Professional :: FLVs And F4Vs Will Not Load When Played From Server?

I create FLVs and F4Vs and then use CS4 to create an SWF to stream them. Everything works well from my hard drive. I upload all the files to a server, the skin appears, but a green animated bar just scrolls endlessly - which I believe means the FLV/F4V is not loading. I try this on about 5 different servers and get the same problem on each - so I'm not sure I can call my hosting service and request "changing the mime-type" will solve the problem.
The path to the video appears to be relative - that is, I can copy my exported files to any folder on my local drive and the video plays. Its just when I upload it that it stops working.

Over the past couple of years, I'd been told by numerous techs at 1&1 that they supported Streaming for FLVs, and I'd planned to make streaming videos a mainstay in my website.Now, as I went to implement that, I learned that this was a 'miscommunication' and that they do not actually support streaming, or no longer support it if they had in the past.
So I'm trying to find out if there's a cost effective way to stream videos for my website or if I'm better off just using the regular progressive downloads. The site I'm building is based on the Gaia framework, and on several pages (between 5 and 10), a video will begin when the visitor arrives at that page. I'll also have an expanding number of videos that can be played by clicking on various buttons. Videos (including lots of 3d animation) will range from 30 seconds to roughly 10 minutes.

Flash CS4, I have an f4v vid on one layer and another f4v vid on a second layer. the films do not overlap on the timeline. I have a button to goto the layer with the second f4v. All works fine however when I go to the second fv4 the first one continues to play which i obviously need to stop.

I'm creating a Flex application that enables users to communicate in a kind of video chat room. I only allow to live streams at any given moment. I'm using FMS to record the videos in FLVs. What I need to do is post process those videos and create a single video with all that happened in the video room. That means that I need to combine 2 videos, reduce the size of one of them so it appears over the other one. In other words one video will use the whole space an the other will appear at the upper left corner (over the other video,).
I need a server side solution for this. I created another post here and someone suggest a screen capture solution. That would work perfectly, but since this appliction will be used for several people and any time, I want the process to be automaticaly not manual. So, I'm thinking I can do it with FFMPEG, but I need a way to identify in which order I need to compose the videos. Something like adding a time stamp to each FLV in FMS (when they are recorded). How can I add custom metadata to the FLV?

I'm having a problem with Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5. I have a simple application setup. I would like to simply to be allow the user to record multiple flvs. This is just because we want them to record, preview and either publish or try again.

to start and stop recording. The problem I'm having is that while the first record seems to go ok, the second gets garbled. The video starts about 70% through, and then just plays a small portion. I've tried meta injection to fix it up, but it's just not working. I'm thinking maybe I have to reset the stream or something before starting a record again, but I don't know how.

code that will load and play a folder of flv's continuously?I have a folder of short clips i converted to flv. When one clip finishes, i want the next clip to play and to endlessly loop through the flvs, never stopping. If there's a way to include a transition, that'd be cool too, but not important. I've got the first clip loading, but can't get the next to play.

I am currently working on a flash project that need load and play 5 different external Flvs @ the same time. the flv files are between 2MB to 36MB. I am using AS to dynamic load them into the main SWF. it works locally on my laptop but when I upload everything on to JustHost, only the smallest one shows and start to play.

I am using Flash Live Media Encoder 3.2 to stream live ADUIO ( without clicking on video check box) since I am streaming Radio news only. The server is at When I choose to Save File As, it came out a .flv , and can't play back, eventhough its a 129MB file. But if I chose the video check box which straming with video , it came out fine.

I stream some h264 videos to my application in FMS3.5， the videos can be played in FMS, but don't work in the local playback, <s:VideoPlayer source="test.f4v" x="31" y="18" width="402" height="206"/>. I get some h264 videos from FMS application "vod", they work well.

Why can't I get my FLVs and F4Vs to play out of a browser window but they'll play out of explorer through the Adobe Media player?Once I convert them to be SWFs, they play out of a browser but they're still humungous and take a lot of time to play. 400Mgs as an FLV/F4V and 200Mgs as a SWF. Is there a way to shrink them down to a much smaller file size? These were video recordings of long presentations.

I am going to be revamping a required annual intranet training session for employees. For the first time, we are interested in including a video instead of having employees page through html screens/jsps.However, we need some sort of accountability. For example, we previously required that employees answer a multiple choice question correctly every few screens. No record was kept of attempts to answer; the application simply wouldn't proceed until the correct answer was selected.For the purposes of using the video, we'd simply like to verify that the video played thru (no fast forward).I've been perusing the different Events available and don't see exactly what I was hoping for.What would be the best approach to this? Should I disable the drag bar/fast forwarding and include code that checks to see if the video stopped and the buffer is empty?

Is there any way to combine a bunch of F4V's into a SWC or SWF and then load them via actionscript? I tried FZip with a bunch of F4V's, but when I get to loader.loadBytes(), it comes back with an error -
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type.
Essentially, I just want to collect all of my media into a single external file that I can then pull stuff from - pngs and videos - preferably keeping the video in F4V/H.264, but not necessarily required.

