I've bought a component on flashden. This is a text component that makes it possible to load CSS & Html on your flash project. Check the included zip for the source. What I want is that the background of the component is transparant. Now it has a linear gradient. I've tried to set the drawing in the component to zero alpha but that didn't do the trick. How to edit the background (if nescessary by actionscript)?

As far as I know theres in no way to cahnge the alpha of a dynamic text box. I put one in a movie clip and when i try to change the alpha of it everything else in it changes its alpha but the not the DT box. Could someone plz verify for me that u can't change alpha and help me find a component that allows alpha control with a dynamic text box. thx in advance.
Can we fetch the alpha value from a canvas( i have a canvas in flex, setting background color with alpha, can i read the alpha from the canvas directly again later ? ) for example we can read the background color like canvasId.getStyle(backgroundColor) same way, any method for alpha as well?
I want to fade in a background with a alpha tween after it's loaded in by an UILoader. Everything seems to be working great when I do a Test Movie (in Flash) or view it in IE. However, I encounter a problem when viewing in Firefox. Somehow the alpha does'nt come up to 1(100%). Sometimes my background image is barely visable and sometimes it's at ~90%. It seems to be completely random.
Quote:
//load random background (1 to 10) var randomNumber:Number=Math.ceil(Math.random()*10); trace(randomNumber);
[code]....
I've tried increasing the final value (Regular.easeOut,0,1,2,true) and this will change something but doesn't solve the problem. I've also tried instead of fading in the background to fade out a overlaying vectorshape, but same result.Is it possible it has something to do with other script/my background img size/??.
I am trying to change the background color and alpha of a link bar in a Flex/Flash 4 application. No matter what properties I define, the background of said link bar is always white.[code]
I tried to playing around with the augmented reality. Therefore I watched the tutorial (http:url....) and all works like a charme to me. I replaced the kramer.m4v with my own video. It works perfectly.But I want to have my own video on a transparent layer.So that I can see myself not within the background of my video.Therefore I did a video on a greenscreen and keyed the background. All seems to be ok!I exported the video in an .mov with the alpha channel. It works so far, but the black background is still there if i hold the marker to the camera.so my question is: Is it not possible to export a mov with the alpha channel to let the background go away?
Any hints or workaround? I just want to have a video with me speaking on a transparent background and not with teh black background. I changed the kramer.m4v in the HELLOFlar.as to kramer.mov (its with my own video, just the name is the same) but the background isn´t gone
I am trying to access a button that has been added to the stage to change it's alpha value.I'm changing it from inside an object that is also on the stage.So I thought this.parent.feed_btn.alpha=0 would work but flash is saying:1119: Access of possibly undefined property feed_btn through a reference with static type flash.display:DisplayObjectContainer.I would actually prefer to remove it, but removeChild threw up the same error.
All I want to do is get rid of the background color in a list component, but I would prefer not to edit any skins or themes. I tried setting myComponent.background = false but that didn't help.
The project I'm working on requires older libraries that extend mx components (such as TitleWindow and TabNavigator), I can't use what I know about Spark skinning directly. However, since the project is being programmed using the default Spark theme (with my modifications on top) rather than the Halo theme, I apparently don't have access to the styles I need (namely backgroundImage and contentBackgroundImage which apparently require Halo to be active). Simply setting Halo to be the theme will break other things, not the least of which my own theme.
Plans are in the works to replace the older libraries or at least patch them better to Flex 4, but as of right now, I need a way to style/skin these components without modifying them directly. It would be ridiculous to be unable to add a background image to a TitleWindow's content area! I've searched the internet high and low all day and tried countless variations of styles, skins, selectors, and combinations thereof with no luck. How to add a background image to the content of a mx TitleWindow while using the Flex 4.1 sdk?!
In a component 'Group' I drag multiple pictures at one time I need to clean this component, but contains a component BitmapImage and I will not be erased:
How can I make the background of the Button component transparent in actionscript (or remove it completely) ?I'd like to show a Button component with only the text label, no background, no border.
Is it at all possible to put a image on the background of a text input component? I know I can change the color of the background, but I was hoping I could add a background image to it. IS this possible?
I'm trying to change the background color of a TextArea Component.Does anyone know how to do this?
function processXML(e:Event):void { var strTextBox:String; myText.visible=true; myText.setStyle("contentBackgroundColor", 0x000000); //Does not work..nor does myText.setStyle("backgroundColor",0x000000); myXML = new XML(e.target.data); strTextBox = "<a href='" + myXML.Branch[0].linkURL + "'> More Info...</a>"; myText.htmlText=strTextBox;}
I created a custom component that is a s:SkinnableContainer. I want the background and other items to fade out when this component is visible. Something similar to what happens when calling Alert.show(..) so the Alert box is in focus and everything else is faded out.
I'm using the bit101 components for flash in as3, and I have a window with a white background color. I want to make that color semi-transparent. If I set the alpha for the window, everything inside the window is also semi-transparent. I just want the background. How do I accomplish this? This is my code:
I simply have one FLVPlayback component in the background and a movieclip on the layer above with an FLVPlayback component inside it. The first FLV component is constantly looping a five-second video. So all I need is for the movieclip containing the second FLV component to load the right file, fade in, and when the video ends, fade out. Absolutely all of that works... apart from the fading in. What I noticed was that my movieclip was fading in correctly, but the FLVPlayback component was empty and transparent until the fade had finished - then it played the clip. Here's my code, which gets called at random intervals:
[URL] i want the object to fade out but in the object there's a lot of overlapping pictures and each becomes half transparent. how to make the movieclip to change the alpha as it was without objects?
Is there a way that I could change the background colour using the "ColorPicker" component in flash CS5? I want to be able to change it from within the swf once it is published.
I have a Flex Tree component in my app. I set the icons for open and close. BUT I can't find something about changing the default background-color from white to something different.
