SWF Will Load Once But Won't Play Again When Page Is Loaded?
Jan 9, 2010
my swf will only load once in internet explorer.. When you navigate out of that page and come back to it it won't play automatically anymore...I'm using FLASH CS4 and use the google swf code 2.2...here's the pageit used to be so easy just inserting it in Dreamweaver =/ but that wouldn't work either
on my website, I wanna load different bg animations after my page has been loaded. I don't wanna pre-load because I don't want waiting time. Will loading in this way interfere with anything else on my page such as the buttons actions slowing down?
I've created a website which uses a flash header incorporating the navigation. Each time a user loads a new page, the header replays. Is it possible for a bit of script to detect if the header has played and not play it again on every page load?
I have a Nav MENU with the usual about, services, portfolio buttons on press of those buttons a seperate SWF file is loaded into a empty movie clip named "container" what i want to happen is
e.g. on press of portfolio button it plays out the home SWF which is already loaded into empty movie clip, and then when the home.SWF has reached the end frame it will then load the new portfolio SWF into the same lets say the first 10frames of any of the external SWF are the unraveling of the movie then there is a stop(); function then the next ten frames are the re-packing (sorry for terminology) of the movie
How can I mention in the actionscript 3 that the movie clip on frame no. 10 should play after the webpage loads (or after 1 minute)? then stops? The code would be on Frame no. 1.
I would like to create my page links so when I roll over the text(link) enlarges and then once pressed a swf animation plays. When it stops it automatically directs to the desired page.
I have a flash site that has four pages which all stretch to fit window size.As soon as I go to a gallery page that is called in via SWF, and come back, I loose my dynamic stretching of all my pages...I would like the SWF page to stretch to fit also, and its isn't.
I have a flash header for an html site that is about a megabyte and obviously needs a preloader. Unfortunately it won't work to have the preloader loading at the top while the rest of the html below is visible — it will end up looking like the top navigation is cut off, as the top 10 pixels of the nav bar is actually in the swf header (fully loaded it will look contiguous)Is there a way to preload it in one html page and then once it's loaded into the cache automatically jump to the page with the big swf?
I have a site up that is a "music" site, it is XML and flash and I would like to know if it would be possible to and how would I enable the page so that it shuffles the songs and plays a random song every time the page is loaded.URL...
My basic aim is to create a newspaper that consists of four pages. Each page i have created and are sitting in the library as sprites. Each page has buttons that need linking so that when pressed it loads the next page or page that i want. This is the part i am confused with =/ how do i make the buttons on each page load the next page (sprite) from the library??
I have a an unobtrusive flash video looping in the background of a website, it is not essential to navigation - it is purely cosmetic. The flash video loops every 30 seconds. As this video is on all pages, it jumps back to the start when a new page is loaded. Is there an actionscript / javascript way to get it to remember the position it got to on the old page so it can start there on the new page?I do know that this can be accomplished by loading the flash movie in a frame as well as by having the subsequent pages load the contents in AJAX but I was hoping not to go down this route.I have seen other people ask the question and allude to the solution but they only posted that they got it to work without saying how.
I am trying to load an external swf with a number of quotes into an empty movie clip on the home page. then I want it to obviously disappear when nav to any other page.
1) know that you need a loaderEmpty_mc to load the swf into
2) don't know code for how to get it to load on entering the home page
3) don't know how to cdde for leaving the home page and making it disappear
Im working on a website for school, and im doing it through flash. The server ive been given is being taken up by thousands of pages, so its slow. Instead of loading each page through HTML, ive decided i could do a seperate frame for each page. However, to reach the menu at the bottom, you have to scroll down. Is there any way to make it so that when you click a button to load a different page for the flash player to scroll up all the way to the top of the page itself?
I am trying to create a page transition that will play a movieCLip transition into a page. and then it stops then when another button is pressed, it will play that transition out while loading the appropriate one. In the attached FLA, if you click on the red button first, the blue transition plays,
it works correctly/ Playing out of the blue Transition and into the Red transition. However if I click it again it does the opposite, and just keep alternating.
If I add the
_root.transitionClip2.play("out");
to the first button then, nothing works right. I will eventually have more buttons, and may need to use a variable to control which "out" transitions is played, but how do I get the buttons to do this?I just want it to exit the current movie clip and play the "in" section of the desired clip.
i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,
function over(event:MouseEvent):void { this.gotoAndPlay(30);} function out(event:MouseEvent):void {[code].....
