Professional :: 2 F4vs On Separate Layers And Different Places On Timeline Both Playing Same Time
May 19, 2011
Flash CS4, I have an f4v vid on one layer and another f4v vid on a second layer. the films do not overlap on the timeline. I have a button to goto the layer with the second f4v. All works fine however when I go to the second fv4 the first one continues to play which i obviously need to stop.
I have a number of different music selections on each on their own layer. Is there a way to simply turn off the sound in a layer so I can test different music tracks without having to delete the layer and drag a new sound in? In short when I preview my movie all of the sounds play at once but is there a way to simply turn off the sounds in each layer to test each music track separately.
I'm a newbie to Flash. I have created a basic screensaver which has 8 different layers. 7 are hidden and 1 plays through as it is now. I was wondering if there is any way that on completing the timeline, it starts the timeline again and then shows the second layer and masks the 1st one. It would then do the same, masking the 2nd layer and showing the 3rd and so on.
using the distribute to layers option constantly crashes me! I can use it ONCE after a restart of flash and after that it's a gamble wether it will crash or not...though more often than not it does
I create FLVs and F4Vs and then use CS4 to create an SWF to stream them. Everything works well from my hard drive. I upload all the files to a server, the skin appears, but a green animated bar just scrolls endlessly - which I believe means the FLV/F4V is not loading. I try this on about 5 different servers and get the same problem on each - so I'm not sure I can call my hosting service and request "changing the mime-type" will solve the problem.
The path to the video appears to be relative - that is, I can copy my exported files to any folder on my local drive and the video plays. Its just when I upload it that it stops working.
I've created the artwork for my first Flash site as a .ai file, separated into layers that represent each page of the site. I imported the .ai file into Flash - all the layers looked separate in the import dialog box. However, when the file imported to stage, the timeline only contains each page, not the layers within - and I can't twirl open the layers on the timeline. So there are ony four layers on the timeline. In the library, each layer is separated out. Am I supposed to do something else to give each indiviual layer it's own timeline? When I imported the file, I choose to import to 'Flash Layers'
Is it possible to have movieclips, on two seperate layers, both located on the first frame of their layer, to have an AS where when MovieClip1 reached frame 5 of the movieclip MovieClip2 goes to frame 5 of its movieclip but MovieClip1 continues to play even though the AS was triggered?
I'm doing some animated characters (I'm on CS5), and I'm trying to optimize the animation/rigging process to save time and manpower (there is very little of both).
The characters all have multiple animations, which are stored each in their own movieclip, which in turn is placed on a main movieclip where each animation verb (states) is stored on a frame, so we can switch between animations (the usual game character setup)
Each state movieclip has the entire animation on it's timeline. they have about 20 layers, each with as few objects as possible in them... The idea was that later, these layers could be moved onto movieclips of their own, to allow for character customization (changing colors and whatnot)... This seems like a pretty straightforward setup, but there is a snag.
Some objects that need to be moved onto movieclips are sharing layers with other objects that don't, despite my best efforts to plan ahead and prevent that (hence the 20 layers, which obviously weren't enough).
So my question is:
Is it at all possible to select shapes across all frames of a layer? I know you can edit multiple frames, but I haven't found a way to select a specific shape across all frames.
For a better unerstanding of the situation, imagine that a layer might contain the shaped for an arm. They're all at shape level, and the only separation between the different arm sections are the different colors each has, which makes it possible to select a single shape on a single frame just by clicking it (which will 'flood fill' the selection).
Now, with edit multiple frames on, clicking a shape will only select it on a single frame, and drag selecting will select a rectangular area across all frames.
What I'm looking for is a way to 'flood select' a shape across all frames, so I can select, say, the upper part of the arm across all frames, and then delete it, leaving me with a layer that only has the lower part (and a previously coped layer that can have the lower part removed, effectively separating them).
Shift/Alt/Ctrl/Right clicking won't work here... there doesn't seem to be one of Adobe's obscure shortcuts for this..
I can can select the anchor points as "white" quickly, but I can't get them to be "black" without doing it layer by layer, which is tedious. What I want is way to select lines that are in different layers and get the points I selected in a way similar to the regular selection tool or free transform tool.