I suppose the title says it all. I can load an external video file (FLV) and I can have it play. I also have the custom buttons made to control the clip. The only thing I have left to do is to have the main timeline move onto frame 2 once the external video reaches its end. I am using actionscript 3 and flash cs 5.5.

Recently i had a problem with my flash player after installing a Windows Update (not sure if its related). Movies played on sites like YouTube became out of sync and pixelated. Im not exactly sure how to explain this, so i uploaded a few pictures of the issue.
[URL] The sound is normal and the only thing affected if the video. If is there is any sudden movement in the video, it will distort the image. using v10.2 and am on Win7 x64. Viewing the video's in Firefox. I had the same issue on my older computer a while back using Vista x64 in both Firefox and IE. The problem on my older computer was resolved by simply restarting the computer. But this time that didnt work. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling flash, and restarted multiple times

I have a flash header that was never completed because the guy I hired took people's money and ran. So now I even wonder if what he said could work with my flash header is true or not. But, usually there is always a way to make it work.I have a flash header that does two important things: 1) Upon entering the site, it loads and plays an audio track 2) Makes an animal noise when you hover over each animal menu item. (not sure if I'm able to give a link to it or not on here. If I able to and someone would like to see it let me know)I want to know if my flash header can support the following addionalunctionality/changes:1) Currently, it loads everytime a page is selected. I only want it to load the one time of entering the site because the audio gets annoying. Set a cookie maybe?2) But, I do not want to turn the audio off completely because I still want the hover over each menu item sound.
3) Have a link on it to allow them to select to turn on / off the sound completely. It currently has that, but only for the current page. Once you select another page, the audio is back to on.4) Lastlly, is there a way for it to detect that someone doesn't support flash and to display an html version of it? And can flash create a html version from my fla file?I don't know much about flash (but am learning) so I'm not sure if I'll be able to do this myself. However, I want to find out if my flash header will even work this way before I invest the time learning it just for these changes. I know it will be pretty deep with script code, but I'm hoping I could find base code already available for these features.

Medium-load chat server using Shared Objects segfaults every few hours. Runtime size has been increased to 30MB (this saves it from crashing every 10 minutes). I have the core dump but don't understand what it means.

i have 2 movie clip in different layer but in the same frame (e.g 0 to 10). i have: 1st movie clip contains a red circle that will animate from left to right. 2nd movie clip contains a blue circle that will animate from right to left. i have 2 square buttons (a green and black) that will control the two movie. all i want to do is if i press black square button the 1st movie will play but not the 2nd movie even though they are in the same frame?
and yes i want the 1st/2nd movie to stay after the either of two movie played that's why i put them in the same frame size.

Randomly on Sunday night the FMS Admin Console which you can access via [URL] stopped working, as in it would not load. It times out and Firefox says 'Server Not Found' It was working fine on Sunday morning and has been doing for a year now, I rebooted the server and that did nothing. I have no idea why it will not load as the server runs fine and I can still stream and everything.

I have one .swf that references several FLVs in a separate folder. That .swf is embedded several times on one webpage and each one references a different video.My only problem is that they all load when the page loads. I would like the first video to load automatically (not play automatically, just load) and the rest to only load when they are clicked.I have been trying to control the buffering with JavaScript where the .swf are embedded but have been unsuccessful.I have also fooled around with the buffer time parameter of the FLVPlayback component and still no luck.

We purchased FMIS and we are encoding large 15+ hour MP4 recordings using flash media encoder. When opening these large files for playback, which have not been opened recently the player displays the loading indicator for up to 4 minutes! Once it has apparently been cached on the server it opens immediately from any browser even after clearing local browser cache. So a few questions for the experts
1. Why is it taking so long to load the file. Is it because the MP4 metadata is in the wrong format and the file is so huge? I read somewhere that Media Encoder records with incorrect MP4 metadata is that still the case?
2. Once its cached on the server, exactly how much of it is cached. Some of these files are larger than 500mb.
3. What fms settings do you suggest I change. FMIS is running on windows server R2 64 bit, but FMIS itself is 32 bit. We have not upgraded to the 64 bit version. We have 8GB of ram. Is it OK to set FMS cache to 3GB. And would that only have enough room for 3-4 large files, because we have hundreds of them.

I have a Flash CS3/AS2 project containing swfs with FLVs. When I Publish the "START.fla" which pulls all the files together, I tell Flash to create a "Projector" for Mac and an "EXE" for Windows. On my (OS X) desktop this Projector thing works perfectly...swfs open from a menu in my GUI, the swfs reference flvs and the flvs play. The swfs are in the same folder as their flvs.
If I put this whole folder full of files over to the WinXP box (via shared folder), double click on the EXE - no flvs will appear. Everything "leading up to" an flv works - but where there should be a video there is none. Moving on I burn the project onto a CD. When I open the CD on the Mac and find the Projector - I double click and it still works great. Everything flawless.
I put that same CD into the WinXP (SP3) box, find the EXE and double click. As I expected - no improvement, the GUI opens,the swfs can be launched from the menu, but no flvs appear. I get the swf that references the flv - but no flv. I even waited extra time thinking it would eventually happen. No. Why it should work on Mac and not on XP? Where should I look for the glitch?
