I've created a website which uses a flash header incorporating the navigation. Each time a user loads a new page, the header replays.Is it possible for a bit of script to detect if the header has played and not play it again on every page load?

And I have this code in my html document defining the iframe: Code:

The problem is, this works fine in google Chrome, but not in mozilla firefox or IE. So that eliminates the idea of it being a coding error on my part. Is there another way to do this that all three browsers will support?
Is there some code that I can use to detect whether a frame has already been played? What I'd like to do is detect yes or no, then jump to a specific frame depending on the condition.

I want to make my SWF be on the very top of the page, but beneath the header. The SWF automatically adjusts its size based on the browser's; I want it to take up as much room as possible at all times while still being able to see everything, which I have.
The problem is 2 things: one, I have something flying in and out (from the top) and you can see it in the white-space around the SWF when it is not in on the stage. Two, the whole vertical alignment thing. I want it to be DIRECTLY under the header, not centered.
I'm using Dreamweaver to make this webpage by the way.... I'm not really sure which end this is- Dreamweaver or Flash...
I am trying to include a flash header at the top of every page of my site. I have the majority of it done but I am having difficulties creating the navigation bar that will link to the other pages. I have 2 swf's and a activex media player on an asp page. I want the buttons on my swf to control what live stream the activex player plays. The stream urls are in a webservice that i connect with one swf then send to the other swf using "localconnection". So when you click on a button on the first swf, it then sends a list of available streams to the other swf, displaying them in their designated dynamic text fields, which are located on top of their corresponding buttons. In my "localconnection" i send both the name and the url from the first swf to the second. Basically I want to know if its possible to click on a button in a swf and control what stream is played through the media player on the same asp page.

I have figured out how to load an FLV after the first one has played. Unfortunately, I can't get the next movie to load.[code]
View 1 RepliesI create FLVs and F4Vs and then use CS4 to create an SWF to stream them. Everything works well from my hard drive. I upload all the files to a server, the skin appears, but a green animated bar just scrolls endlessly - which I believe means the FLV/F4V is not loading. I try this on about 5 different servers and get the same problem on each - so I'm not sure I can call my hosting service and request "changing the mime-type" will solve the problem.
The path to the video appears to be relative - that is, I can copy my exported files to any folder on my local drive and the video plays. Its just when I upload it that it stops working.

I'd like to make a "main" flash movie to load external .swfs. It's not a problem to make it load a random external .swf but how could I make the loaded .swfs randomly load another .swf on the root at the end of its timeline?

Am developing a website in joomla and have a .swf file loading for the banner of each page depending on which page id is passed via the url. Basically i have a default banner and on certain pages i have a different .swf loading. This is done with php. Now what i want is to use actionscript to detect if a page has been visited - if it has then set the movie to a still frame so the movie only runs once when the page is visited . I came across a script which allows me do this

This is great and works well for the default .swf but i need scripts for my other .swf files that will detect if a visitor has been to these pages or that these .swf files have run.
What's the best way to add a flash detect to a html page. I have a html page with a flash element in a DIV. (but without prober flash detect). Now i'm confused about the generated code after publishing my flash file.
What part of code should I put in my html file, or is it possible to link to a 'universal js file'?
I have a flash file that will be running on my website, however, if, when a user is using the flash file, there is an update? (i.e. I update the swf and upload the new one to my site) I want the current flash file to say, "A new update is ready, refresh your page" .... I planned on doing this by having an html page that just has a number on it, when you first open the flash file it will find out what number is on that page, then, every 30 seconds or so it will check that page again, and, if that number changes (because I edited the html page to have a new number on it.) then it will know that I've also uploaded a new version of the swf file to the server and it will alert the user to refresh the page... So how do I check what number is on a blank html page with only 1 number in it via actionscript 2.0? Something about XML? Or is there just a simple function?

View 2 RepliesI have a an unobtrusive flash video looping in the background of a website, it is not essential to navigation - it is purely cosmetic.The flash video loops every 30 seconds.As this video is on all pages, it jumps back to the start when a new page is loaded.Is there an actionscript / javascript way to get it to remember the position it got to on the old page so it can start there on the new page?I do know that this can be accomplished by loading the flash movie in a frame as well as by having the subsequent pages load the contents in AJAX but I was hoping not to go down this route.I have seen other people ask the question and allude to the solution but they only posted that they got it to work without saying how.