My goal is to have a map that I can drag around within the frame of a webpage. Finding the right code to move the map in a restricted frame wasn't too easy but I managed to find that (which works like a charm):
Now the catch is that I'd like the map to be dragged simultaneously with a movieclip situated above, that contains names of regions, cities etc.. Both can't be on the same layer as I need to put a layer of texture in between.
Is there a simple way to link both layers and make them move at once?
I wonder if a keyframe on an actions layer that has an action in it will work like a keyframe on other layers, meaning it will make all actions on the previous action frame inactive and only the actions on its corresponding action sheet available. If that is the case, is it possible to have at least two action layers to separate global and local actions?
I am talking about anchor points on a line, not a keyframe. They are also called "handles". I can select the anchor points as "white" quickly, but I can't get them to be "solid"without doing it layer by layer, which is tedious. What I want is way to select lines that are in different layers and get the points I selected in a way similar to the regular selection tool or free transform tool. Here is an image of what I'm trying to do, but more easily. The lines are on separate layers, but when I select them with the subselection tool I have to go layer by layer selecting the points. I'm trying to look for a very quick way of doing it. When I do select all with the subselection tool on, the anchor points are only "white" and not "solid" as shown below.
I've run into a bit of a problem using Adobe's CS3 flash program in terms of lip syncing... I can place the sound files in the timeline at whichever point I like and so forth, but I have no way to play them in such a way where I can adequately make lip syncs. It's hard to explain, but in flash MX I would merely click the timeline, drag the cursor along it, and it would play the sounds as it did the frames, one piece at a time. That way I could tell where the consonants were and therefore where to change my characters' lips. This is not the same as simply hitting "enter" and letting the sound play in its entirety.
I have a movie clip on my timeline and it has maybe 60 frames in it. There's enough space for it to play and loop, and when I press ctrl enter to preview it, it plays as expected. However, as I scrub through my animation, the only things that play are the motion tweens I made. The movie clip just stays stuck on the first frame. I was curious so I exported it as is right now and it goes through the frames correctly there too. However, this is fustrating because I want to see the movie clip cycle through it's frames when I scrub through my timeline!
I've compiled an MTS video into MP4 format using FFMPEG. The video is 2 minutes long.
I want to be able to play the video back but start at 0:15 seconds and end at 0:45 seconds. Effectively I want the playback software to only show 30 seconds of playback available. The software must be a Flash-based application for integration into HTML.
I don't use Flash that much so the question may sound simple, but how do I pause audio in a timeline? I have added the audio, play and stop button. When I test it works fine, but I can't figure out how to add the pause button, or the play/pause button.
Excuse the probably simple question but I'm just starting off with Flash.I have imported a few video trailers directly into flash and saved them as movie clips. I want to be able to insert these movie clips onto the main timeline and play them one after the other, repeating once they have all played. On the main timeline I have set a layer for each clip and a keyframe where the clip is inserted for each layer. When I go to play the flash file, it is showing the first frame from each movie file and then moving to the first frame of the next movie file. What do I need to do to make flash play the entire movie file in that specific frame before moving to the next frame where the next movie file is and playing all that movie?
I have a navigation menu that is a movieclip (menu_mc). In the movieclip are 5 buttons. i need the buttons, when clicked, to play a different area of the timeline, dependent on where the user is on the timeline.
I've tried writing this actionscript on the main timeline. But can't get anything to work and am a little lost. for example Say the viewer is on frame 5, and clicks the "blue" button and jumps to frame 6. on frame 6 if they are to click "blue" button again i want to send them to frame 7, not to frame 6.
if anyone could direct me to a tutorial on how to write up something like this, especially one dealing with a very large timeline and multiple buttons, i'd be grateful!
If i create timeline slideshow with tweensbetween the pictures, how do I add music so that it ends when the pictures end?I read that audio can come out of sync??What if i use another program to create the swf like after effects that exports with audio? and import, would it lose sync then?
