I'm trying to get Flex and OpenX to work together. OpenX is returning XML. I've got two Flex classes that clean-up the XML and place the ads on my site. Unfortunately, I get Error #1090: XML parser failure, when I test it. And I can't figure out why.The first class is:
package com.darylbowden.ads
{
import mx.controls.Alert;
public class Ad extends Object {
I'm trying to get Flex 3 and OpenX to work together. Everything works great in Safari and Firefox. But, I get an XML parser error in Internet Explorer, which makes me want to rip my hair out and drink turpentine.
I've tried to simplify the problem as best I can. Basically, I take the adReturn and then turn it into xml.
I'm trying to get Flex and OpenX working together. I can get the ads to work when I view the site on a Mac using Firefox or Safari. But, if I use a PC with IE, I get error #1090 which is an XML parser failure.
Apparently, there is malformed XML. How do I check the XML that OpenX produces? What's the best way to find the nasty node?
I've got OpenX working on my Flex site. But, I'm having problems getting OpenX Market working. At the moment, I only get my OpenX dummy ad-- no OpenX Market ads are displayed.So, I set an alert on the img tags and looped through the return. I'm trying to figure out whether the img tags that are referenced are correct.url...
idiot co-worker went on vacation. Apparently he edits the flash banners through OpenX. I've looked around for 3 hours and can't find where to login to OpenX.
I can't change the flash banner, even by replacing them with other images, or the SWF file with images, it's like a nightmare from hell.
There are the OpenX code files on the server in a folder, OpenX, and plenty of explanations on the internet about how to login to the OpenX website, but i need to login into OPENX on my website. the V.P. is going to flay this guy
How swffit (http://swffit.millermedeiros.com/) can be used? I mean in my project I have dynamically expanding flash application, so once the expanding part riches the bottom I see standard flash scroll bar. Not browser scrollbar...
Here is how I defined my application:
public function addPanel(evt:Event):void { var panel:Panel = new Panel(); panel.name = "new"; panel.title = "new"; panel.height = 30; panel.width = 100; this.addChild(panel); SWFFit.fit('my_flash', 800, 600); }
public function main(event:Event):void{ SWFFit.fit('my_flash', 800, 600);
<div> <a href="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"><img src="http://www.adobe.com/images/shared/download_buttons/get_flash_player.gif" alt="Get Adobe Flash player" title="Get Adobe Flash player" /></a><br /> You need <a href="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer">Flash Player 8</a> and allow javascript to see the content of this site.. </div> <!--[if !IE]>--> </object> <!--<![endif]--> </object>
</body> </html>
Will be happy to hear any feedback,
Added fixes described in answer 1. but come across interesting issue: e.g. browser scroll bar appears only on browser window resize, not when clicking add button...
I have a remoteobject within my main.mxml.I can call a function on the service from an init() function on my main.mxml, and my java debugger triggers a breakpoint.When I move the remoteobject declaration and function call into a custom component (that is declared within main.mxml), the remote function on java-side no longer gets called, no breakpoints triggered, no errors, silence.[code]
i've got a few fonts embedded and am using them in my mobile application, and they are all working, except for the ones i try to use for the "ActionBar". They work everywhere else, and substituting "Comic Sans MS" for "titleCGF" changes it to Comic Sans. So why won't it work with my custom fontFamily?
I'm using Flashbuilder 4.6 and can't get sorting of columns in my s:DataGrid to work, clicking on the columns does nothing. Can anyone suggest what is wrong?
This code does not work and I have no idea why. Seems so simple, and nearly straight out of the help doc: http:[url].........
Actually, it looks like the text is kind of selected, its sort of light gray highlighted, but when I select it using the mouse it is highlighted blue, and is obviously selected. Is the light gray highlighting what is supposed to happen when using selectRange()? Amazing but true, the light-gray background is controlled by the unfocusedTextSelectionColor style property, and the light-blue background is controlled by the focusedTextSelectionColor style property.Of course, the help doc does not seem to mention this, at least not in the section I was reading, so maybe I should be so hard on its writers, but mentioning this seems important.
