Python :: Which Langauge Boxee.tv IPTV Software Developed In

I want to know the programming language used by Boxee.tv guys to build their IPTV software. My company is building a IPTV software which will fetch channels and stream channels from the internet.
Boxee's desktop client does the same. Since we want to create a Similar UI, I would like to know what have they used to create such a UI.
Is it flash or AIR , I see some python DLLs when I inspected their folder inside program files.

I experience strange behavior of sockets in Python (3.2). Client connects to my application using Flash. Most of the time there is nothing unusual but sometimes python crashes in a way that should not have taken place - enter into infinite loops. I have created a flex application in the Python Gae sdk and I got the error 2048, so I put a crossdomain.xml under the static folder.
The crossdomain.xml is following:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd">
<cross-domain-policy> [code].....
However, I still got the error 2048. Therefore, I would like to know is anything I need to configure or miss in my case and how to fix the error.

If swf file is embedded in html it is easy to call ActionScript methods via ExternalInterface using JavaScript. Now I want to use the swf file outside of a browser and still be able to access its methods, but now I want to use Python to call ActionScript. Is it possible? There is so little information about it in the Internet. Probably I can use AMF (pyAmf) for this, can I?

I'm trying to find out if there is a way I could embed a Python back-end into an AIR application? I'm looking to employ an approach similar to the one outlined here to implement the business logic for my application, but additionally, I would like to provide the user with a single binary which they can load. I don't want the user to have to fire up a seperate server process to make this work.

I am just wondering that what are the core reasons behind using Flash Media server for implementing IPTV, wheras we have some efficient devices such as following digital tuner boxes http:[url]....We can get the MPEG-TS stream and send it to this box and it can play the TV for us. Is it not simple? I think that I misunderstanding some thing, why people use FMS for IPTV implementation.

With normal Flash SWF's I use URLRequest to communicate with external servers/sites to send/retreive data from a database - pretty standard stuff. But can iPhone apps published from the CS5 environment communicate with external servers/sites?I'm still organising my development license for the iphone, so want to check before I fork out the money for the registration.

I develop applications with Flash, AS 3.0 and PHP. I need to give the source code to my clients. But once I give them the source code they can also re-sell the applications to other people. So, I have deceided to use some code hiding process so that without my permission the application will not run in any server. In that case I am ready to keep informations in my server. Only my direct client will be able to run the file once they have registered their domain name and other info into my server.

I have developed an site in flash doesnt throw any error in Flash IDE debug mode, But when I launch this in web browser it throws error.
Disadvantage of showing error in browser window is that it wont show the line number of the error. Is there any otherway to get the line number of error, when running in the browser.

I am porting my flash games on android. I have ported 3 successfully. But the problem with all of them is they are giving very low frame rate near about 7-8. And I have observed 1 thing that frame rate always varies. Sometimes it goes upto 45 and again in next frame it comes to 3-4 and again goes to 15-16.
I am quite confused. Please let me know if anyone is having any idea about this.

in a local as3 application i need to capture a video at 25 frames per second and send the bytearray to a local python script.when i try to encode the bytearray to png inside as3 it is much to slow.so i decided to just write the raw bytearray i got from :[code]this is pretty performant and does not drop frames so far.however, i need to convert these raw bytes to png on the python side.
