This is what I want to do: I have a blank title that I want people to complete: The (something) of the (something) (something) where people select words from lists to complete the title. I also want it to be centred on a mock book cover. The problem is that I can't work out how to make the whole title into one variable, which I can them place on the cover. Professional :: Query String Variable Based On Coldfusion Template Body Element Id
Jan 25, 2010I'm using a Coldfusion Dreamweaver template with cfinclude tags. The header contains a flash movie where I'd like to pass 2 variables via a query string to load the correct image and menu button based on the variables in the ActionScript.
Example: <param name="movie" value="flash/header_v8.swf?pic=1&button=1" />
pic variable can be 1 - 3 and button variable can be 1 - 7 depending on the each pages body element id. So the logic would be something like this for my flash movie:
if body id =home, then pic=1 and button=1
if body id =about, then pic=current variable and button=2
if body id =page3, then pic=1 variable and button=3

What's the best way to pass these variables depending on the current page body element id?

Nov 6, 2010I'm trying to edit a Flash file, that get it's data from and XML file.Now when you click on one of the menu items, the page + page title should change, but somehow the page title remains the same. (at least for the first 3 menu items) But when you go to the last menu item and then back to one of the first 3 menu items, the correct page title is shown.I'm no flash / AS expert, so I can't really find out what the problem is, but it seems like it has something to do with this function

Ajax - Making Multiple Asynchronous Calls To Fetch Result From Multiple Services In The Single Click Of A Button In Flex?
Dec 27, 2010In one of our project we are using flex for front end, blazeds/java in the backend. Its an existing code where services are prewritten. I have to make calls to 3 services in the backend (basically 3 remote objects) and get their result and store the result in an object and show the data of this object in a view.
Now in front end we are using Flex and Parsley Framework. I was thinking of the following approaches.
1) Making commands for each service call and storing the result in a shared object (model) and then displaying this model in the view. In this approach the problem is some services are needed in some other web pages, but they donot need the same model. How should i handle this scenario ? Should i make a asynchronous remote call and fetch the result and then again dispatch and event with the event object storing the result.
2) Making a service call , wait for the result then make another call and wait for the result and then make other call, not sure if this is the right way ?

Unfortunately, the image that I add as the handle doesn't show up when the control is drawn. I can trigger a redraw by changing the source of the image, so apparently it's there, but it's somehow hidden. Flex :: 3 - Chart Axis Title Blinking On Resize
May 21, 2010I am having a chart with titles for horizontal and vertical axis. the verticalAxisTitleAlignment property of the vertical axis renderer is set to vertical. The application is a portal sort of thing and this chart is placed inside a small window. on click of the window am resizing the parent of the chart. but at that time the title of the axis is blinking and it provides a feeling that the resizing is not smooth. I dont understand why this happens? does the tile renders each time when the component is maximized? is there any way to stop that?

With this configuration, and once I have set the compiler properties in Eclipse for the compiler to use the Flash text engine for MX components, I can see the two labels of the Panel in the correct font and style ; but the Panel's title will not show up. Even if I add the "embedAsCff: false" line to my style .titleAssumed, the title refuses to show up.