I am developing a form for handling access rights in a project.I use VsflexGrid7.0 and also Vb6.0.I thought that it would be good when I show 1 (has access) and 0 (doesn't have) via checkbox within my vsflexgrid(vsflexgrid1).Now, my problem is when I click on a checkbox for Insert access right, how to get control it's value ?
I m trying to install Flex Builder 3 into Eclipse 3.5.1 as a plugin on Mac 10.6.2.During the installation phase, FB3 says it only support eclipse 3.3 & 3.4. But I started the installation anyway. After the installation was done, I can't find Flex perspective from Eclipse. So I google around and found out the possible way to manually add this link file from folder "links" to point to the FB3 Plugin folder. I did that and FB perspective can be shown now. But when I try to switch to FB perspective, error occurs:[code]
How does paging work, must Flex load in all the database records to determine how many pages to generate? Let's say I have a table with 10,000+ records and want to split it into pages of 10 records per page into a datagrid component. Does Flex load in the complete 10,000+ records, or just some of them? I would like to use PHP and AMF on the backend.
I am using flex SDK 3.5. I have model.as and in it i have an ArrayCollection (name it arr_mod) which is Bindable.
From my mxml i link to this arr_mod in three places: 1) in DataGrid i set dataprovider={arr_mode} ...
2) in Button i add new item to the arr_mod this way: mx:Button .. click = "{arr_mod.addItem(new Item)}"
3) in textBox i want to add mx:TextBox text="{mySpecialCounterFunc(arr_mod)}" note that in the Script of mxml arr_mod is Bindable as well as in the class definition in model.as
The problem is, that when clicking on button, mySpecialCounterFunc is not called! it should be called, since i use {} and this should listen to changes in arr_mod (a change that was made in the button should cause a new item to be added.. and than the listener to respond). While The DataGrid is updated correctly! By the way, if i change arr_mod to simple String or Int it works.. i.e. mySpecialCounterFunc is called Why??
I am calling [url]...........to log in to facebook using the actionscript api (as explained in this tutorial: http:[url]...... But, it does not seem to do anything.Looking at the API source, the only call that is made to JS is
The two javascript libraries which are required are: http:[url].....
However, i cannot find any reference to FBAS in these libraries. Am I even using the correct libraries? Is there another reason I have missed as to why FBAS doesnt exist? or even why calling Facebook.init() does nothing?
However the parseUrl function doesnt get called in every browser. IE seems to do, however.. the rest dont.. This should be working out of the box right?
I have tried various options to get headerWordWrap to work with an AdvancedDataGridColumn.I've even tried using headerWordWrap as a property in the AdvancedDataGrid. Nothing works. Does anyone know how to resolve this?
The Flex 4.1 SDK ships with OSMF 1.0. For new features, OSMF can be updated. Adding the updated osmf.swc to a Flex 4.1 project, I get error messages as soon as I add an OSMF component in my application (VideoDisplay in the sceenshot): Screenshot: [URL].png OSMF 1.5 download page According to the documentation, OSMF 1.5 should work with the Flex 4.1 SDK. Unfortunately, I have to stick to Flex 4.1 because Flash 10.1 needs to be supported (Flex 4.5 needs Flash 10.2) When I change the SDK to version 4.5, the error messages disappears and it compiles as expected. --> Is the documentation wrong about supporting Flex 4.1 or am I doing something wrong?
We used to write our UnitTests with FlexUnit and we were just testing our model. Now we want to test the view too. Before i run my tests i create an instance of my view and my model to test the stuff. When i try to access the view i get a null pointer exception. If i add the view to the displaylist it somehow works - even if i remove it from the list right after adding.it looks something like this:
var myView: MyView = new myView(); //myView.initialize(); will throw error Application.application.addChild(view);[code]..............
