I created 3 buttons in flash (biography, music, contact). Whenever you hover over them,they animate. Is there a way to make these clickable objects in Dreamweaver? I've searched and found out about the 'invisible button', but this doesn't work for me because it takes away the animation I created.

How do I save/export/publish (not sure of the correct terminology) this .fla file so that my end result is an image that I can insert (as an image) into an email (outlook) and send. The recipient should be able to click on the image and activate the movie.

View 3 RepliesMy friend is making a new signature for use on her forum and she wanted to embed an animated .gif file into her signature. She has no idea how to do this but it sounded to me like something that could be done fairly easily with flash and Actionscript. Personally, I have not used Actionscript in any of my projects since I bought CS3. Mostly I've just been too lazy to learn the differences between Actionscript 2.0 and 3.0, I know it uses a bit different of a syntax.
View 1 RepliesI'm begining with flash (flash CS4 pro), I have created a fla file with a mxp filter which makes waves (I found the effect on "flash-filter.net"). I've done the setup for publishing (animated gif + swf)
When I publish the animated gif, I get a non-animated gif with the logo of "flash-filter.net" at the top of the image. ( I've also tried to download the swf with real player, same effect : I have a static video with the same logo )
I just want to ask that, is there anyway to import an animated-gif from my own XML file to my stage?
View 4 RepliesFirstly, although I've been using Flash on and off for years (since CS3) I don't use it very often so I apologise if my issue seems simplistic.Basically, I used Flash CS3 for a few years to create basic animations for clients, involving simple scrolling text, without any problems.Recently I upgraded to the CS4 Master Suite and then CS5 Master Suite within a couple of days of each other and I now need to use Flash to make a change to an old animation.When I opened the CS3 file it appears as expected and I made the changes to the text (changing a word or two within a line of type).When I right clicked on the type relevant frames within the timeline I noticed that there is now more than one version of tween available, and that classic tween was already selected (I think I better buy a new teach yourself Flash CS5 book!)
Anyway, that was allI needed to do so I initially pressed return and the text scrolled across the stage as expected.But when I clicked on CONTROL / TEST MOVIE / TEST (or cmd+Return on my Mac) the SWF file that appears is static and the text does not scroll at all.If I publish the movie using Actionscript 3 or 2 the resulting SWF file is also totally static. But if I drop the SWF file into the relevant website folder and view it through Dreamweaver's browser view facility it works perfectly and scrolls just as expected.Equally, opening it using the Opera browser works too.
I've tried altering the CS3 file and testing the movie in Flash CS4 and Flash CS5 but the same thing happens.It's a bit time wasting and inefficient wanting to test an animation as a SWF file by double clicking on it and only being shown a static image.Is this a well known problem as I couldn't find any mention of it during my search?
Am I completely hallucinating or what ? That's several years I'm working with Flash, and today, i want to do the simplest animation ever, and it just doesn't work....I want to mask an animated clip with an animated mask (a shape animation), but every time the mask arrives at a keyframe, the clip restarts to the frame 1 !!I added a piece of code to see at which keyframe it is blocked, and at every mask keyframe, the code says 'TypeError: Error #1009: null property..

How do I implement all these names (with animation) with coding in AS2 instead of timeline and labels?Without using external files xml, swf, txt.My solution I chosen is to have Labels (label1, label2..) in my timeline and I have now 30 labels, 30 movieclips+30MC:s in every with the name animation. It is so hard work to copy label, motion, convert new movieclip and do this for 100 names. Maybe I need 200 names.. This is impossible to sort out.
Every name must have the same:
- animation: movement, speed, blurfilter
- font
I need to be able to change:
- the name (firstname, lastname)
- animation (blurfilter, where it should start animate and stop, how fast..)
And I need to be able to change the font so It changes in every name so I don't need to go into every movieclip and change.

I have created a few cool little animations with FLAR toolkit and it all works fine I am super happy with how collada files work in the AR apps that Ive made. I would like to make an animated collada file just simply loop through an animation. I am pretty sure its possible but I don't know whether the examples Ive seen use code or whether the animation is imported.

The external loading is working, but its not clickable. Without the external flash, the parent is clickable.
I was sent an swf ad for my website and when I mouseover it I get the click hand symbol but when I click a page loads with an error saying that the page cannot be found.
I tried to place an a href tag around the entire swf file but I get the same error. Is there a way to fix this without having the flash file?
Im using an animated movieclip to create a pulldown menu..the thing is that I want to anymate the buttons inside the pulldown as well..so I therefore used a similar movieclip inside the pulldown menu to make this animation

I listen to my top level content Sprite MOUSE_OVER and MOUSE_OUT events.The over handler hides default cursor and displays a custom (zoom) cursor.Out handler changes cursor back to default.What I want to achieve is NOT showing the zoom cursor when the mouse is over a clickable item in the externally loaded SWF like a button or textlink.The current code works perfectly for AVM1 swfs.The problem lies with loaded swfs using AS3.For these the content MOUSE_OUT is fired and instantly MOUSE_OVER is fired as well, so the cursor remains wrong.What this probably boils down to is: How to check the mouse is over a clickable child of content?
I have a pretty simple flash banner(using flash cs4) that I want ot make clickable.I am assuming I have everything correct, because when I "test movie", everything works as expected.Now comes the odd part. When I export movie, the clickable portion no longer works. Along the same lines as soon as I save the .fla file, the "test movie" no longer works.I have recreated this about 10 times now and everytime the same result. now I have it open on my computer, because as soon as I save it will no longer work.

View 1 RepliesI'm ultimately trying to create a flash page for an html website that has a brief five-second animation during which 3 buttons fade in (buttons then become clickable after the animation is over).
The animation part is done. Right now, I am trying to get my movie to stop and hold on the last frame, where I want to add the 3 buttons that the user can click on to take them to one 3 different html pages of my website.
All instructions that I've found online have said to create a new layer for actions, insert a keyframe on the last frame of the movie, and add stop(); in the actionscript window. However, when I have the keyframe selected, my actionscript window says "current selection cannot have actions applied to it".
I definitely don't have any objects selected, just the keyframe.
You can see that I have the frame (a keyframe) that I want to insert a "stop" action selected in the Actions layer. This is the first frame in which the buttons exist, and from what I can tell, I need the clip to stop on the first frame of my buttons, after my animation is over. (Still figuring out how to get the buttons to work, but will address that later...)

In the first I have a button and if somebody click on that button it goes to the second scene.In the second scene I remove the button with an image so it is not clickable.How to leave this button, but make it not clickable at all?and the second case is what if I am using just one scene in flash and want the button be clickable only once? How the actionscript will look like?

I have developed a rolling credits style movieclip in Flash using Actionscript 2. Text is loaded from an XML file and parsed into a dynamic textfield. This text includes hyperlinks to webpages defined by a url node in the xml so Flash can add the appropriate a href to the dynamic text field and make the link clickable.
In my first attempts to do this the textfield stayed still and all the links worked fine both testing locally and when I run it in a browser on my website.Then I wanted to make things move ... which I achieved easily enough and tested locally (from within Flash Professional) and the links remained clickable, a browser window opened and the webpage i was expecting to see opened... great
However, when I export the swf, upload it and run it from my website suddenly the links are not working. So I tried to test the movie in a browser from Flash Pro - same problem, it must be something to do with Flash Player and the moving dynamic textfield.
a couple of observations - the cursor will change to a hand icon when over the links as you would expect, and if I right click on the link and click open in a new window the link works ok, just not when I left click. If I stop the scrolling then the links become clickable again, it is only when the textfield is moving... actually its not technically scrolling, im moving the whole textfield.
