I can't get my head around how to format the xml or how to code the flash file to sort according to location name alphabetically and then press a button that will sort it by category 1st and second by name alphabetically.
Should I format the xml like this:

View 2 RepliesI have two components being absolutely positioned within a container (they are MapSymbols on an ILOG Elixir map, if that helps). Each component is a VBox with an Image and a Label. Images have functionality tied to the Click event; labels do not.
The problem is when 2 items are positioned so that the label of one is above the icon of another in the z-index, so that the label eats any mouseOver and mouseDown events. Bubbling doesn't help since it bubbles from the label to the vbox to the container, never hitting the lower element. I can't set the vbox to mouseChildren="false", since that keeps the image from getting clicked, as well.[code]...
Whenever I try to create more than one table in actionscript, only the first one gets run.I've been using a string for my query or embedding an external file with the SQL code, and every time AS seems to ignore everything after the first.Perhaps this is a feature of Actionscript and how it deals with databases and adding each table is a separate query, but is there a way to get around this? I like the idea of having my whole db CREATE statement set in one contained place.

i am using Flex builder 4.5 and my problem is this that this code doos not work, when i used trace(event.target)i get following in result in console, deleteme.ApplicationSkin2._ ApplicationSkin_Group1.contentGroup.VGroup5.button1.And if i replace this long line in 'if' statement code works.(deleteme is the project name). Dont you think it should only say button1 instead of this all long line with all hierarchy , if that is the case then how we can shortend it?[code]

I have made the table load from from the file though when the items are created the other layers (e.g background and text field) only show in the first thumb. I also want to be able to click the thumb and have it go to the corresponding url from "curl[]". I just can't work it out. At the moment it will only go to the last url added in the array! View 2 RepliesI've recently just started delving into both actionscript and flex...the main reason being I like to create a sortable datagrid or datagroup like thishere you click the main entry that already has some detail and the row expands to show more.It might be possible to do with an itemrenderer but for the life of me I cant seem to find any tutorial or source or demo that doesn't assume you already know what to do with the itemrenderer since you cant just drop them in and have them work it seems.