I have three FLV movie files that are places on diffrent frames on the main time line. When the viewer clicks on diffrent buttons I send them to that specific frame by go to and stop action and the flv start playing, but if they click out of that frame by pressing another button the video still plays on the background and they can hear the audio.this doesn't hap stop the video from playing by pressing thepen if they stop button on the flv player.
Running CS4 I have a .fla that was compiling fine yesterday. Today I made some slight additions and it wouldn't compile, giving errors saying that various things were undefined I was starting to go nuts until finally I made all layers in the timeline visible and compiled again. Now it compiles fineJust in case it was something Flash itself I created a new file, hid some layers and compiled and it was fine. So it's not the application, just this particular file.
I purchased the Adobe CS4 Web Premium for the MAC and a Flash template from ozzu.com. The template contains 201 items in it's library but it's only showing 13 layers in the timeline. When I create a new layer, it display a blank "Layer 61", so I'm assuming there are 60 layers created for the template by the original template designer. When I test the movie, it shows all the buttons, pages, images, text, etc. But when I go to Control and Play, it only displays whatever is in the 13 layers, that is, only a tiny portion of the entire template. How do I display all the images, buttons, text, etc.in the timeline so that they will show up in the Stage area?
I'm working on a project in AS2 and want to set a variable in an external text file.Depending on the value of that variable, specific timeline layers should be guided out.I was thinking that I could use JSFL to do this. However I'd like to do this for multiple flash files without having to open every .fla file manually and run the command within the IDE. Is this actually possible?
When I use an AS3 script that does different graphical background effects in realtime, I have problems using traditional timeline layers. Simply, the layers graphics are just wiped away.
For example: vizBmp = new BitmapData(970,970,false,0); dispBmp = vizBmp.clone();
I have only been using FLASH CS3 for a little under a month. I have messed about with it to create some basic stuff. However recently I started on a bit of a larger project. I 'm by no means an expert in FLASH CS3 or AS3.My problem -I created a .FLA file that has seven movie clips on the main timeline, each in its own layer. These are listed below in the order they appear within the main time line.
layer ------------ movie clip ON -------------- on_mc RIM ------------- rim_mc NAV-------------- coverbase_mc PLAYER---------- player_mc MAIN------------- main_mc NAMEBOX------- shellname_mc BASE------------ Base_mc
The art work for these was all imported from adobe photoshop. They all only have one frame on the main timeline. Each movie clip though has its own internal time line and some have further nested movie clips within them. The issue occurs within the NAV layer/coverbase_mc. I placed a movie clip(to act as a button) within coverbase_mc. This movie clip is called navbut_mc.Now, I already have a couple of similar movie clips, that act as buttons, in on_mc and rim_mc these work as I intended them to. However navbut_mc does not work at all in its current position. I get no errors at all on testing the movie but the action that I want it to do does not work even buttonmode = true; will not work on it.
However, if I use the same movie clip in the rim.mc, but obviously give it a seperate instance name (start_mc), then it works as intended. I have looked at various diffrent things but have to admit i'm stummped. Its almost as if when its in coverbase_mc its being hidden by the clips above it, if thats possible. The reasons I need it to work in coverbase_mc are for a) the overall look of the project b)I have some other buttons in that location that need to work from there.
I am trying to get a SWF to load behind other layers in the root timeline - right now it loads over everything - that is on the top most layer. Is there a way to make it load to a specifc layer on the root timeline?
I've been having a problem trying to implement 2 email forms in the same scene at different places in the timeline. If I do just one form, there isn't a problem, but there is a problem with the 2nd form (I've tried using different instance names to no avail). However, it appears I have most of it figured out, but am still having a problem, which I believe I may have a solution for by using an "if" statement. In the following AS3 code is a string that reads var URL_request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("send_email.php");
I believe I may be able to resolve the problem if I had a 2nd string (in the same code) that read var URL_request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("send_email_02.php"); Is there a way to include that string in the same AS3 by using an "if" statement telling the code to "submit" the 2nd form? If so, how to write that "if" statement?
When I'm in design mode in Flash Pro, I can selectively hide layers. However, whenever I run the movie for testing the hidden layer inevitably shows up. Frustrating, as I want to be able to test several different layers and not have them all appear.
