Apr 28, 2005my website has a flash menu that is a little bit annoying to see reloading everytime people hit a button. So i would like to set the buttons action to send a javascript variable or something like that. This way the html content, above the flash could change with a javascript include which would use this variable to know what page should be included... something like that. I don't know how to do this (flash to javascript and the use the variable to include a page content)

Aug 26, 2011The gist of my problem is that currently i have a searchable XML database which contains projects that when clicked on, link to a new tab or window (depending on your browser) of that specific project. see and then click "WORK" on the left side, to see it in action... type CHICAGO or something like that to see how it works...Basically, in my quest to eliminate all pop ups and additional HTML pages, id like to click on the project name and have it execute my existing loadClip preloading function. I can not seem to figure out how to do this...

Oct 17, 2006I recently found kirupa and started learning flash, now i've modified the code from Senoculars XML search to search through keywords for my images and display the results. When you click an image it gets magnified. My problem comes from wanting to be able to use a button to change between the images, like in this photo gallery.My problem is getting the number of the image I just clicked, if I can get that, writing the function to step between images will be no problem.

May 23, 2011I need to create a page on a site that has the ability to search a database of inventory items, but one that searches based on certain selections (such as a maximum and minimum price, size and things like check boxes to choose a shape like round, square etc.. and only should the matching items).Is this kind of thing possible in flash?If it is, does anybody know how I would go about doing this

But once I give them the source code they can also re-sell the applications to other people. I need a 3rd party Flash app to call a function on my Flex 4 app (they are ready to customize their 3rd party app how I specify). I use ExternalInterface.call("javascript_function", arguments) extensively. I know there's a bridge to go from Javascript to Actionscript as well. So I guess I could go from their flash app -> javascript function -> flex bridge -> my flex app. Do I have to go through javascript? Is there a better way?

Disadvantage of showing error in browser window is that it wont show the line number of the error. Is there any otherway to get the line number of error, when running in the browser.
Android :: Frame Rate Is Very Low For Android Game Developed By Flash CS5?
Dec 29, 2010I am porting my flash games on android. I have ported 3 successfully. But the problem with all of them is they are giving very low frame rate near about 7-8. And I have observed 1 thing that frame rate always varies. Sometimes it goes upto 45 and again in next frame it comes to 3-4 and again goes to 15-16.
I am quite confused. Please let me know if anyone is having any idea about this.
