am using swfobject when publishing. I do not think this is the problem as when i publish straight from flash without swfobject and try to play my swf in the same IE browser window, the same problem occurs.
