Actionscript :: Convert The Following Java Binary Search Routine?
Dec 31, 2009
I am trying to convert the following java binary search routine to as3.I assume that 'compareTo' is a built in java method and that '>>>' s a type of bitwise operation.
package binary;
public class Finder {
public static int find( String[ ] keys, String target) {
int high = keys.length;[code]..........
I've got XML data in AS3 that needs to be compressed, validated on my Java Google App Engine servlet then saved to a file in Google Cloud Storage. Later that file will be opened and decompressed by the AS3 client. The process works if I do it with plain XML or text, but if I ByteArray#compress the data, it dies during ByteArray#uncompress with "There was an error decompressing the data".
I've tried setting the content type and mime type at various points, as well as encoding with Base64, but every attempt seems to break in a different way and I never get the same XML back that I sent in. Do I need to use multipart? Should I compress on the server? [code]...
I'm trying to evaluate whether Flex can access binary sockets. Seems that there's a class calles Socket (flex.net package). The requirement is that Flex will connect to a server serving binary data. It will then subscribe to data and receive the feed which it will interpret and display as a chart. I've never worked with Flex, my experience lies with Java, so everything is new to me. So I'm trying to quickly set something simple up. The Java server expects the following:
DataInputStream in = ..... byte cmd = in.readByte(); int size = in.readByte(); byte[] buf = new byte[size]; in.readFully(buf); [Code] .....
After that - EOFException happens on the server and that's it. So the question is, am I approaching whole streaming data issue wrong when it comes to Flex? Am I sending the policy file wrong? Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a good solid example of how to do it. It seems to me that Flex can do binary Client-Server application, but I personally lack some basic knowledge when doing it. I'm using Flex 3.5 in IntelliJ IDEA IDE.
I am a .NET Developer, but the question I am having is not related to .NETPlease keep this in mind even if my question sounds very trivial.This is my question:We have an swf in the browser, which communicates with a java extensionIts done using Smartfox Server(Used for MMO apllications)From the swf we are grabbing a portion of the screen as "Byte Array" in action script(3).And in Java, we are calling a function that converts the ByteArray to Image and then saves it.ur Java developer is encountering the errorSo basically, what I would like to know is this:How to accept the object type Byte Array from ActionScript in Java?Whats Java object type that is mapped to Byte Array in ActionScript?The conversion part is easy, I dare say. code in the ActionScript Section
public function savePhoto(uName:String, ba:ByteArray, descr:String):void{ var obj:Object = {}; obj.arr = ba;
Im having a problem with this code to convert decimal to binary ive got the formula but it wont print to the screen_txt only on the console and also my calculator wont let me change any other number other than 3 so if i press 7 binary should be 111 but it stays 11...
i have a string which contains all binary data. the binary data represents a custom object in my application.
i want to convert all the data inside the string into binary format and store it in a ByteArray. then I want to read the object from the ByteArray using readObject.
Im trying to convert a flash binary-decimal converter to another programming language (TI-Basic). I've got all of it down except one key part. I've got a solid backing of actionscript understanding but find myself unable to understand the following statement:
if (iNumber%2) { bin = "1"+bin; } from this tutorial
I realize that inumber%2 will return a value being the remainder of inumber divided by 2, but how can this be a conditional? "if (2) { }" doesn't work for conditonals im used to. Or if your a TI-Basic wiz
p.s. how do you wrap actionscript tags around content in a post on the forum?
In Eclipse (and Flash/Flex Builder) you get the option with Ctrl+Shift+F to do a file search and look for a regular expression. Would be a real handy thing to know.
I want to find the word negate if it appears in a Flex/java comment like the following:
My designer provides me lots of MovieClips containing buttons and its states and most of them contain a TLF TextField. Now I do not want to check each MovieClip where a TLF TextField is used. Can I know exactly in which MovieClips and buttons a TLF TextFields has been used so that I can convert them to a classic TextField, or any method to convert all TLF TextFields to classic automatically by the compiler itself? I tried deleting the TLF library from publish settings: it starts giving me an error, but still not pointing me to where TLF TextFields are being used.
I'm porting an existing java library to actionscript and since they are both realy similar, 95% of the work is simply flipping variable and function definition around.
public int foo(int bar) {} //converts to public function foo(bar:int):int {}
Is there a tool to automate the transition between java syntax and actionscript? I'm not looking to compile java to swf, just transform the source code to be (often nonworking) actionscript.
