I used my Flash encoder to convert a .wmv to .flv and FTP to my server but I cant play it. I can play it fine on my desktop but not on my web page. www.holy-trinity-schoolschool.org/index.html. I ftp'ed the Script file and the .flv but nogo.

I have a flash template that I bought and customized with dreamweaver, flash and Coda html editor, the website test PERFECTLY when I test the index.html file, all of the buttons work fine, I have a total of 12 .flv videos and they ALL play back fine, when I play the index.html file, the problem occurs when I upload the files to my godaddy server, 11 of the videos play fine, the whole site is fine, it is one particular .flv file that will not play once it is uploaded to the server. I have changed the orders the video play, renamed the file and changed the html flv path to reflect the name change, I have deleted all the files off my server, refreshed the server logged out and re logged on and uploaded everything again, I have re-encoded the original .mov file to a .flv file again using Adobe media encoder, still nothing, I am wondering why would the index.html play this particular .flv file fine, but once uploaded to the server it will not play, the path is correct I have checked it, if the path were the problem the index.html for that particular file would not play when I test the index.html file before I upload it, but it plays fine until it is uploaded, I am uploading the whole folder on the root, and this particular video file is in a folder with all the rest of the .flv files, I even tried changing the path and putting this particular .flv file in a seperate folder and change the path still nothing.
View 7 RepliesWhen I publish the swf file with html, it works fine on my computer. If I send it to my old computer with Win XP and for most other people it works fine. But there are some who just get a black screen when it plays or a "get flashplayer" symbol. They update and it still doesn't work. They do not have a company setting that does not allow them to play the file and I have walked them through the browser settings so that anything should play. But still, no luck.
View 2 RepliesI have a mx:html component in a AIR Desktop Application that load an external webpage into it...this webpage has an iframe in it and the iframe load (obviously) another page...I can't figure out how to get the code of the iframe...If I try to get the webpage content I only retrive the start page like:

It's like as the second page is not loaded, but it's actually be loaded and rendered in the browser window (i tried also using a button so I can delay the search for the iframe content.
I have a flash menu that I'd like to use on a HTML page. I'd like to make it so that when a user clicks one of the buttons, that button will remain highlighted on the page that uploads. An example of this would be at [URL]. How is this possible with action script? I was told in another board that it had to do with variables, though the person did not give a clear explanation that I could understand. I'm new to action script but am learning bit by bit!

I edited a video and am trying to just throw it up as a basic flash video for an April Fools Joke but it's not working for some reason.

It will play just fine when I demo it on my own computer but when I upload it to a web server it doesn't work anymore. It shows that there is a Flash object. When I right click on the object it gives me the normal "Zoom In" and "Quality" buttons, but the movie itself doesn't play. And I do have the html file and the swf file in the same folder and it is named movie.swf. There is no other html code in this webpage than the above.
Is there any way I can create a slider on my desktop to access some of the controls of the YouTube Video player like volume, pause, play, playback speed? I know it is a flash player, but would this involve accessing the YouTube API or something else? For example, I'd like to program something similar to what's provided by the Enounce MySpeed application (control over play back speed).

View 5 RepliesI am trying to create a page transition that will play a movieCLip transition into a page. and then it stops then when another button is pressed, it will play that transition out while loading the appropriate one. In the attached FLA, if you click on the red button first, the blue transition plays,

and then stops on the stage. When you click the green button second,

it works correctly/ Playing out of the blue Transition and into the Red transition. However if I click it again it does the opposite, and just keep alternating.
If I add the
_root.transitionClip2.play("out");
to the first button then, nothing works right. I will eventually have more buttons, and may need to use a variable to control which "out" transitions is played, but how do I get the buttons to do this?I just want it to exit the current movie clip and play the "in" section of the desired clip.
i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

If on a basic website I have some animation that plays in first before the buttons appear. How can i get the animation to play out (outro) before going to the page? Is there some kind of detection or something that will detect the button being pressed, play the outro and then head off to the page. I'm using external .swf's to load in content and my timeline has labels on - to keep the main file size down.

Whats the best way to have my movie play only when the homepage loads? I have the movie on every page as it is my navigational bar however I dont want it to play except when somebody loads the homepage, and I dont want to create a static version because then my site will have to load 2 versions.Is there some query code in actionscript to query the current URL of the loaded page? I guess I just set up a conditional statement and if its true, gotoAndPlay.
View 1 RepliesI've published this small swf file and it plays allright when I preview it but when I insert it in an html page (DW) it just won't play.
I won't attach the swf this time because I suspect that is why this same post I placed here yesterday never got listed but in any case I think the problem is not with the file itself but perhaps something in DW that I'm not handling well. I inserted it in a div btw via the flash option in the insert menu.
I dragged the FLVPlayback to the stage and set the source to my FLV file name and set the skin to one of the options. My HTML page calls upon the published SWF file. Do I need to name the additional SWF file to the same name as my skin?
How do you publish the skin file also?
I'm thinking this issue lies with the dimensions of the movie. The FLV says it is 640 x 480. So I went in and modified the Flash document to the same. Do I need to use the Transform tool and make the actual player to these proportions so it fills the stage? - here is where the confusion lies...or is it 'smart' enough to conform. My settings are the default of 'maintain aspect ratio'.

I made a simple page with several buttons that play music, but then decided I wanted a video (flv) to first play automatically, and when that ends the page with the buttons appears. How can I do that? Right now I have four layers using one frame. Layer one has the AS code, two has the text, three has the buttons and the fourth layer has a background image.

I have a one page web site with 5 links to pseudo pages, so my problem is that on every part of the web site the swf files start playing. (Of course I understand that I can set the first one to play and the others to stop mode, but that doesn't solve the problem) What I try do do is this: *When the web site starts only the first pseudo page let the swf play. *When clicking a link to an other pseudo page that particular movie on the linked page starts playing. *All other swf movies don't play.

View 7 RepliesI've got my swf which plays fine when opened in a browser - it's a container called 'country' that's coded to load the different clips (clip1.swf, clip2.swf, etc.) - but when placing it into an HTML page it won't load the clips and I'm thinking it's because of some actionscript error.

It there any way of displaying videos on a website that would allow me to show just a clip of a video without physically slicing the file into actual clips? Specifically, I'd like to play the clips using an open source flash player. I could make specific clips, but that is time consuming and a maintenance nightmare.youtube won't work because it is very important we be able to control who views these videos. Also, this web application is running off of a classic LAMP stack.

I have created a site that has 4 areas that play a looping swf file of images. I can get this to work no problem with a behavior for rollover, but what I am looking to do is have the 4 swf files automatically play when the page loads.
The swf file I want to play is really simple, just images of banners.
I am creating a flash site, and inside my frame label for lets say "pageA" the movie clip begins In pageA, fades up shows the content and stops(); alowing for the page content to be read.
After reading, the viewer clicks on the button inside the nav bar, to take them to say "pageB" i now want "Page A" to fade out and then root to "pageB
my thinking is that i insert a stop on the time line of the movieclip, then when the button is pressed it plays, lets say, the remaining 10 frames in the clip (the fade out), and then roots to pageB.
i just need a simple actionscript to do that, if there is an easier way, any one who could point that out and end my misery is a god/godess respectfully!