If on a basic website I have some animation that plays in first before the buttons appear. How can i get the animation to play out (outro) before going to the page? Is there some kind of detection or something that will detect the button being pressed, play the outro and then head off to the page. I'm using external .swf's to load in content and my timeline has labels on - to keep the main file size down.
i have some preloader frustrations..dont point me to a previous preloader thread...i have been there already and no im not talking about any preloader that loads the WHOLE movie at the beginning, i know how those work... I need a tutorial/explanation that will teach me how to load a move 'button by button' or 'page by page'.
By this I mean, the first thing the movie will do is load the first 'page' and say you have a few more buttons on that 'page'. It loads all the buttons and that 'page' first..nothing else...then i click one of the buttons (no matter what order) and the 'page' switches to a preloader and then when the second 'page' is loaded, it is displayed. So many sites have this kind of preloader...but i cant believe how many tutorial sites only teach how to program the type of preloader that just loads the WHOLE movie.
Whats the best way to have my movie play only when the homepage loads? I have the movie on every page as it is my navigational bar however I dont want it to play except when somebody loads the homepage, and I dont want to create a static version because then my site will have to load 2 versions. Is there some query code in actionscript to query the current URL of the loaded page? I guess I just set up a conditional statement and if its true, gotoAndPlay.
I've published this small swf file and it plays allright when I preview it but when I insert it in an html page (DW) it just won't play.
I won't attach the swf this time because I suspect that is why this same post I placed here yesterday never got listed but in any case I think the problem is not with the file itself but perhaps something in DW that I'm not handling well. I inserted it in a div btw via the flash option in the insert menu.
I used my Flash encoder to convert a .wmv to .flv and FTP to my server but I cant play it. I can play it fine on my desktop but not on my web page. www.holy-trinity-schoolschool.org/index.html. I ftp'ed the Script file and the .flv but nogo.
I dragged the FLVPlayback to the stage and set the source to my FLV file name and set the skin to one of the options. My HTML page calls upon the published SWF file. Do I need to name the additional SWF file to the same name as my skin?
How do you publish the skin file also?
I'm thinking this issue lies with the dimensions of the movie. The FLV says it is 640 x 480. So I went in and modified the Flash document to the same. Do I need to use the Transform tool and make the actual player to these proportions so it fills the stage? - here is where the confusion lies...or is it 'smart' enough to conform. My settings are the default of 'maintain aspect ratio'.
So this is not something I wanted to get into on new years eve!! However, I have this SWF file:
http:[url]....note the fireworks in the back and it plays perfectly fine.this is the published HTML file http:[url].....and that too plays perfectly fine.. however when I call the swf file from my index file
Ok why wont this work? (flash CS5 and action script 2)Trying to do aNavigation bar button , to preloader to abour me page with a photo component. Not on the pre loader page the bar works, only it wont disappear.
What I'm trying to do is get the total bytes of all the files I want to load and display the percentage loaded of total bytes and bytes loaded of all the files. Its a slideshow so i want all the files loaded and then it will play. I've looked at bulk-loader but it wasn't what I needed. The image are loaded from an xml file. I think I would need to create an Array and then find out the total bytes but I don't know how to reference the loader in the progress.
I made a simple page with several buttons that play music, but then decided I wanted a video (flv) to first play automatically, and when that ends the page with the buttons appears. How can I do that? Right now I have four layers using one frame. Layer one has the AS code, two has the text, three has the buttons and the fourth layer has a background image.
I need to have the sound play when the page is opened and stopped or paused on an event listener.
code is below var soundReq:URLRequest = new URLRequest("sound.mp3");var sound:Sound = new Sound();var soundControl:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel();var resumeTime:Number = 0;
I have a one page web site with 5 links to pseudo pages, so my problem is that on every part of the web site the swf files start playing. (Of course I understand that I can set the first one to play and the others to stop mode, but that doesn't solve the problem) What I try do do is this: *When the web site starts only the first pseudo page let the swf play. *When clicking a link to an other pseudo page that particular movie on the linked page starts playing. *All other swf movies don't play.