The coding language is Java.I have a ByteArray embedded in ActionScriptObject.(Smartfox Server)I want to convert it into ByteArray.The idea is to save it as an image.This a sequel to the post --> Convert Byte Array from Action Script to Image in Java and save it
I need to take a .swf Flash file, ideally from a URL (but I can read the file from disk also) and create an image preview of it (png, gif or jpeg is fine).I am using Adobe Coldfusion 8 so I'm looking for a Java solution. I need to get the first frame of the Flash movie only.
EDIT: I need to do this on the server in Java/CF at runtime - it's got to be automatic - I'm not looking for screen-grab software.
i've been making an app for android in java, but i'm curious about convering to actionscript so that i could use flash builder to port my app onto BB and iOS too.is this possible through some sort of automater? how hard would it be? my app is pretty simplistic in the grand scheme of apps
I'm tring to convert the following 3 methods from java-actionscript to Objective C. Part of my confusion I think is not knowing what Number types, primitives I should be using. ie in actionscript you have only Number, int, and uint. These are the 3 functions I am trying to convert public function normalize(value:Number, minimum:Number, maximum:Number):Number
I am new beginner, is it possible the covert flex data grid to CSV file format with out use any backend (java,php ..) file?. Because I tried with out use bankend. is it convert or not?
I am looking for libraries or solutions to convert a Microsoft PowerPoint file into a playable Flash file. The constraints are that I must be able to do this from Java, a webapp, that is running on a Linux-based server. I have been scouring Google and have only come up with two options: iSpring SDK -[URL] Option #1 is looking like it will be cost prohibitive based on initial conversations with the vendor (i.e. no price listed on web site). Option #2 seems non-ideal as it will require installing additional dependencies of OpenOffice and X11. This seems like too much overhead for what should be an inline solution.
Everything else I could find was either written only for Microsoft .NET or was just a PowerPoint plugin exporter. Any other solutions out there that are being buried by Google SEO? Can someone, maybe, convince me that the overhead of Option #2 really ain't that bad?
Update: I should clarify that I'm not opposed to reliance on a native library as long as it will compile on CentOS or, preferably, has a yum package available. I should, also, clarify, that I'm not opposed to a "for pay" option within realms of reasonable.
I need to convert latitude longitude values into pixel positions as well as do the opposite. I've found many solutions to go from lat/lng->pixel, but can't find anything on the reverse.
A couple of notes:
The map is a fixed size, no zooming, no tiles. I don't need anything super accurate, its not important. Preferably mercator projection, but not required. I'm not actually display the result. (Any 2D projection) I can't rely on any web based API's, ie: no Google Maps
A solution in almost any programming language would be fine, as long as it doesn't rely on any platform specific APIs.
This is an example of going from lat/lng->pixel:
var y = Math.round(((-1 * lat) + 90) * (this.MAP_HEIGHT / 180)); var x = Math.round((lng + 180) * (this.MAP_WIDTH / 360));
I have a pretty simple script that allows you to draw multiple rectangles using the drawing API in MX. I need to create multiple MC containers, so that I can later do other functions to these areas.Now, what I can't figure for the life of me is why the rectangles are drawing in the way they are. If you copy this script into a blank file and run it, you'll see what I mean. Why is it duplicating/replicating/echoing as you draw? If you debug and list Objects, it is creating the MCs properly, so where are these other lines coming from? I'm sure this is something simple to fix, that there is some recursion going on, but I can't troubleshoot it.
Worked on a project for 8 hours. I should have saved it, but the abobe stuff seemed to be bullet proof. I pressed the up arrow and poof gone.
Why is there not some sort of auto save for when it crashes? such a simple task you completely forgot. I guess now I have to save non stop to use your product. I don't want to sit there and mash that crap all day long. Another thing why does cutting and pasting frames from another file always put it in random spot? then when you go to move it, you have one messed up animation. When you click on a layer, you see the motion in the little colored line, and then the actual pic. When you select more then 1 layer it only picks one of the dotted lines, but it proceeds to copy incorectly.
BTW why restrict underscores in screen names? WHY? I can't come up with any good reason.
I'm working on an image gallery project that uses 45 jpgs that need to be displayed all at about the same time (like a splash of photos).Everything works except for inconsistent display of the loaded images (it works consistently on localhost but not on the remote server).All of the images successfully preload into the cache, but when the routine that displays them starts, it sometimes fails to complete.I haven't been able to find anything unusual in the display code that would account for the failure.So I thought I would try to add a work-around (maybe a Timer) that would repeatedly run the display routine until it completed successfully (sounds sloppy and hokey, but I'm at my wits end and way behind schedule).