For some reason trace does not work on when I put trace into my ActionScript files. I use the Flex SDK to build Adobe Air applications. I am currently on Flex SDK 4.5.1 and Adobe Air 2.7.I have checked that idl is not running, can't find a trace of it ( pun not intended ).I have also added mm.cgf to ~/Library/Application Support/Macromedia, that hasn't worked either.
Has anyone successfully gotten swfaddress to work with IE8 and above?It seems that when using standards mode, swfaddress will appear to work fine in IE8 and IE9, however, once the user modifies the hashtag in the address bar, the history list becomes corrupted.In cases where the user starts the application via the hash tag url...), and then visits another hash (url...1), the history is never saved.I have tried playing around with swfaddress 2.5 in the svn repository. Interestingly, the code is similiar to JQuery Address (by the same author). I also note that JQuery Address suffers from the same problem.If I turn on compatibility mode in IE, the swfaddress and JQuery Address works perfectly. I have been looking into how compatiblilty mode works, and it does not seem like it would modify or affect javascript execution.Was anyone able to successfully solve this issue? If not are there any other deep linking libraries for flex or flash that contains all the feature sets of swfaddress?
I'm new to Flex and want to learn about how to implement client-side caching for data that is repeatedly requested from the server.
Let's focus on a simple example to discuss caching. Take a Flex application having several screens, where each screen plots a line series (of x and y data). The user can switch between the screens, and each time a screen is visited or re-visited, numerical arrays for both x and y data are requested from the server. The values of the x and y data on the server, of course, never change.
I want to learn what techniques are available that could be used to implement caching in the browser or AIR application such that once the x and y data is downloaded the first time, the application pulls these arrays from cache when re-visiting this screen in the future.
DataTips in flex charting are a poorly documented and little-understood feature.There are three parts, the DataTip (by default a box with text inside), the DataTipTarget (default bulls-eye circle over the series' point), and the Callout (the line from dataTipTarget to DataTip box).How are these three elements created/drawn and how can they be customized?
Now: I am creating a custom component, based on Canvas. In the canvas is an Accordion, and a button. I want the background of the canvas to be invisible, so you can see through it.Here is my canvas open tag:
I have 3 files. 2 actionscript files and a html file.I want the image to show up at the 0 X coordinate.It shows up at a non-zero position in the browser (firefox 3.*) after I compile everything with flex SDK and run the html file. BUG with flex? The embedded png image is 1019 pixels wide.
package { // first file. import flash.display.Sprite;[code].....
why i can't get a class defined by embed a .png file.like this:
[Embed(source = "../assets/level1/liquid4.png")] public var Liquid4:Class;
then in the same class:
var str:String = "Liquid" + 4; var disClass:Class = getDefinitionByName(str) as Class; addChild(new disClass() as DisplayObject);
there is nothing shows up and no error report.the program seems stoped at the getDefinitionByName line.what could be the problem,and how to get a style like this when i have multiple embeded image to go over.I learned that getDefinitionByName needs the class name as its parameters.which is not Liquid4,Liquid4 is just a varialbe that hold the reference to the actual class object.Well i did get things work,but there is another problem:
-I'm using FlashDevelop as my IDE environment,the root folder "scr" which has "Main.as" and "Preloader.as" class in it.when i test my class uint which Embeded the Fluid4 Class,it works,everyone is happy.but later i decided to move it to a separate folder under the root "src" folder.things get ugly,and error shows up indicating "can't find the class",The Embed picture class.but then i moved it out the subfoler ,everyThing works again fine.
--------------------------------------- [Embed(source = "../assets/level1/liquid4.png")] public var Liquid4:Class; then in the same class: //This gives us the actual class name
[code].....
This did work,but only in the "src" source file folder,not a sub folder of it.I checked this phenomenon many many times,and did use a tiny snippet program to prove it.It just doesn't work in the subfolder of "scr" root folder.
Are there any workarounds to get the Flex compiler to work with a 64bit JRE? If I use an MXMLC task in an Ant buildfile in Eclipse it works fine but if I try to use MXMLC from the command line (or try the Run... command from FDT in Eclipse) it fails, telling me ...
